Sweet, little MERRY found exactly the right life for her - 100 acres of countryside to call her own which she will love, a BC buddy who can show her the ropes, and guardians who are crazy about Border Collies, having had quite a few. Plus, Merry's new FurMom loves to train and shape behaviors, whether it's tricks or obedience or agility, Merry will get to try it all. And, she'll even be the demo dog in classes, which means Miss Merry will learn all kinds of things and be the star of the class. Most importantly, her new FurMom and FurDad understand her worries with respect to meeting men that scare her so they'll work hard to make that all easier for her, too. We're very excited for Merry. She now lives in Canada.

MERRY: A 1 yr old Border Collie, Merry is a gorgeous girl, smart and focused and eager to learn. She's very very sweet and bonds quickly with her main person, in this case her Foster Mom. She's been introducing Merry to lots of new situations where she has been blossoming. She does, however, have some worries meeting some larger men so will only go to an experienced BC home. She will need guardians to continue guiding her through new situations with positive training techniques. Merry is now having good experiences meeting men but without help, could revert to her worries, barking and lacking trust, possibly nipping. Many BC's are wary when overwhelmed so since Merry is young, she has a chance to overcome her history. Merry loves other Border Collies and will need a confident BC or two to be her mentor. She will chase cats so will be best without them. We want to place Merry in a more rural setting and an adult home. She is about 30 pounds and being fostered in PA and can be met at the Farm.

DYSON found exactly the home he needed and he fit like a glove...doing beautifully with 10 year old DRU and little Taz, too. He was connecting to his new FurMom, eager to play ball or follow her around for whatever was next, ready for action - exactly what she was looking for!!!! Dyson will get to do agility, try treiball and whatever other neat canine activities she can find for him. She loves agility and has had many herding dogs so will jump into that with him, right away. But, he also gets the best of both worlds, with 90 acres to call his own and he'll be her constant companion 24/7 wherever she goes! Dyson waited awhile to find what was perfect and he did!! We're so happy for this wonderful BC who deserved a GREAT life. He now lives in PA.

DYSON: A 1 1/2 year old Border Collie, Dyson is a sweetheart. He loves to say hello to new people and is a sweet guy, happy to be with anyone he meets. When the toys come out, he loves to play - his classic BC focus comes through quickly and he's ready to go. Dyson is a very smart BC and loves to have challenges and enjoys learning.  He also loves to race, chase and wrestle and having a young BC friend really helps with his energy needs but he does best with soft, submissive dogs. Dyson is already showing traits of being the 'lead' dog at times so will do best with a savvy BC person if he has a canine friend. However, he could be very happy as the solo dog with an active guardian where he can be a real companion to them. Dyson is very responsive to whatever is asked of him, even by strangers. He is a great hiking partner with fabulous recall and connection to the person he is with, such a joy to watch Dyson is about 30 pounds, good with cats and given up due to too many dogs in the home. He came from a NY guardian who wanted GHF to help out.

Sweet WYATT chose his new guardians just as much as they did him. He cuddled right up, laying right next to his new FurMom and her daughter as if he had been their dog all along. His new guardian was so excited to see his gentle nature because she has always wanted to do therapy dog work but the former GHF BC from us, wasn't not suited to it. So, now, not only will Wyatt get to go to work with her each day, he'll get a chance to try helping lots of people feel loved. We have a strong feeling that therapy work is exactly this boy's calling so we're waiting to hear how this all unfolds. Wyatt headed out to his new life with his canine buddy who needs his help learning to feel confident with people - we know Wyatt is just the perfect role model cause he loves everyone! He now lives in Vermont. He'll enjoy the gorgeous countryside of Vermont, too!

WYATT: A 3 year old Border Collie, Wyatt is a sweet guy, enjoying lots of attention and cuddling. This cuddler also likes to check out everything around him and is curious about the Farm and all that's going on. He is good natured and really loves people, especially men, likely to follow any of the Farm guys around all day. Wyatt is also easy with other dogs, though he seems to really prefer female BCs, happy to wrestle and play endlessly. He could be happy with a friend or as a solo dog.  He is about 40 pounds and good with cats.  Wyatt was abandoned at a PA farm.

yea!!! BAYLEA found a marvelous family who instantly knew she would fit their lives perfectly and they wanted so much to give her a home! She'll have a nice yard and get to go work with her new FurMom where she'll have 32 fenced acres to play and explore which Baylea will love! This sweet girl so deserved people devoted to her and as her new FurDad said, 'this is her last stop!' So Baylea is one her way to NY to be adored for all her sweetness and brilliance.

