DOUBLE YOUR DOLLARS to help Codey....
 Angels needed.

Codey's Angels & Supporters!!
Cathy & Steve Bouck, in memory of Brittany
Bridget Johnson & Jim Meredith

CODEY: A petite 9 year old Border Collie/Sheltie mix, Codey is a good natured guy who wants to be with his person. He quickly bonds to be by your side and happily relaxes. He is also quite the explorer in the yard and enjoys running around to check on everything. Codey would be happiest in a home where someone is home and he can keep them company. He is good with other dogs and interested in interacting with them but could easily be a solo dog. Codey came from NJ when his guardian could  not afford to fix his broken front leg. He had never been vetted and not taken care of properly. His leg was broken in three places and dangled as he walked. Most of the time he held it up but often actually placed the leg down for balance, a painful thing to witness. We corrected the problem by inserting a metal plate in his leg and realigning the bones so he could again use his leg properly. His front leg had shortened a bit to compensate for the injury and pain so once his new surgery is healed, he'll begin stretching the tendons and ligaments back in place and putting full weight on that leg. His prognosis is very very good.

The cost of surgery was $750.

We would appreciate support for this extraordinary expense.

Please DOUBLE YOUR DOLLARS
helping us with Scotte's unusual vet care.

Scotte is healthy but was in a shelter with a canine flu scare so we had to pull him out within 12 hours or he would loose his life. Dogs were being euthanized due to lack of funds to determine who had the flu or who did not. We spent $1200 in emergency boarding, in an isolation ward, with special bloodwork sent to Cornell and determined he did NOT have the flu. Fast action and big money (more than we'd certainly like to have spent) saved his life! We need help covering this unexpected cost.

SCOTTE: A 9 month old Border Collie, Scotte is all about playing. He loves chasing other dogs and is pretty good at catching them and then enjoys a good wrestle. He is not showing herding tendencies and could easily enjoy various dogs. Scotte is super sweet , a real cuddler and really wants to be with a person as well as a dog or two. He is one happy guy who enjoys himself thoroughly. Scotte is easy going, fun and smart. He is good with cats. He weighs about 40 pounds. Scotte was from a pa shelter where he had been a stray.

Special thanks to Sandy and Dennis Sprole and Michelle Militti who made sure Scotte got to safety at the farm.

DOGS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION

SNAPSHOT: TWO YEARS AND UNDER - PUREBRED BORDER COLLIES

These border collies need a very active, committed home with guardians  who truly understand the complexity, intensity and demands of the  breed. They usually do best with another young border collie though it  depends on dog chemistry. They require companionship and will not do  well left alone more than 3-4 hours a day

Other bc friends required

Cassidy & Courtney were named after two girl scouts from the Laurens Troop 232 who came to donate blankets, towels and toys and had a chance to say hello on the pup's first day!! The adoption fee is $325 plus a spay deposit check of $100 which will be returned with proof of spay.
COURTNEY: A 2 month old Border Collie, this little pup is unbelievable...a real BC, all ten pounds of her. She jumps up onto high beds, on the back of the couch, easily up onto end tables....she is more agile than some of the adult dogs we've had in rescue.  And, she is absolutely fearless about everything, including adult dogs. She can read other dogs well and knows when to stay out of the way or when to instigate play.  She fit into a pack of nine adult Border Collies as if she'd lived with them her whole life.

Courtney also loves all toys and is always walking around with a toy in her mouth, even if it's bigger than her.  Like most female Border Collies, she is also showing her strength with a little eye to a dog so she gets them to leave her toy alone.  Looks like Courtney is on her way to running an empire, and if she's in the right hands, she will be fantastic to experience as she matures.  She is also a real lovey, always in your lap (that's why she jumps onto the back of the couch!) and always wanting to sleep next to you or lay on you, that is, unless she's occupied with toys or other dogs.  She is in love with everyone but also quite the thinker. Her little wheels are turning all the time. Courtney is impressive. She is what makes this breed so amazing.

She will ONLY be placed in a border collie experienced home and with other Border Collies.  She would be a fantastic agility candidate!!!

KIZZEY: A 7 month old Border Collie, Kizzey is a brilliant young girl ready to tackle whatever comes her way. Kizzey is a gorgeous 'blue', the description for the rare grey color Border Collie. She enjoys learning and is very attentive and focused. She does great with other dogs and loves to play so will be placed with another young BC ideally. Kizzey is active but also thoughtful and settles down well, even for a pup. She is a classic Border Collie with a great mind and will blossom when her mind is used, as well as she gets the exercise she needs. She is not high drive, a bit more easy going, than some border collie pups.  Kizzey loves children and gravitates to them, especially quieter ones though she loves to retrieve balls and will happily play, she'll come right up and snuggle, too. Kizzey will be place with another young Border Collie since she is happiest having a friend for constant racing, chasing and wrestling play. She has not been tested with cats. She came from PA, from another rescuer who had taken in a litter of pups who needed safe haven and then, asked for our help.

