BRIDGET found a life that suits her perfectly...a canine buddy who befriends but let's her lead the way...guardians who love to toss the ball and play frisbee a lot... off-leash hikes with lots of exploration... and most importantly, people who love her. AND, they really understand her need to think through everything that goes on and feel secure that her person is on her team, helping her  feel comfortable! She's brilliant and her guardians love herding dogs with minds that demand real relationship - that IS Bridget! She happily hopped into the car to head out to her new life in Massachusetts.

BRIDGET: A 5 year old Border Collie, Bridget is a very smart, observant girl. She watches everything around her, thinking things through and then decides what to do. She is sensitive and shy with new people in new situations since she's had a lot of freedom to be outside 'working' on her own. She'll do best with a very BC savvy person who understands just how intelligent she is and can give her new challenges and build a close relationship. She loves her ball and frisbee and will blossom with a one-on-one companion oriented guardian. Bridget is about 55 pounds and good with cats. Bridget will only be placed in an adult home. She lived in NY and was relinquished to the Farm to find a more appropriate life for her. Bridget is good with other dogs and enjoys their company, especially easy going male BC's but could also be happy as a solo dog. Bridget loves hiking on the GHF trails and is a water girl for sure!

Little LAYLA must have been on a mission to find just the right home cause she sure did it quickly! We have to laugh sometimes at certain BC's who seem to be on the fast track...her previous guardians called at 4pm and by 9pm that same day, she was in rescue....her pictures were posted and within hours, a former adopter wrote about her so off she's going to live in PA on 170 acres with GHF alum, Kooper, another young BC who loves having friends for lots of play. Miss Layla is high energy, busy and eager to play, play, play, a real live-wire for sure. So, we're thrilled she'll have plenty to do in her new life.

LAYLA: A 9 week old Border Collie, little Layla is enjoying life meeting other Border Collies and discovering she can play! She loves toys and is an active girl, like any young BC. She'll only go to a BC savvy home since Layla is going to be an energetic girl who needs mental, physical and emotional stimulation. She is, of course, sweet as can be. She is in temporary foster care in PA. She came from a family who felt, while they loved her, she was too much energy for their situation.

Special thanks to Marybeth Powers, Debbi & Tony Grassi, Ann Kleinschmidt & Lee Coates and Amy Galford for helping transport Layla.

JET found two guardians who really understand the breed since they grew up in England and have only had Border Collies! Soon as they met him, they were sure he was a perfect fit for them - smart, responsive, quirky and fun - exactly what they are used to. Jet joins their 16 year old Ellie who's getting along just great and used to having a BC buddy. So, off he went to enjoy lots of hiking in a nearby 500 acres and plenty of love in their home in New Hampshire.

JET: A 1 1/2 year old Border Collie, Jet is a sweet guy, so happy to be with a person who wants to be with him! He's a gentle guy with lots of energy looking for someone who can show him the direction for all his intelligence. Jet is smart and affectionate and will need someone to stimulate him to use his mind since he's so looking for an outlet that combines mind, body and emotion. He has just arrived at GHF so we'll update his bio as he unfolds. He's got a loving personality and such a nice energy, so curious and happy. He is about 30 pounds and is good with cats. He and Skip, were found as strays by a PA dog lover who had hoped to find the owners but had no luck and then passed them to GHF

BRADY found a wonderful family who love this breed and felt instantly connected to him and he, to them. His loving nature won their hearts! Brady will have two canine buddies as pals, get to try agility and obedience as well as enjoy almost 4 acres of his own with a pond. While not yet a swimmer, hope is he'll go for it! Brady happily hopped into their car heading out to his new life in NY.

BRADY: A 2 year old Border Collie, Brady is a gorgeous guy who loves toys and LOVES to run. He is having a blast enjoying his freedom at the Farm. Brady is a soft BC, very gentle and good natured. He does best with easy going BC's who don't overpower him and he would love a friend. He also loves toys, very eager to connect and play.  Brady has not had a lot of exposure to normal life situations so will need a patient person to guide him through new things since he gets stressed easily. We are starting training with him now. He is going to blossom here quickly as he realizes a person will help him. His pictures make him look large but he is not, only 40 pounds and he is best with dog savvy cats since he sometimes herds them. Brady came to GHF with Spirit, both chained outside. Their NY guardian felt it was not a good life for them so gave them to the Farm.  Brady has worries around strangers and can be very sound sensitive so needs a patient guardian and a confident dog to lead the way.

COCO luckily landed at GHF just when her new guardians had contacted us in search of a small BC mix. Soon as they saw her pictures and story, they hopped in the car to come meet her and off she went. This sweet girl happily headed out to a new life in NY where she'll be their constant companions and have 10 acres to call her own, for plenty of exploring. Coco had lived in one home all her life so was a bit confused by all these changes but now, won't have that worry anymore. She joins GHF alum, Finn, to be her canine buddy showing her around her great new life!