BAYLEA: A 5 year old Border Collie, possibly mix, Baylea is a sweetheart. She absolutely loves every person she meets - no one is a stranger for this girl! Her good nature shines through even in a new situation like rescue where she would prefer a lot more time with someone who is devoted to her. She would be a wonderful companion, loving to go wherever her person is and her friendly nature makes it easy to take her anywhere. Baylea is smart, observant and eager to please with a confident nature that makes her fun to be with...she's game for anything...a good stroll, a run in the snow or just tossing toys. She is a really nice girl whose been bounced around a lot through no fault of her own. Her recent guardian left her behind, along with the boyfriend and children so she was posted on craigslist. When she didn't quit fit the person who took her, she was then passed to someone else so within three weeks, she had three homes til she landed here at GHF. We are committed to finding a fabulous forever home for this girl who is so deserving of love and happy to give it right back, instantly. She is about 40 pounds and good with cats.

This wonderful pair found a new home through the GHF site when their new guardians spotted them and fell in love. They went to visit them in their home and Bella & Rizzy won their hearts in person, too so they are now about to have a new life! We're happy to help with a home-to-home adoption whenever possible!

Bella (front) and Rizzy (split-faced BC) are incredibly friendly purebred 5-year-old females who, although not related, have lived together their entire lives.  They are so good with people coming and going that the postman sometimes comes by to say hello to them even when he has no mail to deliver!  They love petting and attention, even from strangers, and are very polite.  Both have very good recall and can be taken for off-lead walks and toy play.  Bella is the ball player, and Rizzy likes to herd her when she does, which Bella does not mind.  Bella "reads" other dogs very well and enjoys playing with friendly dogs.  Rizzy is polite to dogs such as Bella who respect her, but would rather have a person's attention than play with another dog.  They are well-loved family members, but there is not enough time for active dogs with three small children in the home.  They are in their home in the Syracuse, NY area, waiting for space to become available at the Farm.

JESSIE: A 6 year old Border Collie mix, Jessie is a super affectionate girl, a real cuddler. She is also all action...she is fast, fun and can leap off the ground in one fearless jump. She loves toys of any kind and has the athletic style which would make her great for sports. She's done some agility and loves the frisbee. Jessie is also a sweetheart and loves to play with other dogs. She is a physical player and will wrestle and chase and with the right dog, they have a blast. She is very smart and responsive to what is asked of her. Jessie is a good natured happy girl but does need an outlet for her energy and mind, like any young Border Collie. She has a bobbed tail which could be from injury or birth, we don't know. She was adopted out at age 2 and returned recently due to her protective issues in her yard when people unexpectedly came into the backyard. Her previous guardian had a home office setting with many visitors so we want to make her home life less complex and find a very active guardian to engage her. She loves  children of any age. Jessie is good with cats and about 45 pounds
JESSIE found the ideal people who understand her brilliant and focused nature and knew she would do well in their setting, loved and given plenty to do. They also met REMIE and knew that she, would be a perfect complement to their boy Murphy who needed a big time playmate...so Jessie and Remie found their new homes, together! With plenty of acreage and people devoted to them who really love having a group of dogs, these two headed out to a new life where they will be adored, challenged and most of all, their beloved companions. From sleeping in the bed, to playing in the woods to learning new challenges like agility, these two girls have found a wonderful life and their new canine friends, will love them! Jessie & Remie now live in NY.

REMIE: A 4 year old Border Collie/Aussie, Remie is a gorgeous girl and full of spunk. She is hilarious to watch as she races and jumps fully extended down over a sloping hill - she just loves to move! She is a sweet girl, absolutely friendly as can be and eager to say hello to everyone. She is great with other dogs and would be happiest with a friend and instantly befriended her roommates at the Farm, having a grand time, making up chase games. She is playful and smart but not as intently focused as purebred BC's so not quite as demanding. She has lots of energy so needs an active guardian who loves herding dogs. Remie is likely to play with cats so will do best with dog savvy cats. She is about 50 pounds, a tad overweight but will knock some pounds off with all her running. She is named after the dog lover who found her as a stray in PA. She tried for two weeks to find her previous guardian but no luck so Remie came to GHF.

BUDDY came to the Farm just in time to meet his new guardians who arrived looking for a friend for GHF alum, Tippy. Tippy got to meet a few boys, all of which were interesting but it was Buddy that she instantly chose - these two seemed like best buds from long ago - a very sweet pairing to watch unfold. So, Buddy came to the Farm and went right out to a great new life of love, fun and a forever home. He now lives in PA. Camera shy Tippy tried to avoid her photo opportunity but off camera, she was one happy girl to have a friend again after another GHF alum, Lacey, passed away.

BUDDY, A 2 year old border collie (mix), Buddy is a good boy who lives with children of various ages and four other dogs and cats, getting along with everyone.  The family is heartbroken to have to give him up but one of the children has developed a health problem and the doctors have advised all the dogs be rehomed.  Buddy is waiting for space at the Farm. He is not yet neutered, housebroken, and knows some basic commands.  He is currently in his home in Pittsburgh PA and can be seen there. GHF will handle his neutering before placement, even if from his current home.

