Kiri found her forever home through our site when a wonderful guardian fell in love with her! She will now live in Canada.

Kiri is 5 1/2yrs old, bright-eyed, and as smart as she is sweet.  A year ago, Kiri was hit by a car and very nearly killed, but was dragged from the road and after many months of recuperation and rehab, Kiri is back.  Her tail is gone now, and the damage to her nervous system has deprived her of the use of her hind legs, but she does not seem to mind.  She loves to play ball and plays chase games with other dogs even now that she's wheelchair-bound, and will do just about anything you want her to if you give her something to eat.  She is also a great hiker, an excellent herder, and is very good on a leash.  She is incredibly gentle and patient with kids, and loves almost all humans and dogs but chases cats pretty compulsively.  Kiri has both bladder and bowel control, but it is limited; she will let you know she needs to go out, but she can't wait long.  She has all of her shots up to date and! is on no special meds, but eats a special food that is gentle on her digestion, which can be a problem when Kiri is anxious.  Kiri's family has a special-needs teenager in it too, and only one parent, who works long hours and cannot be available enough of the time to keep Kiri on her much-needed daily schedule.  All Kiri really needs is a home where she can be outside a lot, and where the people who love her are around during the day.

Contact Joyce at joycedd@olg.com or visit the website www.petswithdisabilities.org
to see if you have the perfect home for Kiri

BLU found his forever home with one of our Friends of the Farm who volunteers regularly with rescue...she fell in love with him and when she brought her gang of furry friends, it was a good match for a lifetime! Blu will have great walks in the country each day as well as training to be a therapy dog because he clearly has a wonderful gentle nature with people. We'll be seeing Blu all the time as his life unfolds! Blu now lives in upstate NY.

BLU: A 9 mo old Border Collie/Aussie mix, Blue is a gem, very sweet and eager to be with everyone he meets. He needs the leadership of a person focused on him since he is a young pup and would also benefit from having another young dog for play. Blu is quickly loving the Farm, racing and herding with the other dogs. He is very responsive to a close relationship with a person already and will bond quickly. Blue is smart, alert and agile, just learning to focus on toys. He will need consistency in a relationship with his people and routine and will benefit from a focus on training, especially a sport. He is about 30 pounds and good with cats. Blue has been in four homes already since he was originally adopted into the wrong environment for him. A caring family took him in to prevent him from going to a shelter but realized he needs a herding savvy home. Blu came to the Farm from the NY area.

KODY found his forever home with guardians who understand and love Border Collies and were thrilled to add Kody to their lives to join them in duties at their Farm, as a constant companion. Kody will also enjoy racing around 70 acres keeping track of the horses and donkeys for sure! Kody now lives in upstate NY as the resident Border Collie greeting visitors, living the life that suits him perfectly.

KODY: A 9 month old Border Collie with ABCA papers, Kody is a classic herding Border Collie who likes to race, chase and make up herding games. He is a sweet, loving boy who will cuddle and nestle his head under your arm for affectionate and then quickly race off to play. Kody is very smart and also sensitive so needs a Border Collie savvy home to build his confidence in new situations. He can be skittish with strangers though if with a confident dog, he does best. He is great with other dogs and not yet tested on cats. He is about 35 pounds. Kody was surrendered to the Farm by guardians in PA who could not meet his needs.

BUD found his forever home where chasing a ball will be his non-stop activity...he clearly won their hearts with his speed and focus and desire to play, play, play. Of course, with the balls away, Bud also become the cuddly guy he can be, showing all his charm. Bud will even get to try agility and possibly search and rescue Ski Patrol! Bud now lives in MA.

.BUD is a 3 year Border Collie with plenty of herding instinct...he absolutely loves chasing balls and could easily do any sports. Bud is smart, fast and focused, eager to connect with people but really loves the action of play. He is also quite the cuddler. He is great with other dogs and makes up herding games, in sync with the other toy oriented Border Collies at the Farm. Bud is about 35 pounds and good with cats and lived with seven dogs previously so has great dog skills. He also lived with lots of kids and other than herding them, was a wonderful friend. Bud was relinquished from PA to the Farm due to issues with an epileptic greyhound in the home.

