Sweet SHEILA found a new life with guardians who loved her gentle nature and also that brilliant, fun mind of hers! They spent the night getting to know her and happily knew she’d be a perfect fit for them. Sheila will be the constant companion to her new FurMom and enjoy hikes each day since they live in a rural area of Rhode Island. We know Sheila is in good hands, loved completely.

SHEILA: A 4 year old Border Collie, Sheila is a loving, sweetheart of a girl. She just loves to be right by your side, happiest to be with her person. Gentle and sensitive, she blossoms with attention and is quite the cuddle-bug, too. She loves playing ball and is a joyful girl used to herding other dogs as they play but really enjoying a good toss game herself. Since Sheila is a bit sensitive, she’ll be placed in a calmer home where she can be the center of attention. She’s lived with many Border Collies and does well with them all so could have a buddy again or be a solo dog, with the right situation. Sheila loves men since she was with the previous male guardian a great deal so would love to have another FurDad to call her own. Sheila is good with cats and about 40 pounds. She and Shilo came to GHF from PA guardians who felt they had too many Border Collies from their breeding situation so relinquished two to rescue.

Every now and then a GHF rescue finds their home on their own! Well, not exactly on their own but certainly we chuckle as it seems as though the dogs surely know what they want and their hearts holler loudly about it!  Sometimes, we laugh as we watch the ‘master plan’ unfold! So, little ANYA was temporarily fostered waiting for a ride to GHF and what we didn’t know at the time, was this little smart girl knew she had found her home right there! Her fosterers, GHF adopters, were determined to send her on her way though very conflicted doing it. Well, she landed on a Saturday and on Sunday, she was driven right back to them….two-legged and four-legged beings all landed on the same conclusion instantly…home was not GHF and her new people wanted her BACK !!!!  She has a pack of canine pals, including one GHF alum! So little Anya is all set with a great new life!

ANYA: A 4 month old Border Collie mix, Anya is a loving girl who thinks people are the best! She loves to cuddle and be the center of attention! She also loves to play with other dogs and makes up herding games, classic with young dogs so we’d like her to have a canine pal. Anya is smart, focused and loves her toys just as much as human affection. We’ll update her bio shortly. She is not good with cats and typical in size for her age..

JOCK found a wonderful life with former GHF adopters who knew he would fit their pack beautifully and he did! They overnighted in the Adoption Center to be sure and clearly, they were a great canine trio! We’ll get to see Jock this summer, too, since they enjoy vacationing at GHF and we know Jock will have a blast on the trails! He’s far far away from a rough life chained to a dog ‘box’

JOCK: A 9 year old Border Collie, Jock is a handsome old-style BC, a bit bigger than today’s petite dogs bred for sports. Focused, observant and very tuned into everything around him, his personality is classic. He is easy going, enjoying some toy time as well as gnawing on a bone, happy with either. He’s also quite an explorer, loving walks around the trails. Jock is a thinker who takes his time unwinding, not overly impulsive about anything, really quite an interesting boy who would be a wonderful companion. He is good with other dogs and not yet tested on cats. Jock is 65 pounds. He was living chained outside to a dog house, having been passed to another person once his guardian died.

JACK had a very quick entrance into GHF and right into a loving home. His new guardians had been patiently waiting for a dog with his temperament so soon as they heard he arrived, they anxiously awaited further information signaling an ok to visit. Then, as soon as we met Jack, we knew he was perfect for them and he could head out to a new life! Jack will be their constant companion 24/7, hanging with them in all they do as well as enjoying lots of frisbee and ball play. His new FurMom even makes dog toys so he’s going to be one happy boy. He now lives in Ct. They said it best: "we have tears of happiness in our eyes!" John and Joan

JACK: A 5 year old Border Collie mix, Jack is a really neat guy, so plugged into people and eager to be with you. He loves attention and has a gentle nature with you even though he’s a bigger boy.  Athletic, smart, focused and a toy nut, he is happy, good-natured and very eager to please. Jack has been a loved family member til a work situation changed, leaving him alone 10 hours a day which caused his NJ guardians to relinquish him to GHF.  He is a very well mannered companion and good with cats.  He lived in one home since a pup. Jack is a bit overweight from lack of exercise so about 55 pounds.