COLT: A 7 month old Border Collie, Colt is all action. He loves to run and play and chase and enjoys playing with other Border Collies. He's sweet as can be and all ready to go! Colt is very very smart and eager to learn. He is not yet tested cats and weighs 35 pounds. He was a stray in PA. He is in temporary foster care and arriving at the Farm in two weeks.

Hoping to place them together

LUCY & SPY are gorgeous 8 month old Border Collies who are true to the breed, high energy, fun and focused and ready to go! They are very good natured and incredibly sweet. Lucy is the lead and more confident in tackling anything new, very curious and eager to please.  Spy is super sweet and loving and very happy to be with you, once he feels comfortable. They make all kinds of border collie games together, stalking and chasing and love toys. They are fast and focused. Both have great recall and Lucy even knows some tricks. They are each 40 pounds and good with cats. We want to place them together since they really get along well and enjoy herding each other and making up all kinds of games together. They both adore people as well, not jealous at all of attention paid to one or the other.  Lucy & Spy had an incident with a 5 year old child visiting their home who was knocked down and scratched, and nipped. The family loved these two but felt it was best to put them into another situation since they had a home with many young children visiting. Spy & Lucy were absolutely fine with their own children, age 5 & 8 so we have no worries about them. This was an unfortunate episode. Spy and Lucy are trained on the invisible fence They came to the Farm from a shelter in PA that works with us.

SPORT POTENTIAL

Special thanks to Barbara Nord, Jane Locacio and Elana Hulsey for making sure Dylan got to us.
DYLAN: A 7 month old Border Collie, Dylan is all energy and ready to go, go, go like any young BC. He is very eager to bond and wants to interact with every person he meets. He is super friendly and outgoing, curious about everything. We jokingly call him 'our resident rocket scientist'.  He can learn anything in an instant, offering the behaviors he knows in hopes he will do what will earn him the treat. He'd excel in clicker training and could be taught pretty much anything. Dylan is high energy and can jump straight up, all four feet off the floor and is super fast, so will need an outlet or his mind and body.  Dylan is a classic BC, with all the traits that make this breed so much fun and so challenging - He is smart, focused and very affectionate, a real loving boy.  Dylan is not good with cats and 35 pounds. He came to the Farm from a Long Island shelter where he had been a stray.

Gunnar's Angels
John & Bonnie Yurga - in loving memory of Amy
Esther & David Bozak in honor of Chad's anniversary

GUNNAR is a 1 year old Border Collie with ABCA papers who is incredibly agile, smart and focused. He can cross a field at high speed to retrieve a toy and be back in seconds..he is super fast. He also jumps all four feet off the ground and happily takes cues to be obedient, too. Gunnar loves to snowshoe and skijore, happy to be outside and on the move..he's the perfect hiking companion.  He's a character too: one time while snowshoeing in the woods, he ran off the trail to grab a big stick that was actually a branch hanging off the tree.   He was off all fours hanging from his mouth shaking the branch!  Gunnar likes people and enjoys a close interaction with someone who plays with him and challenges his mind. He is very affectionate and loving, a real snuggler, very gentle and good natured.  Gunnar has some food issues that are being resolved by hand-feeding him so will need someone who continues this approach.  He is good with cats.  He was relinquished from guardians with a houseful of kids who he enjoyed immensely. Gunnar is being fostered in Vermont.

SPORTS POTENTIAL

Jakey's Angel
Phil & Sue Hunt

JAKEY: A 1 1/2 yr old Border Collie, Jakey is an amazing athlete - he jumps all four feet right off the ground at least two feet. He is super agile, super fast and really eager to learn and execute whatever you ask him to do. Jakey is also very obedient and very very smart. He is a strong runner, loves toys of any kind and can cut and angle to retrieve a toy like any classic high drive border collie. Jakey is great with people and loves affection though he can be a little shy at first. He is a puppy still, so would benefit from activities that develop his mind and body at the same time, like agility or flyball.  Jakey would be happiest as the solo dog since his history created some stress for him about interacting with other dogs.  He is about 40 pounds and not good with cats. He was surrendered to the Farm from PA because the guardian's other older dog was beating him up. Jakey came from a PA breeder originally. Jakey is being fostered in Vermont and can be seen at the farm