COCO: A petite 3 year old Border Collie mix, Coco is a character! She's full of spunk, sweet as can be and while playful, not over the top with intensity. She's a wonderful BC mix with lots of personality who loves everyone. She is also good with other dogs and could easily have a canine buddy though also could be happy with someone around a lot, as their companion. She's not too into toys but loves to be by your side, a real cuddler. Coco is very smart, focused and really pays attention to everything around her, curious about it all. She is good off leash and loves to swim. Coco was abandoned at a NY shelter due to issues with younger children that made her uncomfortable so she will only be placed in an adult home. She is good with cats and weighs about 30 pounds.

NORM found his way to the Farm and into the home of our new caretaker and something, call it a hunch, seemed to fit for Norm to be here for the rest of his life and of course, that is what happened. Norm came to GHF and his new life began with our new caretaker and well, as they say, the rest is history. Norm is staying at GHF, a happy addition, joining Jane, a GHF alum from Texas so now he'll be the official greeter to all new rescues who come to GHF and land here, looking for save haven. Our new caretaker will handle all the seniors who are displaced and Norm, just set the standard for what's ahead - lots of love, plenty of time and a great sofa to call their own! Norm will be the welcoming dog to all those who need to know that life is GOOD, no matter the changes that make it seem so scary.

NORM: A petite 11 year old Border Collie mix, Norm is the 'perfect dog', ready to be by your side, eager to join in any activity you want to do and very loving. He's relaxed about hanging out or bounces around happily for a run. Norm loves other dogs and could easily live with them or could settle beautifully as the only dog as long as his person was nearby. Norm is eager to please and so wants to be connected to people, a really lovely personality and the sweetest guy. He has lived in one home since a pup and found himself abandoned due to a divorce. A family member stepped in to make sure Norm found safe haven at GHF. He's just the sweetest guy and clearly loves life. He came to the Farm from PA. He is absolutely fine with cats.

TREET found a family that understands Border Collies and loves their high energy nature so Treet landed in a life that is just perfect! Lots of love, lots to do and even living on a lake where he can enjoy swimming. Plus his new guardian's home backs up to an 800 acre preserve so hiking will certainly be in his future, too! Treet will be returning to GHF to find a 2nd BC for the family since they always have two! So, we're on the look-out for a fun female to join him! He now lives in NY.

TREET: A 3 month old Border Collie, Treet is a marvelous, friendly, confident boy who loves people. He is very well socialized and says hello to anyone and everyone, happy to be in your lap. He is also VERY smart, VERY focused and has a strong herding instinct, so will placed in a home that understands the breed and offers an outlet like sports or an active hiking home. While he's a fabulous little guy, he will want to control whatever moves so needs a place to focus that energy. He loves toys and is eager to learn anything. Treet is about 10 pounds. He was relinquished due to the Farm from NY guardians who could not meet his needs. Treet loves hiking on the trails and discovered he learned to swim and enjoy the water!

Sweet KAMI found wonderful guardians who are thrilled to have such a cuddler and happy to enjoy the day with her, in all the years ahead. She'll go everywhere with them and also enjoy great hikes all around their property with her very own pond as well as hikes in the nearby woods for lots of racing and chasing. Kami loved having all the attention and showed that loving nature that is so natural to her. She'll get to share that with others since her new guardians want to give her a try at therapy work, with children and in nursing homes. We know Kami will be a natural at this job and change the hearts she touches! She now lives in Vermont.

KAMI is a wonderful 4  1/2 yr old, loving sweet girl who enjoys cuddling and being right next to you. She is great with other BC's though as a heavy herder, would do best with another more similar BC who likes to race and chase rather than a big toy dog.  Kami is by far, a people dog!  She has the energy for an off leash hike but settles beautifully at home, calmly content. She is about 40 pounds. Kami is good with cats.

DANNY met his new guardians at the Canine Country Getaway and had a chance to enjoy luxury camping with them and his two new canine buddies, Nichol and Molly (napping in her bed). He quickly settled in like it was home and was happily enjoying all the attention and the idea that he would have his people with him all the time. Danny hit the GHF trails too for some fun times and then headed out to New Hampshire where he'll be a cherished family member forever. He'll have a great yard to call his own and join them everywhere they go, including a 300 acre park near where he now lives! We might even see him this fall, back at camp, too!!

DANNY: A 5 year old Border Collie, Danny is a sweet guy and loves to say hello to everyone. He is really good natured and agreeable to anything, especially if he can be with his person. He bonds quickly and would be thrilled to be a companion, going wherever you go. Danny is fine with other dogs but does seem to prefer the females . Danny is carrying some extra weight which will come off with exercise. Danny lived with one guardian since a puppy but due to a move, was relinquished to GHF. He is good with cats. He is about 50 pounds now.

TRAVIS found a wonderful life with Border Collies who understand his need to herd them and don't mind those little nips on the back legs (for the most part!). So, at almost 13, this guy is happy as a clam, enjoying his days of herding the other dogs at our former caretaker's home with her pack of six BC's. Once she met this sweet, good natured love-bug and saw his strong eye for herding, she felt strongly that he needed to stay right there, enjoying life til the end. GHF will handle his vet needs thanks to his angel donors and let this remarkably wonderful boy never have to move again. He's been in plenty of homes til this moment and clearly deserves exactly what he's found. We're just thrilled for Travis who is a very very special Border Collie and we feel honored to have met him and offer him a special place to live. He is staying in New Hampshire in his "foster home" forever!