ELLIE found wonderful guardians who have the property and the time to insure a great life for her!  She’ll join them hiking, back-packing and cross country skiing on her own 72 acres plus all the countryside of Vermont which they explore.  She’s exactly the girl they wanted - super active, focused and fun - a perfect fit for Ellie, too. She’ll even get to go to work with her FurMom who has a dog-friendly office or her FurDad who works outside and can take her along!  Lots of choices for Ellie, all adding up to a stimulating and love-filled life! We’re so happy for her.

ELLIE: A petite 1 year old Border Collie, Ellie is a super friendly, high energy girl, classic in her focus and drive. She loves any toy and will play non-stop, serious about her retrieval games. Smart as can be, she’ll need a BC savvy guardian who can stimulate her mentally as well as physically and emotionally. She loves to learn and is very eager to please. Ellie loves other Border Collies and would love a buddy for non-stop play which would be great for her energy level! She is about 30 pounds and good with dog savvy cats. A Friend of the Farm spotted her in the shelter and thankfully contacted GHF. She was surrendered to the shelter due to a move.  Ellie also has an interest in cars so needs to be in a rural setting to minimize the stimulation.

Little Miss LIBBY found a wonderful new life with former GHF alums (4 of them not all shown) and will have a great pack of canine pals to enjoy! Plus, her new FurMom is about to jump back into behavior work and wanted a focused pup to join her. Libby will have plenty to do at her new guardian’s doggie resort, joining visiting daycare dogs as well as being the store ambassador! We’ll get to see her a lot, too since Dog Wild is our pet supplier for all the rescue needs! Libby now lives in NY.

LIBBY: A 7 month old Border Collie mix, Libby is a smart, observant pup with a great nature, so easy going and fun. She is quite athletic and loves to run, jump and make up chase games, happy to have a canine buddy. Libby is extremely sweet and cuddly, really loving a human connection. She was relinquished to GHF from a PA guardian who felt she had too much energy for her Pomeranian.

Sweet SHAMUS found the perfect family that will not only adore him, they will be sure he has an active life of fun! He’s joining a GHF alum to live on 13 acres where he can hike, swim and just really enjoy being a happy dog!  Plus he’ll be hanging at the lake house on weekends for even more fun!  We’re so happy this great little guy found a great big life! He now lives in NJ.

SHAMUS: A 5 month old Border Collie mix, Shamus is a love-bug, just the cutest guy with the greatest curiosity about life! He is blossoming with everything around him - dogs, toys, outdoor hikes, swimming - he’s trying it all and gaining lots of confidence in the world. Shamus is easy going but energetic as any young herding pup will be but he settles well inside and is very eager to please. He is really enjoying having a canine pal and does best with easy going submissive dogs since the canine experience is new to him. Of course, he loves his toys, too! Shamus is fine with cats and about 25 pounds, typical in size for his age. He was surrendered to GHF since the NY guardians had a young toddler and the combination was just too hard to manage.

MATTY landed at GHF exactly at the right time that former GHF adopters felt ready to honor their recently past canine pal, by adopting another.  So, they headed to the Farm, met a few dogs that pulled at their heartstrings and within the first meeting, knew that Matty was THEIR dog.  He absolutely charmed them to bits with all his antics including sharing his love non-stop - exactly what they were looking for!  He now lives in NY.

MATTY: A 5 year old Border Collie mix, Matty (Mateo) is a good natured, curious guy who loves to check out the world and get involved in whatever is going on around him. He is confident and friendly and very outgoing, quite an endearing canine ambassador. He is very eager to please and listens to whatever is asked of him, offering behaviors in order to earn his reward. Since he’s food motivated, it would be fun to teach him more stimulating tasks. Matty has been around lots of other dogs but lived as a solo dog so likely will do best that way, again. He is curious about cats but indifferent though never lived with any. He is a tad overweight, about 50 pounds but will knock that off with more access to running. He previously lived in a 2nd floor apartment for the last two years when his PA guardians adopted him from Chile where he was living on the streets. Due to their move back to Chile, they felt it was best for him to find a home in the U.S.