CASSY: A 1 year old Border Collie, Cassy is so smart, alert and ready to focus on whatever is asked of her. She is a classic BC, with all the focus, speed and brilliance you would expect. She is so agile that for her, it's easier to cross the room, going over the furniture rather than around it. She also is able to balance on her back legs, standing fully upright so she can see whatever is above her normal vision with all four feet on the floor. Cassy is adorable and comical at the same time. She is great with other dogs and happy to have another Border Collie for herding games and play. She needs to be actively engaged with a person or canine friend. Cassy has been tested on sheep and is showing great promise to do herding. She could also easily excel in agility. She will only be placed in a sport home where she can be challenged in activities like herding or agility. She is good with cats and weighs 30 pounds. Cassy was left unattended without a fence so running the neighborhood, though she never went far. She was relinquished to the Farm from a nearby town. Cassy is being fostered in western NJ and can be seen there or at the Farm.

Marly's Angels
Bonnie & John Yurga, in memory of Marlene Merkel, Marly's namesake

MARLY: A 1 year old Border Collie, Marly is a gentle, super sweet girl who comes up for cuddling and kisses but is still skittish. She's blossoming each day and gaining confidence but will need a patient, quieter home. Now, she's wiggling her whole body when she comes over! She is great with other dogs and will be placed with another dog to help with her progress. Marly is 35 pounds and not yet tested on cats. Marly was from PA where she had been left to die, without food or care. We are happy to have her at the Farm and enjoy this little girl tremendously. She's camera shy but we hope to add more great pictures soon. Marly is named in memory of Marlene Merkel, the mother of one of our special Friends of the Farm.

MAC, a 1 1/2 yr old border collie, is very shy at first, but once he warms up to people he is the sweetest little guy ever.  Mac is very food motivated and knows that people with food are the people to be friends with! Mac will be placed only with a Border Collie savvy person since he has some confidence issues and will need training to help him in meeting new people. Having a person he can trust is important for Mac.  He thinks he is a lap dog, and will wiggle his way up onto any couch or chair and then into your lap.  Mac is quiet around the house, housebroken, great with cats and will do best with a female Border Collie friend, since he loves to play and can follow the lead of a more confident dog.  Mac is not terribly high-drive and is quite happy to be a low-key companion to his person.  Mac likes car rides, is great on-leash and is learning how to greet new people.  He is about 35 pounds. MAC came from a shelter in Vermont.

MAVERICK: A 1 1/2 year old Border Collie with ABCA papers, Maverick is a doll, so tuned into people and so eager to be involved with someone willing to throw the ball. He's super friendly with everyone. He would do well in any sport as he is fast, focused and so relationship oriented. Maverick knows all kinds of tricks and has great recall, too.  He's a wonderful good natured young Border Collie who definitely needs an active life. Once inside, he settles beautifully and is happy to hang out. Maverick has excellent recall and is great off leash, too. He is about 40 pounds and best with dog savvy cats as he will chase. He was relinquished from a NJ guardian due to a divorce. Maverick was a beloved family member living with children who played with him a lot.

SNAPSHOT: BORDER COLLIES MIXES - 2 yrs and under

These dogs are the best blend of what most people love - intelligence, playfulness, focus and a more balanced, easy-going nature. They are not intense, demanding, hyper and do not have herding or nipping instincts that drive an obsessive behavior to find work or make work.

SAMI found his forever home in Canada on 70 acres with a canine friend who likes to explore and hike, too. His new guardians spent the weekend at the Farm, hiking trails and found these two had a blast. He won their hearts with belly rubs and cuddling on the couch, clearly happy to have his new people and they were happy to have him. Sami bonded quickly and happily headed out to a wonderful life as their constant companion.

SAMI: A 1 year old Border Collie mix, Sami is delightful. He is not only unique and gorgeous in his markings, his personality is wonderful. Sami is sweet, gentle and so happy. He loves to play with dogs, wrestling, chasing and racing. He is fast, focused and fun. Sami is easy going and good natured and so wants to be with his person and have a canine friend, too. He is not high strung or overly intense but does love to play. He's also quite the cuddler and loves belly rubs. He is about 35 pounds and  is very curious about cats but doesn't want to hurt them, but best with dog savvy cats.  He was a stay in PA and landed in a shelter that works with us.

FENNE: A 1 year old Border Collie (possibly mix), Fenne has a wonderful temperament. She is so easy going and friendly, absolutely one of the happiest dogs in rescue. She is everyone's best friend instantly. Fenne is smart and focused so could do sports but could also enjoy being a constant companion to her person. She's a real lover, too, a cuddly, wiggly girl who loves attention. She is super agile, comes off the ground with all four feet and could outrace another dog pretty easily. Fenne is about 35 pounds, not yet tested on cats. She is great with other dogs and would love a canine friend but doesn't do well with little dogs. She is growing hair back from a possible flea allergy and will have a gorgeous coat soon. Fenne came to the Farm from PA where she had been abandoned in a shelter.