TRAVIS: A 12 1/2 year old border collie with ABCA papers, Travis is a sweet guy that will follow you around everywhere and will lay right by your feet.  He has lived with dogs and likes to cuddle up to them when he sleeps too.   He's very quiet in the house but once the action starts outside, Travis is ready to go.  He's chasing and herding all the dogs in his foster home.  He also loves to play with toys too and does like to toss them to his person.  He loves squeaky toys, soccer balls, and frisbees.  He'll catch and toss anything.  And if you won't play, he'll toss them to himself!  He lived in his last home in Maine for 5 years and was given up because of a move.

Travis now has had bloodwork, thyroid and urine checked and is in good health.

FINN found a wonderful home where he'll get to try agility and competitive obedience which will stimulate his mind and, he have a buddy who he already knows - Guster! Guster has visited Finn a few times and they have a great play style to mix it up for fun, fun, fun. Finn's new guardian just felt drawn to this sweet boy and knew he would suit their lifestyle well! Finn now lives in PA.

FINN: A 6 month old Border Collie, Finn is loving life with the gang at the Farm, racing and chasing and playing non-stop. He has lots of energy and is happy having canine friends to make up games. Finn loves to play ball and is curious about everything. He is a sweet boy who loves his person and will happily ask for cuddling and attention. He is not overly intense but will need an active home, like all young Border Collies. He is about 35 pounds and best with dog savvy cats since he can play roughly with them. He came to the Farm from PA guardians who felt they could not meet his needs. He was a beloved family member but they felt he deserved a more active life.

BLAKE found a canine friend he absolutely adored, instantly! It was hilarious to watch these two race, chase and wrestle as if they were long lost kindred spirits - really wonderful to watch! Blake's new guardians felt he was exactly what they were looking for since they had a bc mix previously and always had two dogs together - they understood this incredibly active play style! They were smiling as they watched their girl give a paws up to Blake and the two of them headed out to a new life in NY, not far from the Farm. This match was a joy to watch unfold!

BLAKE: An 11 month old Border Collie mix, Blake is a character, quite the charmer and a real toy nut! He is like any young dog, full of spunk and curiosity, happy to grab any toy and make up any game. He's a sweet, friendly guy when he's feeling comfortable though new situations throw him a bit so he'll bark at first til he feels secure. He is good natured and fairly easy going without the intensity of a purebred. Blake has just come to GHF so we'll update his bio shortly. He is about 40 pounds and is good with cats. He came from a PA shelter where he was abandoned by an elderly woman who got him as a pup but felt he was too much for her.  Blake is trained on the invisible fence.

SKIP, now Jasper, is on his way to Canada with two guardians who came looking for a cuddle bug who while young, was fairly calm which fit Skip's nature perfectly! He hung next to them all afternoon, like their shadow and then hopped right into the bed of the Adoption RV, casting his vote as he got the chance to overnight. This sweet little guy charmed them both so now has a wonderful new life with his FurMom as his constant companion and lots to do with them both. His puppy- like innocence, curious and timid about everything, made them chuckle!

SKIP: A petite 1 1/2 year old Border Collie, Skip is a sweet guy, curious about everything and loves to explore. He is a character, collecting all the toys in one big pile and then entertaining himself with them all. He is good natured and friendly, a more gentle BC however he does get nervous meeting new people. He so wants to trust people are safe but tends to be very worried going up to anyone new. Once he knows you, he's happy as a clam so Skip will need a very patient guardian to help build his trust. Skip is over excited with other dogs so we think he'll do better as a solo dog. He and another BC, were found as strays in PA and the dog lover who found them contacted us after trying to find their guardians, with no luck. He is about 30 pounds and is good with cats.

EMIE joined GHF alum, Domino for a new life together racing, chasing and exploring! Her new guardians came to the Canine Getaway Camp and saw how much Domino loved hanging with other BC's so decided to come back to find a friend. Emie fit with him beautifully, clearly a great match on hikes and when they overnighted at the Farm, these two formed a quick relationship that worked really well for them both. Plus, Emie is now her new FurDad's 'girl' while Domino is his FurMom's special 'boy' so it works out perfectly for everyone! Emie now lives in PA and we'll see her this fall at Camp!

EMIE: A petite 2 year old Border Collie, Emie is a smart girl who likes to observe everything around her before she jumps into action.  She's eager to say hello to people but needs a little time to feel secure.  Quite affectionate and loving, she warms up quickly once she knows all is well. Emie enjoys other dogs but can get overwhelmed by stronger dogs so does best with a more submissive buddy who likes to rough house and chase and make up herding games. She could enjoy a dog friend but might also do well in the right home as the solo dog.  Emie is about 35 pounds and is good with cats. Emie loves to go on the trails at GHF, racing and playing with the other dogs.