ANGEL (formerly Tobie) found his new life quickly when he met his new FurMom two days after landing at the Farm. She so wanted a new pup to join her life and he was here right when she was ready! He'll have a great outdoor life - hiking, snowshoeing, beach runs and daily canine fun with all the dogs that come for boarding at her daycare business - non-stop play! She burst into tears soon as she saw him so Tobie headed out to a life of love!

TOBY found the perfect guardians who fell in love with his sweet nature and understood his BC ways to play, ball ball ball!!  Toby charmed them and off he went to his new life with his new BC friend, Maggie....both happy to join together sharing a loving life!  Toby now lives in NJ.

TOBY: A 2 year old Border Collie mix, Toby is a friendly boy who is interested in people and happily says hello to everyone. He loves toys and makes up his own chase games, hoping you'll follow him. He is really interested in playing with other dogs and has a friendly style that works well with easy-going dogs.  He has no herding tendencies so is more of a chase and play boy. He could enjoy another canine friend or be totally happy as a solo dog with someone who adored him and gave him an active outlet for his mind and body.  Toby is good natured and curious about everything. He is about 40 pounds and best with dog savvy cats since he might chase.  He came to GHF from a PA shelter where he had been abandoned when his guardian could no longer care for him

Sweet BUD found guardians who wanted a great, good natured, fun-loving boy who could join their life and go anywhere with them and Bud fit the bill! Of course, once they met him, they were thrilled and knew he would head home to Rhode Island with them. He'll have plenty to do, hiking outdoors, plus learning all kinds of things including agility, since his new FurMom is a dog trainer and loves to shape behaviors. Bud loves to work, so he quickly learned what it meant to come to them with a click and some cooked chicken - sending the message that these new people were perfect for him! Bud of course showed that sweet nature aside from his food motivation, and won their hearts!

BUD: A 5 year old Border Collie mix, possibly Collie, Bud is a doll. He is friendly and happy and thinks everyone is his best friend. He wants to play catch and race and chase with the soccer ball, being the best goalie he can. Bud loves other dogs too and quickly wants to make up canine games. But, he most certainly is more focused on people and would love to have his person again. He has enjoyed family life until a recent divorce brought him to GHF. He is obedience trained and very willing to please, happy to be wherever people are and do what is asked of him. Bud is also good with cats. He's about 55 pounds and a bit taller like a collie. He came to GHF from PA.

Little BLISS now known as Maddie, found a life where she can rein supreme! Her own farm with 41 acres to keep track of along with sheep, yak, a canine buddy Thora and two guardians who just love herding breeds. They were thrilled to see the confidence in little Maddie as she met them and showed all her personality! She of course cuddled like crazy and happily said a big YES to them, as they did to her! She now lives in PA where she'll be the constant companion to her furMom and join her FurDad on all the farm chores each day.

BRIGID found the perfect person to stimulate her mind, body and spirit! One of our former adopters is a serious agility competitior and was quite smitten by her face and personality so she decided to adopt! Not even thinking of adding a pup, she felt drawn to this little one. We know Brigid will have a life full of learning and fun, with just the right person and canine buddies. She now lives in Vermont.

BRADEN found exactly the right person who would understand his brilliant and focused nature as well as stimulate his mind with lots to do - from agility to hiking to learning lots of dog activities - his new FurMom loves to train and shape behaviors. And, she understands his cattle dog nature, too so he'll have exactly what he needs to flourish! He now lives in CT where he'll be an agility star for sure!

Sweet CELA found her new life!! She's living with another BC buddy who has confidence and can guide her out into the new life she so richly deserves! Her new guardians felt they could welcome this sweet girl into their hearts and home and love her dearly. She now lives in PA where they'll continue helping her step by step, trust that life is wonderful. It's been two years and clearly Cela has come a long way to find a new life where someone understands her history and knows she will grow to be more secure as time goes by!

A very special thanks to Anne Cattaneo and her family (outside showing Cela's confidence for a walk) who helped Cela get ready for this incredible moment! And, already we've got a sweet picture of sweet Cela on her new couch!

CELA:  A 3 year old Border Collie, Cela has a nickname in her foster home - "the happy girl" - cause she is always happy to see someone and does her 'happy dance' wiggling with tail wagging.  She wants attention from people and is curious about everything. She does need the help of BC friends around so she can more easily trust people and if someone has a treat to give her, she's even more eager to say hello.  Cela is doing well off leash now and will come to 'cookies' so she is very food motivated which goes a long way to help her with any fears. She also loves toys, collecting as many as she can in her crate, to call her own.  Cela is one of the 167 dogs confiscated from a Texas 'breeder' so needs a supportive guardian that will help her continue to grow and trust.  She likes to be touched but she can't be rushed and just needs reassurance with food or dogs, that it's safe.  Cela absolutely loves to play with another dog so will thrive with a young BC friend.  She is about 40 pounds and is good with cats.  This brave, trusting BC is really thriving in a new life of love and attention and fun.  She is ready to take that next step into a home. Cela will only be placed with another playful BC and someone who is patient.