Tig's Angels
Patricia Ibach
TIG: A 1 1/2 year old Border Collie  mix, Tig is a live wire. He is all action and could easily compete in any sport activity. He is super fast, flying around the fields quicker than many other dogs. He also entertains himself with toys, flipping them in the air and enjoying games he invents. Tig is eager to meet children and settles quickly offering a sit and shake, loving to be connected to any person, young or old. He would be an incredible agility dog for a young teenager who really wants to learn about training. He will happily work for anyone. Tig is obedient and eager to please but when excited, easily clears your head, all four feet off the ground, able to give you a lick on your cheek. He is clearly an athlete. Tig is good with cats and about 40 pounds. He was a stray found outside a vet office in PA. They kindly took him into safety and we were contacted to find him a home.

great as solo dog or w/buddy

LOGAN: A 2 year old Border Collie mix, Logan is a very gentle, very smart, sweet guy. He is attentive to people and quickly wants to be your friend. He likes to play with toys plus enjoys other dogs and all the play of doggie games. Logan is observant of everything around him but not off the wall in energy level. Logan is not high energy or intense, he just loves to play with other dogs and cuddle with people, a very easy companion to enjoy and he loves everyone. He is clearly a wonderful good natured dog and is good with cats. Logan is 45 lbs, typical in size. Logan came from PA where he was a stray in a shelter.

DAISIE found the perfect life for her: she has a canine buddy who she can play with all day long but then heads home to her guardians to have all the spotlight on her. Since the parent's of her new FurMom are retired, they share a yard so that their dog and Daisie can play all day while her guardians are at work. It's perfect for this girl who just loves attention but also loves to wrestle, and race and chase, too. Daisie went from wandering the streets to a loving home with lots of fun. Her new guardians were totally smitten the minute they met her!! She now lives in upstate NY.

DAISIE: A 2 year old Border Collie/hound mix, Daisie found her way to the Farm one day and won our hearts. She is so much fun and a sweet, friendly, a love everyone kind of girl that we wanted to help find her a great new home. She loves to race after toys and has fun trying to fit two in her mouth at once, so excited to not leave one behind. She is quite affectionate and gentle, very well behaved and loving. She is fine with other dogs but would be happy as the solo dog since she's so people focused. Daisie is about 30 pounds and not good with cats. She was a stray nearby.

DOGS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION

SNAPSHOT: OVER TWO YEARS - PUREBRED BORDER COLLIES

These border collies are active and still require similar situations as young pups but once three and up, they can settle more easily and are less demanding so can usually make the best choice for homes with intermediate activity levels.  They are usually obedient, understand what is expected and want a strong human connection in order to be happy. They also require companionship and will not do well left alone more than 6 hours a day.

TOOTSIE: A 2 year old Border Collie, Tootsie is a gentle girl who loves being with you for attention but is so happy being able to run, run, run. She is gorgeous to watch as she takes a full gallop across the fields, with a toy in her mouth or just on her own. Tootsie loves other dogs and will herd them so would be happy with another Border Collie friend or as a solo dog in an active home. She is very eager to bond and loves people. She's become a very confident girl, eager to be in the middle of the action and loving attention. Tootsie is about 35 pounds and not yet tested on cats. She came to the farm from a NJ shelter where she had been a stray.  Tootsie is being fostered in Central NY and can be seen at the Farm

great as solo dog or w/ bc buddy

KATIE: A 2 year old Border Collie, Katie is an incredibly affectionate people oriented girl. She loves to be with a person. She also loves toys and can pick up speed while chasing, turning her into a flash of black fur. She tosses the toys up and around, making up her own games, too. Katie would be a great sport candidate or a wonderful companion in an active home. Katie is very gentle, sometimes a little shy, but, before long, she is right in your lap for attention. She is good with other Border Collies but best with submissive dogs since she is like most female Border Collie's, a stronger girl. She is good with cats and about 40 pounds. Katie will be placed in a rural setting or with a hard fence since she has an interest in cars which usually comes from boredom in her previous life. Katie was a stray in Ohio transferred to a NY colleague hoping she would work geese but felt she would be better as a companion.

TUCKE found the perfect people and life to help him trust that the world is really good. He made great progress here but needed the open hearts and patience of his new guardians to take him to the next level with love. He found just the right home and we're thrilled for this sweet guy. Innocent and sweet and shy, he'll surely blossom with his new Border Collie friends, one previously adopted from the Farm. He now lives in NY where he'll be adored.