ROSS found two people who love the brilliance of a Border Collie and toy games they love to play but also love a cuddly, friendly guy like Ross. His good nature won them over cause he had the best of both worlds - a toy boy and a big time people boy - exactly what they were hoping for. Ross gets to summer on the St Lawrence River at their camp, a real paradise for any dog and then enjoys their non-stop companionship once home in NY.

ROSS: A 4 year old Border Collie, Ross is a toy fiend - he loves playing ball or playing with squeaky toys or anything thrown his way - he just loves it! He is a sweet guy who also loves people, eager to be with a person who is someone to call his own. Ross prefers being the only dog though can get along ok with dogs around him but tends to be a bit bossy about his toys and food so we're placing him as a solo dog. He has wonderful recall and is so responsive to whatever is asked of him but we do want a fenced yard situation since he was a stray. He came from a PA shelter and has done beautifully in his temporary foster home and is now at the Farm. He is not yet tested on cats. Ross is about 45 pounds.

Sweet BREE happened to land at GHF just when we had been hoping to find a female friend for recently adopted, pup Treet so as soon as we met her and realized what a doll she was, the adopters were contacted! This great family came quickly and agreed, she was the perfect addition to make the great pair they were hoping for! Treet and Bree raced and chased and enjoyed a new friendship and will clearly be a dynamic duo! Bree now lives in NY.

BREE: A petite 1 year old Border Collie, Bree is a curious girl who likes to check everything out but can also be a little timid sorting out new environments. She is blossoming at the Farm, meeting the dogs, new people and learning to use her mind and body and sharing her sweet nature. She's quite a charmer and alive with herding energy of course but for now, Bree is enjoying dog play with the young BC's and will be happiest with a friend. She is about 30 pounds and not yet tested on cats. She came to GHF from a NY guardian who had too many dogs and could not meet their needs. Bree is having a blast on the trails at GHF and is quite the swimmer.

Miss MEEKO found a loving pair of guardians who understand the sensitivities of Border Collies and love the combination of brilliance and energy - they quickly felt that Meeko was the right addition to their family! Meeko's new BC buddy, Maverick thought so too, with both of them clearly connecting as friends, interested in each other, mentally, physically and emotionally - they are a great pair! Meeko now lives in PA where she'll be adored for the rest of her life and never be stuck in a place where she's not understood, again. We're happy for this match which worked perfectly for everyone involved!

MEEKO: A petite 1 1/2 year old Border Collie, Meeko is a very, very sweet girl who loves attention, nestling up on her back for belly rubs and curling in your lap. She is a real love bug and seeks out attention with someone she knows. Meeko has a great personality with people. She is also all about the action of other dogs, racing, herding and wrestling, quite the player. She is fast and does well with other young BC's who need stimulation, too. She will only be placed with another young BC since Meeko can be shy with new people and does better having a confident canine friend. She is not overly intense like many young BC's but she does need a focus for her mind and body, together so will do best with someone who understands the breed. Meeko lived with five kids, in a very chaotic household and did well but will flourish with more appropriate attention and time for her. She was tied up outside since there was no fence. She is fine with dog savvy cats. She was relinquished to the Farm from a NY guardian.  Meeko loves her trails walks with the other BC's and is quite the athlete racing, chasing and swimming!

FOSTER had been waiting quite awhile for just the right family to understand his needs and quirks and love him all the same! So, today's adopters returned to GHF after loosing their beloved Bella and decided that Foster would be the right guy to add to their life and give their sweet BC, Tess, a friend again. Foster will surely blossom in their care since they understand the rescue experience for certain dogs who've had it tough before landing at GHF. Foster felt safe with them and loved herding Tess and enjoyed all the attention on him so he could play some ball, himself! He now lives in New Jersey.

FOSTER: A 4 year old Border Collie, Foster is now one happy guy, trusting that life is meant to be about racing, chasing and herding, the greatest BC activities in the world!  He is happy and loves to race with other BC's as well as get cuddling attention from his person.  Foster is adorable, a sensitive, sweet, smart boy who has a great nature. His first reaction to being touched is to give all his love back, a gentle soul.  He came from a rough situation where he was abused and treated poorly but now, that's all behind him and he's ready for an action packed life full of love.  He'll be placed with another BC so he can continue to blossom.  Foster can still be nervous meeting new men so needs a guardian who understands BC's well and gives him the confidence to know he's safe. He is about 40 pounds and good with dog savvy cats. Foster was part of a confiscation of farm animals as well as the two dogs on the PA property. Special thanks to fosterer Susan Myers who helped him really begin a great healing process.

Miss MADDIE won the hearts of her new adopters instantly, with her sweet nature, her eagerness to play ball and her attentiveness to them! Within minutes, they were ready to head home with her! Maddie now lives in Canada where she'll have a great property to explore and be their constant companion. Her new guardians are BC lovers and were thrilled to have Maddie in their lives, happy to open their hearts to another great dog. We're really happy for this sweet girl to land so quickly and with loving guardians who will be with her all the time, which she really deserves.