Marvelous MACKAYLA found the right people who understand the breed and were so quickly charmed with her, they knew she was going home with them! She showed off that sweet, sweet nature and also that crazy ball focus of hers all the while, cuddling and nudging for attention. Their home will again be filled with Border Collie love, having had many in their lives, they just cannot be without another! Mackayla now lives in NY and will enjoy the great outdoors at their camp as well as tons of ball play! She'll be with them 24/7!

MACKAYLA: An 8 year old Border Collie, Mackayla is wonderful. She's super friendly with people and wants to say hello to anyone and everyone, clearly oriented to be a companion. Mackayla takes direction from anyone and aims to please, a classic BC trait that also shows how well she was cared for and managed in her life. She plays ball happily and endlessly but with a quick command, she'll lay down and take a break. Soon as you call her name, she's right by your side. Mackayla was a beloved family member since 10 weeks old but due to a move, was surrendered directly to GHF. She is good with other dogs but does like a dog who respects her space. Previously, she lived with 3 dogs but she's much more focused on being with her person. She's very affectionate and loves attention, too, an all around wonderful girl. She came to GHF from New Hampshire. She's good with dog savvy cats and a bit overweight, which she'll knock off easily here running with the other dogs.

Little BRIAR is about to have a big life that will suit her perfectly! Her new guardians have had plenty of herding dogs including blue heelers since they have horses and run a rodeo, too. She'll be one busy girl at their Farm and join GHF alum, Griff, who they adopted not long ago. We're thrilled for Briar who showed her brilliance instantly as well as her boss tendencies so a farm to call her own with LOTS of jobs to do, is what she needed! She now lives in NY.

She is the most focused, observant and attentive of the group. While she is loving and super sweet, she is clearly a girl on a mission. She needs a purpose. Briar is VERY intelligent, in-tune and the most cattle dog in personality, sharp as can be so really needs someone who understands the complex thinker that she is now and will be later. She's getting along beautifully with all the adult BC's and quite an 'old soul' pup.

Adorable BENNY found a great life full of tons of stuff to do with someone who understands cattle dogs and loves the breed! He'll have canine friends to keep him busy and get a chance to try tracking and agility, too as well as plenty of hiking on his own 50 acres! Benny will also go to work each day on a 3300 acre county park joining his new FurMom with her naturalist duties! So, to say Benny has a big life with plenty to do and the right person to do it with is an understatement. Way to go Benny!  He now lives in PA.

MEET BENNY, happy to join in the action and be part of the fun.

Sweet, brilliant SASHA will have a big life that she will love - with her new guardian 24/7 on his 400 acre farm in Maine...sheep, goats...hiking, camping... swimming in the river..you name it, Sasha will get to do it! Soon, we'll see her riding on the ATV as he heads out all over the property. Of course, she'll also have plenty of ball and frisbee time since her new FurDad loves this breed, having had many and knows exactly how to meet their needs. We're really happy for this great girl and her new guardian who's planning to come back for a friend for her soon.

SASHA: A 2 year old Border Collie, Sasha is extremely bright and very focused, especially for her ball games! She is a serious ball nut and will be thrilled to live with someone who enjoys exercising her with lots of games, including frisbee. She is also incredibly sweet, too and loves attention, happy to cuddle. Sasha would be happiest with someone who understands the mental, emotional and physical needs of a Border Collie since she is a classic high energy girl. She sometimes has fearful reactions to strangers so needs help with introductions and will only go to an adult home. She does settle inside well and loves playing with other young BC's so could easily have a canine buddy. Sasha is very obedient and eager to please. She lived in one home since a pup, with another dog, but the PA guardians felt they didn't have time for her anymore. She is about 50 pounds, and will knock off some weight with the games at the Farm.

Sweet EMIE found a new life that suits her to a "t"...she's the constant companion to her new guardians, joining them in a great life of love and fun. They have a wonderful outdoor setting which will delight Emie so she can chase the squirrels and little creatures she loves to track. Most importantly, she will be adored as their beloved canine friend which makes Emie the happiest girl around. They knew soon as they saw her on the site that she was exactly the girl for them! She now lives in NY.