TUCKE: A 2 year old Border Collie, Tucke is a sweet, easy going dog without heavy herding tendencies. He likes to race and chase other dogs and is happiest playing canine games. He is a very shy, undersocialized boy who will need a patient guardian who understands that gaining his trust will take time. Tucke is a very gentle Border Collie and once comfortable, will come for affection and truly wants more of a connection. He will do well at the Farm and blossom in a new life once adopted. Tucke will only be adopted with other dogs and with a hard fence since he can be skittish. He is about 40 pounds, typical in size for the breed and good with cats. He was abandoned at a PA shelter when the guardian became ill. Tucke is making such great progress:  he now comes up for attention and will enjoy time on your lap or near your side, gleeful in being with you.  It's been wonderful to see him blossom and trust people.

Mitzi's Angels
John & Bonnie Yurga
MITZI: A 2 year old Border Collie, Mitzi is a very gentle, sweet girl who is quiet and reserved inside but loves to race and herd other dogs outside. She has lots of energy for playing and eagerly wants to join in any games. She is shy around people but comes to life quickly with other dogs around and gains confidence with them so then easily approaches new people. She has a lovely personality and over time, with another dog, will blossom beautifully. Mitzi is smart and focused and could enjoy sports but also enjoys great herding games. She is 40 pounds and good with cats. Mitzi came from another NY rescue who felt we could better place her through our rescue.

CHLOE: A very happy, friendly 2 year old Border Collie with ABCA papers, Chloe is ready to go, go , go. She loves to go with her foster mom anytime, anywhere and she's an easy friend to be with. She is also quite the cuddler, happy to be next to you relaxing. She loves toys and would love an interactive life with a person giving her a job in sports or training since she's all about playing. She is very very smart and could learn quickly. Chloe is OK  with dog savvy cats.  She was surrendered due to issues with an 'in your face' toddler but lived with other older children and did just fine. She is being fostered in the Pittsburgh area and can be seen there or at the Farm.

MUNDEE: A 2 1/2 year old Border Collie, Mundee is a fabulous toy girl! She can catch anything and is fast as can be to bring it back. She loves to play endlessly and she'll entertain herself with her favorite toys, too. She is a really sweet, good natured cuddler who can relax with you or be all action, ready to go. Plus, she's smart as a whip and eager to be with her person learning anything. Mundee is best with submissive dogs since like many female BC"s, she's the leader. She is about 40 pounds and good with cats. She came from a shelter in PA when she was abandoned at a shelter due to a move.

Special thanks to Petra Hejnova for transporting him to safety.
RORIE: A 2 1/2 year old Border Collie, Rorie is a sweet, gentle dog who will blossom with patience and love. He is happy to cuddle and wants to be close but he will need a quieter home since he is sensitive. Rorie is smart and attentive and likes to be with other dogs so we'll place him in a home with another Border Collie so he'll feel more confident. Rorie is about 40 pounds and good with cats. Rorie was abandoned at Animal Control in NY when his guardian died.

BLAST:  A 2 1/2 year old Border Collie, Blast is smart as a whip.  She knows tons of tricks: sit, down, roll over, shake, back, wait, hugs, kisses and look, plus she absolutely loves to learn whatever you want to teach her.  She is super smart and loves toys of any kind.  She will retrieve anything you toss her way!.  Blast really bonds with her person and blossoms with the attention of being a solo dog, loyal and content to be your companion.  She is incredibly friendly with everyone she meets and able to jump to give you a quick lick on the nose to say hi.  Blast lives up to her name...a blast of energy and a blast of fun and love, too.  She was adopted from the Farm as a young pup and has been living with a pack of shelties.  Like most female Border Collies, she is the dominant female so it's best for her to have a home without other dogs or with a submissive male.  This is very common with this breed which is why we don't like to place females together. Blast is about 40 pounds. Blast can be seen at the Farm.

Other "easy going" friends or solo dog

SADEY: A very, very petite 3 year old Border Collie, Sadey loves people. She always seeks out whoever is near for a hello kiss and then is ready to play.  She enjoys toys and anything that focuses her mind.  Sadey is very focused and smart and could easily be a wonderful companion or enjoy sports since she's got the perfect tiny body for being fast.  She is not overly intense however and really enjoys just being with a person. Sadey is about 30 pounds and not good with cats  She is good with other dogs but needs easy going, submissive dogs since the lab/akita in her previous home started fighting with her and she is now worried about dogs.  Sadey is doing really well at the Farm, already playing with other Border Collies so in short order, will let some of these worries go.  Sadey came from PA.