Sweet, gentle Cricket found a new life with a GHF alum, Declan, who needed a buddy to round out his world. They are a great complimentary match, one calm and easy going; one more busy and focused, exactly what their guardians were hoping to find. They were struck by Cricket’s soft nature and loving people focus and felt she’d be ideal for their lives. We agreed and are so happy for all involved. Cricket now lives in Massachusetts.

CRICKET: A 1 year old Border Collie, Cricket is a sweet, sensitive girl who is curious and playful, just needing some time to open up with confidence. She can be super shy at first and will need a patient guardian go help her blossom. Cricket is a heartfelt companion who loves to cuddle and be connected to people, a very good natured girl. She does well with another BC buddy who gives her confidence and enjoys making up herding games. We’d like her to have a canine pal since her happiness is clear with a buddy. Cricket will do best with reassurance and step by step guidance since she has not had much training. She was relinquished to GHF from a NY guardian who breeds Border Collies but decided not to do so with Cricket. She is good with cats and about 40 pounds.

OZZI raced, chased and cuddled his way right into the hearts of his new guardians, former GHF adopters. He also won over his new canine pals, including GHF alum, Jasper so off he went to a new life in Pennsylvania where he’ll be cherished forever. His new FurMom and FurDad love the herding breeds and wanted to have another trio after the passing of beloved GHF alum, Hoot. We know Ozzi will fill their hearts with great joy!

OZZI: A 1 year old Border Collie, Ozzi is a love-bug, always ready to say hello to everyone and jump literally into your arms, with a full body hug! He is a funny guy, rambunctious and full of excitement, not quite sure where to focus his mind and body yet. Now, he’s really enjoying having a buddy for lots of play, wrestling, chasing and running full speed through the fields. Ozzi is a ‘diamond in the rough’ and will need someone patient to guide him step by step through home living. He hasn’t had anyone really focus on him, one-on-one but is very eager to please and will adjust in the right hands. He is good natured and not showing herding drive which is why he landed in rescue, not a working dog. Ozzi is 40 pounds and good with cats.

JAKE found a great life with a loving couple who will make him the center of their world! He gets to hang with his FurDad when he goes to work on a thousand acre property he helps care for and then once his FurMom is home, he’ll get plenty of trick training and BC activities since she has grown up with the breed. He’s going to enjoy country living while being a cherished family member - the perfect pairing for this special dog! He now lives in NY. Not only is today Jake’s adoption day, it’s his birthday, turning 2 and starting his new life!

JAKE: A 2 year old Border Collie, Jake is a nice guy with lots of ball interest, really ready to go for a toss whenever ones comes his way! He loves his toys! He is a very observant boy, really taking in everything around him before taking action. He slid into GHF well, fitting with other BC’s here probably because he went to doggie day care quite a lot in his previous home. Jake lived with an elderly woman who died and though relatives tried giving him a home, apartment living wasn’t really suitable so he was surrendered to GHF. He is good with cats and a bit overweight due to his life change but clearly active and will knock that off. Jake came from PA.

BOOKER found a new life with caring guardians who really understand how to help a dog blossom and gain trust in life, exactly what Booker needed. They were so drawn to meet him and see if he might like them, which he certainly did! He loved their gang of dogs and after an overnight, they were all clearly a big active pack!  We’ll even get to see him again since his new FurMom & FurDad vacation at GHF

BOOKER: A 1 1/2 year old Border Collie, Booker is a sensitive guy especially when the camera comes out!  Other times, he loves to play with other dogs, a happy go lucky, big time chaser, mixing it up easily with a group or a solo pal. He’s a toy boy, too. Booker is super sweet, friendly and good natured. Booker has issues meeting men he doesn’t know due to his history in his previous home so we will be working on this before considering him available for adoption.  He came from a NJ shelter abandoned for housetraining issues. We just found medical reasons for his issues - a urinary infection - so he’s being treated and we’ll update his bio shortly. We want to give him some time to unwind at the Farm and understand him before sending him to a new situation. He is about 40 pounds and not good with cats.