MADDIE: A petite 7 year old Border Collie, Maddie is the sweetest girl, just a joy to be around. She is gentle and loving and friendly, happy to say hello to anyone new. She loves toys, especially balls and frisbee games. A very smart girl, she aims to please and would love being the constant companion to someone who adores this breed. Maddie is good with cats and good with other dogs but gets overwhelmed so we want to find a solo dog home for her. She was previously living in a PA home left outside 10 -12 hours during the day, alone, and had difficulty feeling safe with thunderstorms and began scratching at the door to get inside, hurting herself. The guardians felt she would be happier in a different home and we agree. Maddie is a sweetheart and will  blossom with someone involved with her. She is approx 40 lbs.

KINLEY went to her new home where she'll be the center of attention with a chance to do agility and have a blast learning anything and everything to stimulate her mind. In the end, if agility is not her favorite thing, then she'll be a beloved family member of her new FurMom and FurDad who are dog lovers and love seeing their dogs happy and loved. She joins another BC buddy and a lab friend who she instantly adored so she now lives in NY.

KINLEY: A 5 week old BC pup, Kinley is a cute, TINY, little girl weighing only 4 pounds at this point. She may stay small since we've just taken her mother, too and she is also very petite. No matter her size, Kinley is about to get a good dose of superb care, fine food, and tons of loving which she so richly deserves. She is a little spit- fire, racing around as she play bows to the adult dogs and loving life where she's the center of attention. We are happy to help this wee one find safe haven and excited to see which guardians share the journey of life with her. Kinley came to GHF with her mother, Spryte and possibly sister, Bree, all relinquished by pressure of the animal control officer in the NY area where they lived. Kind BC lovers helped to make this all possible and we hope to help more of the dogs still in the situation.

MAGGIE: A 2 year old Border Collie, Maggie is a sweetheart, absolutely loves everyone and wants to be in your lap instantly. She is super friendly and has lots of energy for play. She'll retrieve the ball endlessly and happily. Maggie also loves the water and is great off leash for hikes. She came to GHF from another rescuer who stepped in to be sure she landed properly.
DYLAN & MAGGIE met at the Farm and were a great pair, happy to chase the ball together, racing around exploring and then hanging together inside so they found a new life together, forever! Their new guardian works from home in a great country setting that will give them plenty of space, lots to do as well as being her constant companion. They'll also get a chance to head to the beach for walks and swimming, too, going everywhere she goes! She was eager to add a wonderful pair to her life after loosing her beloved BC and absolutely fell in love with these two! They now live in PA.

DYLAN: A 5 year old Border Collie, Dylan is a great guy, absolutely friendly with everyone and eager to be your friend. He's smart, easy going and loves attention but he also loves his ball big-time! Dylan will retrieve for as long as you'll throw and is quite the athlete, enjoying frisbee as well. He's a fast learner and very eager to please so could learn all kinds of challenging activities. This happy boy is a classic BC with a balanced nature looking for something to do with someone who loves him. He is about 45 pound and not yet tested on cats. Dylan was adopted in February but returned due to his guardian's financial conditions. He said "he is the best BC he's ever had" and felt terrible giving him up.

BAILIE found guardians who understand he needs some time to feel safe and knew that their BCmix, Juneau, was the perfect mentor to help him blossom easily. Within a short time, Bailie loved them and was eager to gain their attention so we know he'll do just great as he gets to know his new life and gains confidence in a new situation. He and Juneau played non-stop, clearly a great pair. He now lives in Massachusetts where he'll be adored and enjoy a loving, active life.

BAILIE: A 5 month old Border Collie, Bailie is a classic BC, curious about all the action around him, thinking about what to join in and do and whether to hold back and decide what's exciting or not. He is a thinker, very sweet and observant. He has jumped into BC play with a few of the young dogs and clearly would benefit from a BC buddy. Bailie is a gentle pup but he has energy needs like any young BC so will only be placed in a BC savvy home. He is smart and focused and loves to play with squeaky toys as well as destroy them! Bailie came to GHF from a NY guardian who felt she could not meet his needs due to a move. Bailie has joined in the fun of swimming, racing and playing on the GHF trails and loves it!

BRYSEN found guardians who really understand the breed since they've had six that they adored, all very different. When they met Brysen, they instantly felt he was a special boy with a great heart, so clearly wanting a connection. Very quickly, he just loved being with them, whether cuddling inside or ball play outside - he voted loud and clear and they agreed completely. He headed home to Maine where he'll have a beautiful property to call his own, enjoy lots of trail walks and even camp, enjoying swimming in Key West in the summer! Brysen now lives in Maine.

BRYSEN: A 2 year old Border Collie, Brysen is an affectionate guy who wants to be by your side, cuddling or playing with the ball...he's got the focus for both! He is very very smart though not overly intense, more companion oriented, really seeking a person to call his own. He is good with other BC's so could have a canine friend or be alone as a solo dog with someone active. Brysen is fairly easy going though will only be placed in an adult home where someone can focus on his needs since he hasn't the proper attention he deserves. Brysen gets spooked by new people he doesn't know and will need a patient person to help him, step by step, trust he's safe with people. Once he connects to 'his person', he's incredibly bonded, sweet and attentive.  Brysen is about 45 pounds and good with cats.