Ozzy's Angel
John & Bonnie Yurga-Happy Holidays from Oscar

OZZY is a 3 year old Border Collie or Australian Shepherd.  He is a calm, sweet boy who needs someone he can bond with and love forever. Ozzy gets along great with other Border Collies and enjoys herding games. Ozzy is very, very  shy and can be skittish meeting people or in new situations, so will only be placed in a home with another herding dog or two to give him confidence. He tends to hide and will regress to being skittish when placed in a new home but once he is comfortable with his home, he is delightful.  He loves car rides and romping off leash and is great with kids. He will share food and toys and will wait his turn, a very well behaved boy! He is good with cats. Since Ozzy is skittish, he will only be placed with a hard fence. Once he knows his person, he sticks by their side and goes off leash just fine. Ozzy was a stray, rescued from a shelter in PA. The day we evaluated him was two days before he was to be euthanized, so tail or no tail, he came into rescue! He is presently being fostered in south eastern PA.

Thank you - Mollie supporters!

Nicole Peterson

MOLLIE: A 3 year old Border Collie, this beautiful girl is sweeter than sweet, absolutely so loving. She is a real hugger and loves to give kisses. She's also a big ball dog, happy to chase and play endlessly. Mollie has lots of drive and is very very smart.  Mollie also has a health issue that made Glen Highland Farm her last resort to live. She has a pancreatic enzyme disorder which means her meal is supplemented with a powder to pre-digest food. This is not that problematic but her enzyme disorder led to diabetes which unfortunately wasn't treated by her guardians due to lack of funds. Mollie dropped to 21 pounds when she should be at least 35 -40 pounds.

UPDATE: Mollie is doing so well, she's ready for a new home! Her health needs are now stable. She's running two- three miles a day and having a blast playing border collie games. She is a brilliant girl with the desire to play, play, play. Mollie is super sweet and loves everyone she meets.

CODY: A  3 year old tri-color merle Border Collie, Cody is a very very sweet, attentive boy who loves to be with people. He's loveable and loyal and happy to be a beloved companion.  He's lived with one family since a puppy and is quite a people dog,  being with his person, like a shadow. He gets along with other dogs, and is learning all about dog play in his foster home.  In fact , he loves playing outside and is having a blast chasing one of the other Border Collies in the house. Cody would be happiest having another dog since the fun of dog play is so great for him.  He is thrilled to go outside each day!  He is so happy to go for walks and even enjoys running along side his foster mom.  Cody is also learning to meet lots of new people since he's included in a much more active lifestyle now. He is good with cats and is caring a little extra weight, which will come off with exercise. Cody was relinquished from PA, due to family health issues. Cody had been living in the house for long periods so had become sedentary.  Cody is being fostered in central NY and can be transported upstate to be seen at the Farm

BOZLEY: A 4 year old Border Collie, Bozley is a wonderful, good natured guy who loves people and wants to be loved. He likes other dogs and loves to be in the middle of the action. He has lived in one home since a puppy but with the birth of a new baby and a move to a smaller home, the guardians felt he deserved more. He came from PA and is being fostered in the Pittsburgh area  and can be seen at the farm. We will update his bio shortly.

LOVEY: A 4 yr old border collie with ABCA papers, Lovey's name suits her well, she is a lover for sure. She loves people and responds quickly to attention and affection. She is a doll. Lovey is also very focused and a classic Border Collie with strong herding instincts. She could do anything athletic and in fact, chased geese at her former home. Lovey is a real swimmer and loves challenges. She is very very smart and very obedient. Lovey is a strong female so does best with submissive male Border Collies. She is about 35 pounds and not good with cats. Lovey was relinquished from NJ due to the family moving. She is camera shy so hard to capture her gorgeous beauty.

Lovey came back to the Farm for another geese chasing opportunity, swapping with Kipp, because the young female BC, Kaylee, we adopted there a few months ago, would not accept Lovey as the lead dog. Very common with female Border Collies to argue over who is boss, even if they are busy working

DAKOTA: A 4 1/2 year old petite Border Collie, this little girl is one frisbee fanatic! She lives for a throw and is so good at catching pretty much any toss, she's amazing. Dakota is a wee girl and so fast with quite a herding eye! She is super smart and very active when it's time to play but can settle inside well.  She can be shy at first so needs a calmer home where she can be the center of attention. Dakota is about 30 pounds and will herd cats but not hurt them. She can fit with other Border Collies easily but doesn't like pushy dogs in her face, very typical of the breed. She was relinquished to the Farm due to lack of time for her. She was originally from a breeder in Colorado, living in one home since a puppy and came to us from PA.