JAGG found guardians who love the smarts of the breed and the attentive, sweet nature, too. When they met Jagg, he not only fit with their canine pack, he was exactly the loving BC they were hoping to add to their lives. Jagg happily enjoyed all the attention and headed home for a new life with 5 acres to call his own, lots of hikes and walks and two people who really understand how to meet his needs, putting his happiness front and center. We’re thrilled for Jagg who so deserved having a life where he was cared for properly and adored.

JAGG: A 1 1/2 year old Border Collie, Jagg is a sweet guy, in tune with everything around him and curious, too. He is eager to be with someone to call his own and is super affectionate.  Jagg is also quite the athlete, a real toy dog and enjoys whatever game he’s involved in! He is good natured and very friendly with everyone, a classic exuberant young BC.  He is also very good with other dogs for chasing games but we feel he’d really benefit from a close one on one relationship with a person rather than having a dog friend.  His former guardian left him alone all day outside til dark, then crated at night so Jagg is really thriving with all the human interaction. He loves people!  He is about 40 pounds and not good with cats. Jagg luckily landed at GHF when dog lovers who lived in the same building stepped in to get him into a better situation.

Brilliant TAYLA found guardians who adore her mind and observant nature, excited to see what she wants to learn and just loved her sweetness, too. She’s exactly what they were hoping to add to their lives - a bright, focused athlete! She’ll get to hike with them all the time as well as try agility but most importantly, be their dearest canine pal! We know Tayla will love her new life, living in Canada!

TAYLA: A 1 1/2 year old Border Collie mix, Tayla is one of the most interesting dogs in rescue, with such a focused intelligence and wonderful personality - quite a combination. Plus, she’s so athletic, just a joy to watch as she races and chases around the fields. She loves her toys, too, a great retrieval game is her favorite. Super gorgeous and very sweet, she really loves the space to explore and run. We’d like to see her with a good-sized property and an opportunity for hiking. Tayla is very, very smart, quite a thinker and observes what’s going on around her before she decides what she should do. She is a lead female and will do best with easy going male dogs only. Since she is a mix, she has no herding drive so is not as intense as a purebred BC. She was a stray in PA and is not good with cats.

TOBY came into GHF at 6 months old and just happened to land here when one of our former adopters was ready to add a new friend. They had lost their beloved BC buddy from GHF and knew they had a huge hole in their hearts that a special new dog could help heal. Soon as Toby arrived, we knew he could do just that..this outgoing, super friendly, high energy spitfire of a boy, had a bit of mischief written all over him but more than anything..he radiated joy. Toby loves life and loves people and it sure seems like this boy has no reason to think the world has one thing wrong with it at all! Love, love, love and fun, fun, fun…the sweetest BC ever! So, they came to see Toby as quick as possible and bingo…he’s the boy that filled their lives again with big time happiness! Toby will be an adored family member, joining another GHF alum and a sweet senior canine pal, too. He was fast friends with their adult son who was so eager to have another pal to call his own! We’re thrilled for Toby to have such a loving life. He was relinquished to GHF due to his previous guardian’s illness.

Sweet GAGE found exactly the right guardians who understand his soft nature and can offer reassurance plus lots of confidence building so he can blossom! We’re thrilled for him and his new BC buddy, Marty, who will be his mentor, too. Gage will be with them 24/7, enjoying time in the yard, exploring the great outdoors on walks and have plenty of cuddling, all of which he loves! After an overnight stay at GHF, they were positive he was the perfect fit for their lives.