Sweet little ECHO landed with someone who understands her worries and needs and feels just fine letting her evolve at her own speed, exactly what she needs! Echo will also have her two canine buddies to show the way and lots and lots of love from her FurMom, as she continues on the path of trusting that a good life is hers to have! They all met at the Farm when her FurMom came to vacation at the Canine Country Getaway and knew she wanted to add a third dog to her life while here. We're thrilled for Echo who was part of 167 BC's confiscated last year from Texas and now has a loving home in PA.

ECHO: A petite 3 yr old Border Collie, Echo is learning that life is an adventure - of trying new things and being rewarded with great food for being so brave! So, this little girl is doing well, day by day and now happily barks and wags to say hello whenever her Fosterers come home. She follows them around the house, curious to see what's next in her day of new things. Sometimes, she still needs to retreat to her safe space in her open crate, when things scare her, but with some guidance, she'll bravely come back out again. Echo is pretty easy to live with, happy to entertain herself with toys or just hang with her person. She loves to get into her toy box, digging for the things in the bottom and then tossing them into the air for play. Her Foster Mom says she does the 'Echo Bounce' bounding out of the house in the morning, leaping with joy, then running happy laps around the yard with her 'giant happy face' and all body parts wiggling in all directions. She clearly has found life to be very very fun.  Echo still has many fears and will need a patient calm guardian to keep building her trust so she can experience more of life. However, she's happiest with the routine of her home, her yard and won't need a big life going lots of places with lots of people.  Echo was part of a large confiscation of 167 BC's from a Texas 'breeder'.  She is about 30 pounds and not good with cats. With her timidity, she'll do best with one other canine friend to help show her the way.

ZAN found a new life with another GHF alum, Kade, who was living not far from Zan's foster Mom. Several times when Zan and Kade visited together, it was clear they really loved playing and were so comfortable together, that it just clicked to make this a forever pairing! They both have their shy moments but this duo is braver together than apart, a great team of courage! We're thrilled for both these sweet BC's who came from really rough situations and now, never have to face anything but love. Zan & Kade live in Vermont.

ZAN: A 3 year old Border Collie, Zan is a petite little girl who really wants to trust that life has good things to offer her. She's been getting braver each day in her foster home and her tail is now wagging with delight seeing people!  Zan has also started to get a bone and bring it in the room where everyone is, enjoying being with people rather than hiding. She also likes to herd the other BC's in the house so would be happy with another BC friend for sure which helps her be more relaxed.  Zan has no interest in toys yet but sure loves to look out the window to see what's going on, a very observant little girl.  Zan is one of the 167 dogs confiscated from a Texas 'breeder' so she needs a supportive guardian that can help her build greater trust. She is about 35 pounds and is fascinated with cats but won't hurt them - she loves watching them.

NOAH: A petite 9 year old Border Collie mix, Noah is a delight. He has a remarkable personality, happy to be in the middle of people and activities, curious about everything. Noah takes everything in stride. This sweet, affectionate boy is smart as a whip and eager to please but mostly, he just wants to be by your side wherever you go. A favorite with everyone he meets, he's truly well balanced and one happy fellow. Noah is 28 pounds and good with cats. He lived in his previous home for many years but a new baby left little time for him so he was abandoned at a PA shelter.
SHELBY & NOAH found a wonderful life together where they'll have plenty of land for lots of play and plenty of walks for lots of stimulation, the perfect combination. They met here at the Farm and got along beautifully so will enjoy a great life they can share forever, both wonderful, loving Border Collies. Shelby and Noah now live in NJ with one of our dearest Friends of the Farm, so we'll see them frequently.

SHELBY: A petite 6 year old Border Collie, Shelby is very very sweet. She's a classic focused BC who loves toys and will happily retrieve or entertain herself. She is super friendly with everyone and loves people even more than dogs though she's handling her new foster friends just great. She is not high energy but would rather be by your side. Shelby is so well mannered and eager to please, she's a joy to be around and befriends everyone easily. She is fine with dogs but enjoys people more so can easily be a solo dog. Shelby is fine with cats and is 32 pounds. Shelby has a gorgeous coat normally but her previous guardians did not have the means to handle her care appropriately so with proper nutrition, her flea allergy is resolving and she'll have a long coat soon. She was relinquished to the Farm and is being fostered in Pittsburgh PA.

SCOTTY is sitting in the lap of his new FurMom who came just to see him and had a strong feeling he was just the one she wanted to pair with her Border Collie, Rudy. Rudy and Scotty agreed as they raced and chased and ran the field like crazy, non-stop! And, of course Scotty knew that hanging in her lap was just the spot for him so off he went to live in PA where he'll have a great yard to call his own and nearby trails for lots of hiking.

SCOTTY: A 4 month old BC/Aussie, Scotty is a sweet guy, curious about life and very happy to join in the action with dogs and people. It takes him a little bit to be fully confident in a new situation but once he is, he's ready to go. He loves to make up chase games with other dogs at the Farm and would be happiest with a friend. Scotty lived with kids and loved them, too. He is about 25 pounds and fine with cats. He was relinquished to the Farm due to a move, from a NY guardian.