Hoping to place them together

Maggie's Angel
Susan Marriner

Jazz's Angel
Buddy & Ellie Powers

MAGGIE, age 5, and JAZZ, age 4, are half sister border collies who have lived together in the same home all their lives.  They will be placed together because they clearly love each other and get along so well. Maggie, is the more confident of the pair.  She loves to play fetch or tug and shows a lot of interest in tracking-type activities.  Jazz, is a Border Collie/Aussie mix, a bit more petite. She is the more cuddly of the two, enjoys herding her sister and playing "two-ball" - entertaining herself by playing with one ball in her mouth and batting one with her feet. Jazz is a little shy and relies on Maggie to help her feel safe. They are both super affectionate and love being with people, absolutely adorable girls to be with. They are also very smart and eager to please and not as intense as some. Both dogs are fast, focused, love car rides, are good with other dogs and with cats and are exceptionally loyal and obedient once bonded with their person. They both are from a NY guardian who can no longer meet their needs. They were her beloved friends since they were puppies and it clearly shows.

FLEET
:
A 5 1/2 year old Border Collie, Fleet is very very gentle and sweet, enjoying attention and time with his person. He is smart and attentive, a keen observer. Sometimes, when you're very busy, he'll get your attention by sitting down, looking directly in your eyes and offering his paw, almost as if to say, "hey slow down and come hang with me"! He is friendly with everyone he meets. He also loves to make up herding games with other border collies  so will be placed with another BC, even younger than him.  He loves to play. Fleet is very good natured and easy going, though enjoys chasing and running like any BC. Fleet is uncomfortable around young children so will be placed in an adult home. He is about 40 pounds and is good with cats. He was a stray in PA.  He is being fostered in NJ and can be seen at the Farm.

SNAPSHOT: BORDER COLLIES MIXES - 3yrs to 6yrs

These dogs are the best blend of what most people love - intelligence, playfulness, focus and a more balanced, easy-going nature. They are not intense, demanding, hyper and do not have herding or nipping instincts that drive an obsessive behavior to find work or make work.

NORA: A 3 year old Border Collie/Belgian Terv, Nora is a doll. Her beautiful silver markings on her face are from the Terv side  She is very very friendly to everyone and absolutely loves people. She is smart and responds quickly, coming the minute you call her name. Nora is also gorgeous to watch as she runs, a graceful girl with moves that show the Terv style. She can bound full speed to you and stop one a dime. Nora is great with other dogs , especially easy going ones, since she is a female. She is not good with cats since she mercilessly herds them. She came to the Farm due to issues with the sheltie in the house, from the NY area.

Well, she has a howling talk that sounds like singing and she happily talks to you all the time. Baby is adorable and friendly to everyone, really good natured. She loves to be with her person and would be happiest as the constant companion to someone or in a family with lots of people. She is good with kids and loves to play. Baby is good with other dogs though could live as the solo dog. She is 25 pounds and not yet tested on cats. She was given up by guardians in NY who couldn't afford to care for her properly. Baby is being fostered in NJ and can be seen at the Farm

ADOPTION

SNAPSHOT: SIX YEARS AND UP - PUREBRED BORDER COLLIES

These border collies are active, playful, eager to be with people and generally very focused on affection rather than toys. They do not have an intense need to work so make wonderful companions for homes who want a brilliant, intuitive dog who bonds instantly but also knows how to relax. They thrive with companionship and will not do well left alone for more than 6 hours a day. Sometimes at this age, a dog who has previously lived alone his whole life prefers to be a solo dog and really enjoys the spotlight.

**Many people overlook this age range because they fear the dog will die before they have had a long life together. The facts are reassuring - most border collies live to 12 - 16 years old and in fact, the oldest dog in the world IS a border collie who is 27, living in England! Odds are, this dog is still working!

Please consider opening your heart and homes to a dog who will really appreciate your love and attention, because YOU are the center of their life.

LEGO: A 6 year old Border Collie, Lego is a friendly, good natured Border Collie, who likes people and loves the ball. He is a really even tempered dog, a wonderful companion personality. He is good with other dogs though could be happy as a solo dog with his person or living with another easy going dog. Lego knows lots of tricks and apparently loves vanilla ice cream which he used to get every other weekend cause he was such a good boy. He will herd cats though not hurt them and is about 45 pounds, typical in size for his breed. Lego came from PA where he had been living in a very small home and a 12 x 12 yard for the last 6 months when his previous guardians moved so his new guardians felt it best to find him a better life.