GAGE: A 2 year old Border Collie, Gage is a gorgeous guy with a sweet spirit, a gentle nature. He’s pretty nervous with new people and worries about any changes but we’re sure, in the right hands, over time, he’ll find his way to more confidence. He is very soft and loves to connect with someone in a close way, just not able to do that with lots of people, yet. He comes to life with another young BC who is submissive and playful, just wonderful to watch. We’d like to give him a mentor friend to lead the way as most things in life are pretty new for him. Gage lived on a farm outside all the time so while he has perfect inside house manners and is so eager to please, he doesn’t know what is expected of him so needs a patient person to help him, step by step. Having a friend would make the transition so much easier. He doesn’t know anything about toy play yet but we’re hoping we can help him with that. Gage’s full coat makes him look bigger than he is, though he’s a 50 pound BC. He is fine with cats, in fact, afraid of them. He was living on a NY farm with an elderly couple who could not manage he or the other Bc so both came to GHF.

KEANE found a new life with a loving FurMom who adores herding breeds and wanted to have another one again. He slid in easily with his new canine pals as they hung out together at GHF for an overnight. Keane captured her heart with his sweet, gentle nature and as soon as he settles in, she’s excited to take him for beach walks which we know he will love. His friendliness is a perfect fit for his new Cape Cod Mass lifestyle! We’re so happy for this sweet boy to find what he deserves.

KEANE: A 2 year old Border Collie, Keane is as sweet and friendly as he is gorgeous! He is very outgoing, and exuberant ready to meet anyone. A toy boy, he loves anything that squeaks or can be thrown his way. He is also happy to entertain himself playing or racing around with other Border Collies. He’s great at making up chase games and would love a BC buddy for fun. He is smart and eager to learn though hasn’t had a lot of focused attention. He previously spent a great deal of time alone, crated in the basement for many hours cause his guardian had allergies. Fortunately, a dog lover stepped in to gain his freedom and he’s now truly enjoying racing around like a madman! A thoughtful Border Collie, he is sensitive if he feels he’s done something wrong so needs positive encouragement in all his training. Keane is about 40 pounds and good with cats.

SKYE found a new life with former GHF adopters who love the smartness of the female Border Collies and within minutes of meeting Skye, knew she was the one to fit their lives! Skye clearly agreed, happy to hop up on the couch next to her new FurMom and give a resounding vote ‘yes’! Skye will be with her 24/7 and even enjoy plenty of acres and a pond for swimming plus her FurDad will gladly take her to the nearby golf course for some real runs! We know Skye will love all the attention plus thrive with their kindness and devoted care.

SKYE: A 7 year old Border Collie, Skye is a toy girl who loves any retrieval games...soccer balls, regular balls, squeaky balls, footballs, frisbees...you name it, she will go for it. Skye is quite an athlete with lots of focus and drive to play! Skye really bonds with one person and enjoys the constant companionship of a close relationship which is what she’s used to. She isn’t super cuddly though, a bit more independent and thoughtful, typical of many female BC’s. Skye is a lead female, like most mature female BC’s and is fine outside romping with other dogs but best as a solo dog since she likes to be in the spotlight in her home. Skye can’t be thrown into new things too quickly because she needs time to digest what’s going on around but once she feels safe and comfortable, she comes to life with her toys. She is a sweet girl who will need caring guardians who allow her to unfold at her own pace. She is good with cats and about 40 pounds. She was relinquished to the Farm due to changing family dynamics that didn’t suit Skye’s happiness.

TYE found the ideal life perfect for him - with a canine pal who loves to chase, wrestle and play endlessly - and guardians who adore BC’s and felt he was just the cutest guy, a great fit for them and their new girl, Skye! So Tye and Skye will be with them 24/7 since they work from home plus they all head off to a nearby 400 acre farm for lots of dog play which these two pals will love! This gentle boy has the puppy qualities that made this match just fabulous to watch! A couple days in the overnight Getaway camp, gave these two plenty of time to bond, even turning the RV into their ‘home’, on duty together watching life at the Farm!

TYE: A petite 1 year old Border Collie, Tye is a very, very sweet guy who enjoys attention from everyone around him. He is eager to join in the action and very good natured, up for a big cuddle or a race around exploring outside. Tye is not as intense as some dogs so would enjoy companionship and possibly another canine pal. He was a stray in Ohio who thankfully made it to a shelter and then, GHF.