EMIE: A 5 1/2 year old Border Collie mix, Emie is a sweet girl who loves to play and be with her person. She's cuddly and loving and can easily relax by your feet, not demanding anything but a connection with a person who understands her. Emie is smart and eager to please but she is not a herder since she's a mix so is not high energy or demanding to play non-stop. Emie is more of a companion and loves a simple life, with her person and a nice yard for exploring. She has her Canine Good Citizen degree and basic obedience training. She was the companion to the young 12 year old in the house, his good friend, bringing him out of his shell. He's now all grown, gone to college and when her guardian added two young mix puppies, Emie could not get along easily with them so she was returned to the Farm. She was adopted in 2007 at 5 months old (see picture) and now finds herself out of a home again. We were deeply upset by this turn of events but totally committed to helping Emie find an appropriate life suited to her needs. She is about 40 pounds and not good with cats. She is trained to an Invisible Fence and totally respects the boundaries.

NYE was thrilled to meet his new guardians, spending time running around in the snow on a gorgeous sunny day! He won them over with his sweet nature and playful toy interest, exactly the energy and fun spirited dog they were looking to take home! They are super active, outdoor people so he'll be doing a lot of hiking which he will love! His more camera shy nature showed up in his photo, but he was only Mr. happy go lucky spending time with them. The irony is that he is heading to a new life in Maryland and that's where he came from!

NYE: A 1 1/2 year old Border Collie mix, Nye is a sweet guy who wants a person to call his own - he loves being with someone. Super friendly, this boy captured everyone's heart during the transport to the Farm, befriending everyone. Nye is curious and confident, exploring anything new and will clearly benefit once settled in a home again. He loves the tennis ball and will happily play with any ball tossed his way.  He likes playing with other dogs but seems more comfortable as a solo dog. He is good with dog savvy cats and weighs approx 45lbs. Nye was a stray in MD, landing in a shelter that works with rescue.

PEAK found exactly the one in a million place that would understand his quirks and love him just the same - we are so thrilled! He is joining GHF alum, Bailey/Hope who roomed with Peak when she was here and those two, clearly worked out their relationship so much so that when they returned to find a friend for her, they met Peak. Those two, as before, hit it off beautifully! Peak and Bailey now have a forever life together and really enjoy each other….clearly two peas in a pod, so to speak. We are just thrilled for PEAK who deserved a wonderful life with people who understood that his start was a rough one…he is a gem and now has a life of love and fun!! He now lives in NY. Funny that Peak was the birthday wish from his new FurMom who wanted to come for a friend and felt that the Farm would find that for Bailey and for her, too! Happy Birthday and a big celebration for Peak!!!!

PEAK: A 1 1/2 yr old Border Collie, Peak is a classic, fun-lovin' boy who wants to play, play, play. He is very smart and observes everything going on around him, ready to join in the action. Peak loves to cuddle and likes everyone he meets. He is an adorable, joyful BC.  He's also great off leash and loves to hike, staying right by your side. Peak loves to swim, a real water boy.  He will however, require a BC savvy guardian and a more rural setting where he can have an outlet for his energy. Peak has some handling issues and does not react well to be restrained, picked up or moved by his collar which we would not recommend anyway.  His history appears to have some 'man-handling' in it.  He bonds very quickly with someone who understands him. Peak is about 30 pounds and not good with cats.  He is best as a solo dog. Peak will only be placed in an adult home. He was relinquished directly to the Farm from NYC because the city setting was not ideal for him  Peak is great off leash and loves to run on the GHF trails, swimming, racing and playing!

The marvelous miss SADEY landed right where she needed to be! Her new guardians are active, outdoors all the time and love the energy of herding breeds. So, Sadey joins her buddy, Blue, for a lifetime of chasing, racing and romping as they go hiking each day.  She'll have plenty of fun exploring the trails near her new home as well as the rough and tumble play of her buddy which she absolutely loves too! We're so happy for this sweet girl who now has everything she needs - love, action and a forever home! She lives in Rhode Island

SADEY: A 1 1/2 year old Border Collie, Sadey is so smart and aware that she radiates that she's "happy as clam" to join in the fun! She's a classic young BC with lots of energy and looking for a place to use it. Sadey is very responsive and loves to have a connection to her person, bonding quickly. A big 'hugger' and cuddler, she's a lovely sweet girl. She is also quite the thinker so will do best with a BC savvy person who understands her focus and interests. She is super fast and could easily excel in sports. Sadey is VERY athletic and could also be a great hiking partner. She absolutely loves to play with the other BC's, quickly making up games so she will be placed with another Border Collie or canine friend.  Sadey is about 35 pounds and best with dog savvy cats since she will chase when bored. Sadey was certainly bored in her previous home, without any mental challenges. Her former NY guardian bought her not knowing she was very unlike her collie and would be busy, busy, busy. She felt she could not meet her needs and abandoned her at a shelter that thankfully, passed her to GHF.

REGGIE now has everything he needs for a fabulous life - a great guardian who adores this active breed and understands their needs, a BC buddy Tilly who is as busy and ball and frisbee oriented as he is, and a home with lots to do including agility or flyball or whatever she feels will keep Reggie happy! His new FurMom loved him instantly and then overnighted with him and that sealed the deal! This action boy is quite the love bug as she discovered and knew he was the right combination for her life! Reggie now lives in CT.