Magey's Angels
The Arrison Family -in honor of Reggie & Onditka their "special needs" briards

MAGEY: A 6 1/2 year old Border Collie with ABCA papers, Magey is all about the ball, focused, fast and ready to go. She also loves the frisbee and lots of other toys, too. Magey would be more than happy to be the constant companion to a person and is a perfect canine good citizen. Magey is very intelligent and easily finds 8 or 9 of her toys by name (they came with her in her own bag) plus a dozen or so other words she understands completely, including of course, "shake". She is very active and loves to play but can also relax easily.  She is trained on the invisible fence.  Magey will chase cats so would probably be best without them in the home. Magey was relinquished to the Farm because her guardians are now retired and traveling and feel their lifestyle change means Magey is in a kennel too much. She came from NJ. Magey is being fostered in central NY and can be transported to the Farm to be seen.

Lucki's Angel
on behalf of MacCroi

LUCKI:A petite 8 year old Border Collie with ABCA papers, Lucki is a gem. She is a delightful, happy girl who loves people, a true cuddler.  She loves to sit on your lap or wiggle in right under your arm for attention.  Lucki wants to be by your side and happily enjoys going wherever you go. She knows all kinds of tricks and  easily shows off her brilliance.  Lucki lived with children but seems most comfortable with adults so she will be placed in a home with adults. She is best with submissive dogs since she's a classic female BC who likes to run her world though she's not pushy with easy going dogs.  She would be content as the only dog, too but she needs to be the companion to her people so would be best accompanying someone a lot of the day.  Lucki is a couch cuddler of course and enjoys sharing life side by side. She is great with cats.  She lived in one home as a pup and was abandoned at a NY shelter due to allergies.     Lucki is being fostered in central NY and can be transported to the Farm to be seen.

Otto's Angels
Alan & Lin Brown

OTTO: An 7 year old Border Collie, Otto is an amazing dog. He is so smart and so alert and responsive, having him around is like having a dog that has lived with you forever. Otto is wonderful. He loves to play ball, he is fast and agile and quite the catch with any toy thrown his way. Otto loves to retrieve balls and frisbees so much, he'll even dive underwater for them! Otto is quite the athlete, he can climb any fence and he loves to swim and loves to hike and explore. He also herds well. He is a talker with a little bark asking you to quickly throw his ball. He is great with other dogs though would be happy with a person as his companion who wanted to play. Otto can go off leash and enjoy a hike as well as enjoy hanging at home with you. He is about 40 pounds and good with cats. Otto was given up due to issues with the toddler in his house. He is fine with mature children. He came to the  Farm from PA.

MAGIE: An 9 year old Border Collie with ABCA papers, Magie is a loving, brilliant girl with a focus on people and action both. She loves to play ball and frisbee and she also loves to be in the middle of all that is going on. She is incredibly sweet and easy going, adapting easily to new situations. Magie is a classic Border Collie who has all the calm confidence that comes with this breed. When she was younger, she used to herd geese and it shows because she still has a ton of focus when the action happens. Magie is very gentle and a real cuddler. She  would be happiest as the companion to her person without other dogs. She was relinquished to the farm from her PA guardians who had grandkids and felt her working tendencies would be too much. She is about 45 pounds and good with cats. She is trained on the invisible fence. Mag is in a foster home in upstate NY and can be seen at the Farm

He is the center of attention wherever he goes, a gentle little guy with so much personality. Sam clearly wants to be with his person so would be thrilled to be a beloved companion. He is very very happy and responsive, a real comical dog, curious about everything. Sam does have impaired vision so sometimes bumps into things but quickly compensates and finds his way really well. He is 30 pounds and not good with cats. He was a stray in NJ where he was sitting in a shelter one month until a border collie lover spotted him and contacted us to take him in. Sam is being fostered in CT and can be seen at the Farm

Kandie's Angels
John & Bonnie Yurga - in honor of Robbie's 1st year anniversary

KANDIE: A petite 11 year old Border Collie, Kandie is a gem. She is interested in everything around her but most importantly, wants to be with her person. She happily sits by your side and enjoys belly rubs and affection. Kandie can be a little timid at first introductions but once comfortable, she is a wonderful companion. Kandie also loves squeaky toys, she happily carries them around, playing and will even bark right while she has a toy in her mouth! She loves to squeak the toy and herd other dogs, too. Kandie loves the car and does just fine at home when left alone. She is a classic Border Collie, very smart and attentive. She is ok with other dogs but doesn't like anyone in her face so could happily enjoy life as the solo dog.  She is not good with cats.   Kandie came to the farm from PA guardians who had to move into a retirement community and could not take her. She lived with them for 10 years. Kandie is being fostered in NJ and can be seen at the Farm

Special thanks to Deb Norman for helping Kandie get safely to the Farm.