DYSON now has a person to call his very own, devoted to all the things that will make him happy and challenge his brilliant mind. His new FurDad came to volunteer awhile back to get to know the breed and be sure he was the right person for a BC. We agreed that he most certainly was and were happy when he returned for his first Border Collie. He'd read up on all the cool things needed to keep a young BC happy and with an overnight at the Farm, the two of them paired up beautifully. Dyson headed off to Canada where he'll even get a chance to try search and rescue work.

DYSON: A 1 year old Border Collie, Dyson is a sweetheart. He loves to say hello to new people and is a soft, gentle guy, happy to be with anyone he meets. When the toys come out, he loves to play - ball or squeaky toys - his classic BC focus comes through clear and he's ready to go. He loves to race, chase and wrestle and having a young BC friend really helps with his energy needs. He does best with soft, submissive dogs.  He is very smart, and very responsive to whatever is asked of him, even by strangers. This sweet, smart boy is very adaptable and wants to be right, eager to understand whatever you want. Dyson is about 30 pounds, good with cats and given up due to too many dogs in the home. He came from a NY guardian who wanted GHF to help out.

Little Miss ROXIE found a great home where her brains and body will finally be focused on an activity we are sure she'll love - agility! Roxie flies around like a missile and is clearly looking for something that uses that brilliant mind so when our Canine Country Campers said they were looking to add a sport dog, she was the one that came to mind! She instantly jumped up for big hellos, lots of kisses and then raced around like the young BC she is...leaving them chuckling since that is exactly what they were hoping to find...a fast, fun-loving girl. She quickly fit with her new canine buddies and headed off to Maryland for her new, very active life!

ROXIE: A 1 1/2 year old Border Collie, Roxie is a doll, super friendly and full of energy! She loves to run, chase, jump and make up herding games. She is a classic busy BC who will need an outlet for her mind, body and emotions. She's eager to connect to a person and learns quickly so could be a great sport candidate. She is very good with other Border Collies, especially boys and instantly wants to play. She has the cutest freckles and wavy, curly coat that catches your eye, then she jumps right in your arms, hoping to capture your heart! Roxie is about 35 pounds and good with cats.

MAC found a wonderful home where he'll be the center of attention, enjoying the days with his FurMom and hiking with his FurDad. And, he's got a great yard to chase squirrels and 'work' the perimeter, which Mac just loves to do! They had been patiently waiting for just the right fit so when Mac returned to GHF, they agreed to come right away. So, he is now enjoying life in CT and even has a pool to call his own! We're really happy for this sweet guy who just loves being with people and won their hearts instantly.

MAC: A 5 year old Border Collie, Mac is an easy going, friendly, want to be with my person type of boy - he loves attention and loves people. He is smart and good natured, eager to connect with anyone around. Belly rubs and back scratches are his favorite! Mac loves having a BC buddy but could also be a solo dog since he's so people focused. He is not into toys at all, but prefers instead 'hanging with his person' and enjoying 'working' the perimeter of his yard, alert to everything going on. Mac is a bit overweight but will knock that off now with more exercise. He was adopted 4 years ago, living happily with a female BC and had an active life til the recent birth of children. Mac is happiest in a home without chaotic toddlers. His previous adopters adored him and feel awful about letting him go. He is not good with cats.

QUEST: A 9 year old Border Collie, Quest is a gem, absolutely a loving, friendly, good-natured boy. He is curious about everything and literally jumps up and over and into things to see what is going on, a bit puppy-like in his nature. Soon as his name is called, he comes on a dime for loving and is happy to sit by your side. Quest likes toys and is great with other dogs but clearly loves having a person to call his own. He and his brother lived on a NJ horse and hay farm where he spent most of his time alone outside. Quest is good with cats and 47 pounds, now at GHF due to a divorce and move.  The brothers can be happily placed together in one home or we will consider separating them.
QUEST & SHILOH found a new life together with the most wonderful family that suited them perfectly. Every now and then, very special people come for very special dogs and it's as if, a piece of destiny unfolds. These two brothers have had a hard life the past few years and deserved the most loving situation possible and it happened for them today! Their new FurMom and FurDad came to open their hearts and home to two dogs in need and hoped that Shiloh and Quest could fit their lives perfectly. They traveled a long distance to spend time to be sure going from two to four dogs would work well and it most certainly did...Shiloh loved playing with their duo non-stop and Quest loved having three people to give him attention since he's the most affectionate boy alive! We watched as this miracle unfolded for Quest and Shiloh and cherished the moment for the ringside seat to watching all the love blossom right here at the Farm! And, that is only the beginning of long time love affair! We are absolutely thrilled for these two boys and the loving people who now cherish them. They'll have plenty of hiking and swimming on their new land and for sure, an abundance of love.

SHILOH: A 9 year old Border Collie, Shiloh is a wonderful, amazing guy who is a classic BC with a brilliant mind and great disposition. He wants to be with his person and accompany them wherever they go, as his job. But, he also loves to play with toys, too, entertaining himself or enjoying a great game of retrieval with you. Shiloh is a love-bug, so affectionate and eager to be with his person. He'll do best with someone around most of the time since he so craves a strong relationship. Shiloh is great with other dogs and cats. He and his brother, Quest, were relinquished to GHF due to a divorce and move. He was living on a NJ horse and hay farm, alone most of the day until now. He does require a fenced yard. Shiloh is 42 lbs. The brothers can be happily placed together in one home or we will consider separating them.