REGGIE: A 1 1/2 year old Border Collie, Reggie is a very tuned in, observant guy who loves to check everything out and then turn into action, racing and running full speed. He is a real character. Reggie is also a thinker so does best in new situations, when he feels his person his nearby so he understands what is expected of him. Eager to please, he gains confidence from his person. He is good with other dogs and could live with another BC or possibly alone, depending on the activity level of his life. Reggie loves to race and chase but settles well inside, happy to be on the couch near you, for cuddles. He lived in one home since a pup and is not good with cats.  He came to the Farm from PA guardians.Reggie bonds quickly with his person but does like to venture off exploring the environment so will need a fenced yard.

TREVOR has THE life any Border Collie would want and luckily, it's his!! - 2,000 acres to call his own to explore, watch over and make his 'job'. His new FurDad is responsible for the land and its use as a summer Boy Scout camp so now, Trevor is responsible, too. His guardian was looking for a great off-leash BC to join him in all his duties and that is most certainly this boy. However, more importantly than great recall, he wanted a buddy and that's what Trevor needed too…the two of them, along with his daughter, fell in love with this gentle boy who loves to soak up attention and share his heart…clearly the right fit for everyone involved. Trevor is all action AND all love and now lives in Rhode Island, in his forever home.

TREVOR: A 3 year old Border Collie, Trevor is a classic BC with all the focus, smarts and physicality inherent in this breed. He looks to a person for direction and is eager to please and be part of a partnership. He is very, very intelligent and could easily be a great friend, accompanying his person in daily activities. This boy is a sweetheart too, a real cuddler who loves attention. And, then once he's shared his heart, he's off in a flash, gorgeous to watch run. He does love to make up herding games with other BC's and really syncs up with them to herd and chase, absolutely fabulous to watch. Trevor did come from Wyoming originally where his tail was trimmed since he was a working dog (a common practice out west) but he then moved to PA on a 45 acre horse farm. Trevor and the horses was not a good combination so he was relinquished to the Farm. He is fine with cats and about 50 pounds.

Sweet JEMMA found her person and watching this unfold, it was clear she had found her dog, as if they were reunited after a long wait being apart. Sometimes, when an adopter calls about a particular dog, it's just so clear that THAT dog is THEIR dog and nothing will undo that feeling and so it was with this match. Jemma's new person just knew it was meant to be so within minutes of meeting her, she was ready to go! And, so was the sweet, adorable, comical Jemma!! She now lives in NY as her constant companion which both will love.

JEMMA: A 5 year old Border Collie mix, possibly w/Aussie, Jemma is a gem! - cute, sweet and funny…she is just a hoot, full of personality! She talks to you when she wants the ball and when you're not paying attention just to say…hey, what about me?!! She, of course, quiets down and settles in well but she's clearly got something to say about a few things. Jemma is very, very sweet, friendly and totally a ball maniac - you throw it, she's going to get it and if you'd be kind enough to throw it again, she'll get it again. This charming girl wants nothing more than to be with her person and have fun. She is about 40 pounds and good with cats. She's also great with other dogs but she'd rather be with her person. Wherever you go, Jemma is very close behind, a little shadow - really not needing a fence. Jemma was a NJ stray in a shelter that thankfully works with GHF.

Mr. MORGEN or Mo-Mo as he has been affectionately called, found his new life in a circuitous route indeed!!! Morgen was fostered by a great person who helped give him a lot of confidence in everything he did, even bringing him to GHF for vacations but as she looked ahead to her own life, felt perhaps someone else could be better for him. So, after a year of fostering, she had mixed feelings but agreed to send him back to GHF to find his forever home. We all wondered how this would work out and the answer just revealed itself!! She came to volunteer for a week and realized that something was missing - it was MO MO himself. He'd been sent off to foster care for another chance to grow and change even further which led her to realize that SHE was the one that was HIS person, not another foster home and not another forever home - it was she who missed him and loved him and knew he was her HEART DOG! He belonged with HER!

So, Morgen is headed back to the one and only real life he's ever had…in Rochester NY, where life unfolded step by step, thanks to the love of his new FurMom and his canine buddy, Abby, who helped too. From a horrible history of 167 dogs left to fend for themselves in Texas, he'll never need to remember that hell of a life cause TODAY, he is FINALLY HOME!!! LOVED, ADORED AND WANTED.