KIRI found her forever home finally! with adopters and friends of the farm that we know well who will provide her with a home for life. They picked her up from Montana when the previous adopter who lived in Canada felt it was too much work after a week of trying to make a go of it. Joyce and Mike, who have three wheelchair dogs already and run Pets with Disabilities were compelled to help Kiri. She actually lived only an hour from them in Maryland before being flown to Canada! They were vacationing out west and connected with another adopter of ours (who moved there long ago) who volunteered to drive her from the border to them. A special thanks to Loreli and Mike Murray and Mona and Kurt Johnson who linked together to get Kiri into loving hands. A special thanks to Helene Lawler who asked Mona to help. This was quite a coordination of caring people to make sure that Kiri could return to the states. Clearly, Kiri is very very happy now with new furry friends and her loving guardians feel she is a very special girl who quickly captured their hearts. We are inspired by the grace and love that Joyce and Mike have for dogs in need. Please visit their site, www.petswithdisabilities.org . Kiri already has a new wheelchair that lets her race and play so much more easily!  We'll be spending time with Kiri and her new family at camp this week while she enjoys all the activities at the Farm.

Kiri is 5 1/2 yrs old, bright-eyed, and as smart as she is sweet. All Kiri really needs is a home where she can be outside a lot, and where the people who love her are around during the day.

MATT joined two other border collies in his new life which includes all kinds of herding games and fun in his large yard filled with trees and a creek and plenty of room to run and explore. He is clearly in sync with his new fur friends and spent the night in the RV at the farm getting to know everyone. He headed out to his new life content and happy to be with people who truly understand him and adore him. He now lives in VA.

MATT: A 1 1/2 year old Border Collie, Matt is fast, fun and focused. He loves to play with toys and is eager for any inventive game to test his mind. He is also very sweet, good with people, loves to cuddle and also is happy to be in the middle of action. Matt will be placed with another Border Collie to best handle his play needs. Matt is trained on the invisible fence.  He is about 40 pounds, good with cats and loves the water and will jump in and swim like crazy. Matt will need some confidence building with a border collie savvy person and should do well quickly. He is one of 25 dogs surrendered to the Farm from a guardian in PA who had personal troubles. Matt is in a foster home in PA and can be seen at the Farm.

MERL found his forever home during the Canine Country Camp when a camper's dog and he began to play and play and play and play and then of course, she fell in love with him, too. He spent a night in the tent and clearly won her heart. The day she was leaving camp, he literally sat on her leash to send his own personal message of what he wanted and then sat at the gate watching her go. We had asked her to go home without him to be sure it wasn't just the emotion of camp. So, she headed home from camp and turned around a day later to come back and get him. Both she and her dog, Milo, were sad without him. Merl was incredibly happy to see her and trotted out the gate as if he had been patiently waiting for her all his life. He now lives in MA where he'll have lots of land for running and playing plus swimming and all the herding games he and his new friend can create. He will surely be adored.

MERL: A 2 1/2 year old Border Collie, Merl is an easy going, loving, friendly dog who fits in anywhere. He loves everyone he meets and instantly makes friends without any hesitation. He came right into the Farm fields and began playing with other dogs and saying hello to everyone and at camp this summer, he is the most popular dog. Merl is very very good natured, not overly active but loves to race with other dogs and wrestle and play. He would be very happy with another dog friend as well as lots of people around for interaction. He is great off leash, fine in the car and has no issues in new situations. He is interested in cats and curious so needs dog savvy cats living with him. He is 45 pounds, typical in size for the breed. Merl is a delightful Border Collie who will be a wonderful companion, a real cuddler and eager to go anywhere and do anything. He was surrendered to a shelter in NJ after his guardian became ill. He was originally adopted from the Katrina storm.