LUCY won the heart of her new FurMom when she met her earlier this year when she was volunteering at GHF. The timing was finally right this summer to come back to adopt and it is Lucy that again caught her attention so she’s heading off to their new life together. Lucy will have a BC buddy and two small canine pals, too but most importantly, her new guardian loves to train and challenge her dogs with lots of activities to do, shaping their potential in all kinds of ways. Lucy will absolutely thrive under her care and we know their heartfelt connection will bring great joy to both of them. Lucy spent time on vacation at GHF with her and even learned to swim! She’s heading off to Canada for a lifetime that suits her perfectly.

LUCY: A petite 1 1/2 year old Border Collie, Lucy is a sweet, focused, curious girl, very classic in her energy needs! She loves to play with other dogs and toys, equally. She is smart as a whip and loves learning of any kind. Quite a cuddler, she’s extremely good natured. Lucy adjusts easily to new situations and will really blossom in the right hands, with someone understanding her emotional, mental and physical needs. We’d like to give her a BC buddy since she’s so happy that way. Lucy is really wonderful with dogs! Lucy also has an interest in cars so needs to be in a rural setting to minimize the stimulation. She can jump a short fence easily so needs 6 feet or over ideally or an invisible fence. She is good with cats and about 35 pounds. Lucy was relinquished to GHF directly since her guardian knew she needed more than she could give her.

Many times at GHF, we see amazing bonds happen instantly where a person and a dog just click and it’s so crystal clear that they belong together…Suke met his new FurMom and within minutes, it was fantastic. This sweet boy and this lovely woman joined as real friends, heart to heart, so off he went to a life where he’ll be with her 24/7. He’ll be going to the campus to work with students, enjoy plenty of daily hiking and swimming and most importantly, be her true friend…exactly what he deserved as did she! We’re so happy to be a part of this special connection. Suke now lives in Massachusetts.

SUKE (SASUKE): A 2 year old Border Collie/Cattle dog mix, Suke is petite little guy, really quite adorable and engaged with his new freedom at the Farm. He’s quickly coming to life, a fast ball boy who loves to run and race around. He’s very observant, clearly a thinker sorting out everything around him. Suke is a cuddler too and finding everyone here to be his good pal instantly. This outgoing boy spent the past few months at a vet office while a custody battle waged at home with an allergic child who needed separation from the dog. He lived as part of the family up until recently but has never had a fenced space to really enjoy. Life now is clearly on the upswing for this sweet guy. He is good with cats and about 30 pounds. His previous PA guardian surrendered him to GHF, knowing he deserved something better.

Sweet ROXY found exactly the right guardians who are kind-hearted and loving, happy to share their hearts with this sensitive girl. They’d been waiting for the right BC mix to come to GHF and soon as they saw her, they wanted to visit GHF. Within moments of their hellos, they were smitten and so was Roxy. An overnight together before heading home to Canada, and Roxy decided she was THEIR girl for sure! She’ll have a great life with lots of land to explore and even a cabin on the water where she’ll go boating, swimming and hiking every summer!

ROXY: A petite 2 year old Border Collie mix, Roxy is a sweetheart, friendly and good natured. A gentle natured girl, she takes time to get to know you and then lets loose with the zoomies, racing around like a pup, happy as can be - adorable to see! She is a thoughtful dog and likes to observe what’s going on around her, like most female bc’s, soaking in what everything means. She loves to cuddle and enjoys her toys but is more easy going than a purebred. She lived with her littermate brother and another small dog in the home but does best as a solo dog so she was relinquished to GHF. She lived in one home since a pup and is best with dog savvy cats. She is about 35 pounds. She is trained on the invisible fence.

MAC, a 3 year old Border Collie has been enjoying herding games with other BC’s in a temporary foster setting while waiting for space to open at GHF. However, lucky for him a former GHF adopter was hoping to add another BC to their lives and upon meeting him, felt he would fit perfectly. Mac has gone off to start his new life, happily excited for all the action to start.