MORGEN: A 7 year old Border Collie, Morgen or 'Mo-Mo' as he's affectionately known is quite a character! He is interested in everything going on around him and even learned the 'Peek-a-Mo' game where his foster Mom got him comfortable with her glancing at him so now he knows how to play and makes great eye contact.  He loves his cookies and will come up and enjoy a little rub under the chin rub or ear scratch, too getting braver over time and offers a nudge to get another treat.  But Morgen really comes alive out in the yard when he's entertaining himself playing with toys, adorable to watch. He's also an incredible herder so loves having a BC buddy to herd and 'work' though he never pushes too hard to make other dogs uncomfortable. Morgen is quite amazing to watch.  He can be very shy at first but comes around in the presence of another dog and he's enjoying car rides and leash walking and even going to pet stores so he's making great progress. Morgen is one of the 167 dogs confiscated from a Texas 'breeder' so while he's  a very smart guy with a curious nature, he's still learning to trust that life is great so needs a patient guardian to keep introducing him to new things at HIS pace. He is best with dog savvy cats since he loves to herd them and is fascinated by their every move.  It's easier for Morgen to understand everything in life with a canine friend but he might also be ready to be a solo dog with just the right person.  He is about 50 pounds

Sweet, gentle RYLEE found exactly the guardians and BC buddy he needed to help him gain confidence and trust that life is great. They love the breed and his new friend, Sofi, loves the ball so she'll show him the ropes on how much fun being a ball nut can be! And, he'll learn all about love as the non-stop companion to his new FurMom who really wanted to help a dog with the healing process. They both knew that this boy was the one for them. He'll get plenty of walks on the beach nearby their home and lots of time to enjoy exploring his great yard.

RYLEE: A 9 month old Border Collie, Rylee is a gentle guy who is a bit cautious to say hello but oh so wants to be your friend. He is very, very sweet and will blossom beautifully in the right situation. He does love attention and wants to trust that people are great which he's learning step by step. So, Rylee will need an adult home with lots of patience to help with his confidence building. He tends to want to avoid 'being in trouble' even when he is clearly not in trouble.  He is a good natured boy and absolutely comes to life with other BC's, playing and making up all kinds of chase games. We will place him with a BC buddy who is more confident already.  Rylee is about 40 pounds and good with cats.

ELLIE found her forever home quickly with GHF adopters who were patiently waiting for just the right friend for alum, Monty, adopted a few years ago. Soon as Ellie came in, it was obvious she was an ideal match in every way. And, Ellie will now have a life she'll love - a BC friend who likes to play like she does as well as new guardians who will be with her all the time. She'll have a great country property with lots of land for hikes but most importantly, be cherished forever. She now lives in Maine.

ELLIE: A 9 month old Border Collie, Ellie is a love-bug, sweet as can be and very good natured. She is easy going and active but not overly intense.  Ellie is happiest with her person around all the time as well as a BC buddy so she's having a blast at the Farm, engaging with the dogs. She is smart and focused, eager to please.  A good tennis ball game is her favorite but any toys interest her!  This happy girl is confident and at ease in new situations though will bark a bit at first and is a bit worried about some men but she will let it go, with direction.  Ellie is about 45 pounds and not yet tested on cats. She was relinquished to the Farm from NY guardians who had another mature BC who had health challenges that prevented the two dogs from being good companions so they felt it best for Ellie to have a different life.

Little HANA will have a grand life, enjoying trails in the great outdoors of Vermont and hanging with GHF alums who live nearby! SO, she's got the best of everything - lots of BC buddies and all the attention just for her, living with her new FurMom who is totally smitten with this darling girl. She'll be her non-stop snuggler who likes to chill inside and then an athlete outside- exactly what Hana is all about! We're thrilled for this girl to have a loving forever home.

HANA: A petite 1 year old Border Collie, Hana is a sweet, gentle, loving girl who longs to be in your lap, cuddling non-stop. She is really adorable. When she meets other dogs, she's instantly social and eager to play, zipping around, very excited. Little Hana is a charmer though a bit shy at first, careful to say hello to people with some worries that maybe she's done something wrong. So, she'll need a patient person and a confident canine friend to make her feel at ease.  Hana is not high energy and would be a good companion, following wherever her person goes. With time and reassurance, she's going to blossom beautifully. Hana is 30 pounds and not yet tested with cats. She came to us thanks to the help of a BC lover who stepped in, preventing her from being dumped in a Walmart parking lot cause the person no longer wanted her - yes, it's true.

Sometimes a dog and a person come together in the same spot and boom - it's meant to be! Well, ROMEE or Romeo has he's actually been called, found his new guardian right here waiting for him when he arrived. One of our volunteers, a former GHF adopter, was thinking about adding another young BC and noticed this smart, interesting character as he arrived. Well, in a few short days, turns out he couldn't quite get this boy Romee out of his mind so in a twist of fate that happens all the time at the Farm, Romee has a new life! He is heading out to join his new canine family and be challenged by all the wonderful dog training and shaping his new FurDad loves to do cause he's in the dog business! We'll soon see Romee on his site, sharing all the great things that dogs can learn- http://cameroncanine.com. He now lives in Massachusetts with PLENTY to do!