BAILIE found his forever home with a family that chuckled with his sweet nature, loved throwing the ball for a good game of catch and retrieve and felt he was the best dog to join their lives forever! He was clearly happy to be with them and trotted off to their car as if he knew today was his day to start his new life. Bailie will have lots to do playing and enjoying his new yard, complete with chasing squirrels and chasing the soccer ball and lounging on the couch for lots of love! He now lives in PA.

BAILIE: A 1 year old Border Collie, Bailie is a wonderful, friendly, happy guy who loves to run and chase and race around trying to get you to catch him. He loves people and is happy to be a great companion. He is smart, eager to learn and ready for an interactive relationship with a person. He has lots of energy so would be best in a very active home or with someone pursuing sports. Bailie is a confident male and likes to be the center of attention so will placed as a solo dog. Bailie is good with cats, weighs about 40 pounds. He was abandoned at a PA shelter due to herding the young child in the home, very typical of the breed.

KALI found her forever home with another toy nut, just like her. They quickly developed a rhythm of chasing and herding and checking out each other's toys. She was quickly at home with her new guardian who fell in love with her sweet nature and playful ways. Kali will have lots of land to explore and plenty of herding games to make up with her new fur friend, Harry. She now lives in Vt where she'll also spend time at her cottage on the lake which she'll love since she's quite the water lover.

KALLI is a 6 year old Border Collie, very loving, friendly, playful. She is extremely observant, loves to be in the action yet she is relatively calm for a border collie and is very smart, loyal and obedient.  She gets along well with other dogs and is good with dog-savvy cats, especially playful ones. Kalli likes the water and is happy to wade in to explore.  Kalli has lived with one family almost her entire life and has been very well loved and treated. She would be a wonderful companion. She is about 50 pounds.  She is being relinquished due to a new baby in the family. Kalli came from upstate NY.

Wonderful MOLIE found her forever home with a guardian who adores the breed and absolutely fell in love with her sweet, brilliant ways, everything from tossing the jolly ball to laying quietly at his feet, happy to be with him. They were a delightful team and clearly a wonderful life ahead for Molie who now lives in Cape Cod and has her own fenced yard for lots of play and exploring and will share her heart constantly with her new person each and every day.

MOLIE is a 7 year old spayed female Border Collie. She is a wonderful girl, sweet, affectionate, energetic, fast, and bright eyed. She gets along well with Border Collies, since they are on the same wavelength, especially submissive males. She lived with another Border Collie and could again, or could enjoy life as a solo dog with all the attention. She is a delightful companion. Molie is very people oriented with a great desire to please. She is well trained, knows all the basic commands, has a great recall and is a very fast learner. She has been territorial with a neighbor's dog so will need a hard fence. Molie was very well loved in her home and they are heartbroken over losing her. She came from the Pittsburgh area.

BUDY won the heart of his new guardian almost instantly when she came through the gate and he gave her a warm, loving hello. Budy then proceeded to show off his great ball skills and toy play which delighted her to no end, reminding her of the years with her former beloved border collie. After meeting a few dogs, Budy stayed at the top of the list and he clearly felt that way about her, too. Budy now lives in upstate NY where he'll be adored forever!!

BUDY: An 8 year old Border Collie, Budy is a very intelligent, thoughtful dog who wants to be a close companion to his person. He is very friendly in meeting anyone and easy going in new situations, coming right to the Farm, for example, mixing in with lots of dogs and saying hello to all the people at the recent seminar. Budy enjoys being with people and would be best where someone was around most of the time so he can share his affection. He is very loving and also great with other dogs. He also loves the Jolly Ball and will carry it around, throwing it in the air, creating his own fun! Budy previously lived with a sheltie but could easily live on his own as the solo dog or with a more submissive dog since he likes his own space rather than the rough play of young dogs. He is good with cats. Budy is carrying some extra weight since his access to exercise changed with illnesses in the family who previously had him. Budy was close to the family members who died a few months ago and the family no longer felt they had time to meet his needs. He was relinquished to the farm from PA.

MINDY joined another alumni from the Farm, Ace, in a wonderful new life of tons of love, lots of play and adoring guardians who are smitten with the breed and loved her instantly, just what had happened when they met Ace a few months back.