ROMEE: A 1 year old Border Collie, Romee is not only gorgeous, he is smart and looking for something to do! He is a fast BC, quite agile racing around full speed with the other dogs.  He is very very friendly with everyone and curious about everything. A very good natured boy, he joins in the action of herding games or settles nicely with a person who connects to him.  He is good with dog savvy cats and about 35 pounds, more petite than his pictures make him appear.  He was relinquished to the Farm from NY guardians who knew leaving him home 12 hours a day was not ideal.

SYD landed in an ideal spot for him - with guardians who love Border Collies and a home where there are sheep that need to be moved from field to field - which he will love! He'll not only have a job to do, he'll be the constant companion to his new guardians, even going along with his new FurDad to sheep shearing demonstrations, of course being the best diplomat for the breed. Syd has 23 acres to call his own and home where he is adored! He now lives in New Hampshire.

SYD: A 3 1/2 year old Border Collie, Syd is a character, quite a charmer and surely the friendliest guy around. He is eager to say hello to everyone! Syd feels good about life and it shows, adapting to changes well and handling anything coming his way, right in stride. He's had a pretty good life on 350 acres, helping informally move cows and goats at his farm so he's been able to apply his mind, body and heart to a job but he is ready for the chance to be someone's friend, a real companion, not just hanging at a Farm. He loves to cuddle, sitting quietly by your side and comes instantly to go wherever you want to go. He's really a wonderful boy. Syd chases chickens but only herds sheep, goats and donkeys. He's good with barn cats and will be tested with house cats soon. We only want to place Syd in a rural setting where he can enjoy the same freedom to race around like the wind, accompanying his person wherever they need him. He was relinquished to rescue from his PA guardian who an elderly PA guardian who could not care for him any longer.  Syd is approx 45 lbs.

Sweet DERBY found guardians who were looking for a special little girl to add to their lives and soon as they saw her on our site, wanted to come meet her. She'll be the constant companion to her new FurMom and have a great little canine buddy whose used to BC race and chase games. These two along great! And they loved her so much, they knew she had to go home with them! Derby now lives in NY and will be cherished forever.

DERBY: A petite 1 year old Border Collie, Derby is a gentle, sweet girl who is good natured and quite happy. She's just arrived at the Farm so we'll add to her bio shortly but for now, what we are seeing is a delightful little girl, only 30 pounds, who likes dogs and wants to explore, curious about everything. We don't yet know about her herding instinct. She is good with cats. She was a stray in Massachusetts and in a shelter that works with GHF.

The brilliant and talented SHANE found exactly the guardians who would understand him and devote their full attention to his needs. They love that 'crazy' intensity of a young BC and were thrilled to meet this wonderful boy. Of course, they chuckled at his antics with the ball and his need to go, go, go, truly what they were looking for! He'll get to race, explore, play ball, hike and even go to work with his FurDad, all of which Shane will love. He is now in good hands, forever and lives in Ct. We are so happy for this match…people with intensity, with a BC with intensity!

SHANE: A 1 1/2 year old Border Collie, Shane is a brilliant boy, sweet as can be and loves to be involved with someone who understands his BC nature. A very observant boy, he likes challenges and even enjoys making up his own game of what we call 'two ball', entertaining himself as well as waiting for something exciting to happen with the roll of the ball from his person. He's a funny, great BC with a marvelous temperament. Shane is very confident and curious and will need someone who wants to stimulate his mind, otherwise he will find things to do on his own!  He clearly looks to a person to be his friend and would thrive as a solo dog since people are most important to him.  He is such a great toy dog and wonderful athlete, he could also compete in sports. He is about 40 pounds and not good with cats. He was a stray in NY in a shelter that fortunately works with rescue

JEETER found the life he will love and so deserves - the constant companion to his new FurMom and 10 acres for lots of play and exploration. He joins GHF alum, Coco and her FurMom, who came not long ago to adopt her, so Jeeter gets a new buddy as well as guardians who love the breed! We're thrilled for this sweet boy who has a great home in honor of GHF alum, Finn, who recently passed. Jeeter now lives in NY.

JEETER: A 7 year old Border Collie, Jeeter is a love. He is so happy to be with his person and shadows you wherever you go, content to be by your side. He is fine with other dogs and could have a canine buddy.  He is really enjoying all the dogs he meets and blossoming into a real player, racing and chasing and herding the other BC's! Jeeter is smart and easy going, really a great companion and completely focused on his person, even with other dogs around.  Quite the friendly boy giving lots of affection, he is a super sweet BC. Jeeter has lived in one home since a pup and was clearly adored though his elderly NJ guardian could no longer care for him properly so Jeeter was relinquished to the Farm.  Jeeter is good with cats and about 40 pounds once he knocks off the extra weight from his previously inactive life.