Sweet SADIE came out to say hi to all the campers during the Canine Country Camp and won the heart of her new FurMom who decided she would join their lives! So, Sadie lives with GHF alum, Possum formerly Dawson and will enjoy all the BC fun she deserves since her new guardian just loves the breed and really understands how they think and what they need to be happy. She's already been swimming in the river and hung out at a nearby outside cafe, happy with all the attention from strangers. Sadie now lives in PA.

SADIE: An 11 year old Border Collie, Sadie is a brilliant girl who connects instantly with people. Her friendly nature is wonderful plus she's a classic BC with all the toy interest raring to go! She loves balls, frisbee and non-stop play though will fortunately now take a break when asked - we can just imagine this girl at age 1 and how energetic she was then cause she still can be now! Sadie is very easy to be with and adjusts easily to a new situation. She loves to be wherever her person is and stays close by your side with perfect recall to come and eagerness to please. Sadie is a wonderful, affectionate Border Collie. She is best suited to an adult household since that is what she is used to. Sadie is not good with cats. She was adopted in 2011 and now back at the Farm due to her intense focus on the adopter's horses.

Little WINNIE (now called Lexie) sat in a shelter in upstate NY and when we were asked to help, there was just no way to say no to a 9 week old girl who didn't deserve to be there, those big eyes asking for help. So, with the help of volunteers, Winnie was bound for GHF but she clearly had another idea in mind - friends of the transporters spent the evening with this sweet girl and just couldn't part with her, having lost their beloved dog not long ago. Winnie joined them in their Winnebago for an evening and that turned into forever! She now lives happily in upstate NY, right where she's supposed to be!!!

Little LOCKE, now known as River found a wonderful life with plenty of good BC friends and two guardians who are obviously crazy for this breed! They came for a second stay at the Getaway camp, not necessarily intending to add a new pup but once they heard about this girl, she won their hearts. Her beautiful blue eyes drew them right in and they knew she would be the perfect addition. River will do lots of hiking and BC games and we'll hopefully see her back at GHF next year for their next vacation when she'll be all grown up! She now lives in Canada.

LOCKE: A 5 1/2 month old Border Collie, Locke is a gentle girl who needs some reassurance to feel that things are safe for her. She is a super sweet BC who will blossom in the right situation. She loves tennis balls and is totally intrigued by other dogs but hasn't had a lot of experience in the real world seeing lots of people or dogs so needs a patient person to help her step by step, try new things. She's blossoming each day at the Farm and could quickly do well with the right people and right BC buddy. She follows the lead of a person nearby or a dog she likes so will be placed with a BC friend for sure. Locke previously lived in a home where she was crated way too long to manage her energy, in a suburban family situation which was not appropriate for her. We are so happy she is at GHF and know this marvelous little girl will transform in the right hands.

BRODIN landed at the Farm just in time to meet his new guardians- campers who were eager to meet a GHF rescue to add to their lives. They came for a Getaway, with their sweet girl Annie and it was Brodin who clicked the best with her, both giving play bows and nudges and totally teaming up as a great match, clearly enamored with each other. They were thrilled to add this sweet boy to their home and give him the love he so deserves. Brodin, now Brody, lives in PA where he'll be the constant companion to his FurMom and have plenty to do with her daughter, on weekends cause she loves the BC energy level!

BRODIN: A 1 year old Border Collie mix, Brodin is a sweet, gentle, loving guy. He quickly comes up for attention and wants to cuddle. If other dogs are around, he's happy to race and chase and join the group but he clearly loves a person and attention. A smart, observant boy, he is eager to please and bond. Brodin could be a solo dog or be happy with a canine friend. He is very very sweet. He is good with cats and about 35 pounds. Brodin & Cody are brothers fortunately landing safely in rescue, for lives that better suit them. Cody's guardians knew that Brodin had been left, abandoned alone when his people moved. One of our volunteers found him hiding under the stairs of the empty home. We have no idea how long he was there alone but fortunately those days are now behind him.

NEWMAN found his forever home with GHF alum, Panda and a BC mix buddy, Zoe, both of which were vacationing at The Getaway at GHF! His new guardians had adopted twice from the Farm and felt ready to add another after the recent loss of GHF alum, Ben so Newman got a chance to share his sweet heart with them. They enjoyed plenty of trail walks, which Newman loves and an overnight which sealed the deal as Newman fit in just fine with the two girls. Newman will be cherished and enjoy lots of love in his new home in Massachusetts and we just may see him again soon next spring! We're really happy for this wonderful boy who deserves to live in a home, not outside like he'd spent the last seven years prior to coming to GHF. He slept soundly on his FurMom's chest for almost the entire night!

NEWMAN: An 8 year old Border Collie, Newman is a sweet guy, a gentle soul, happy for attention. He quietly comes up to say hello and will stay by your side. Newman is super friendly and loves affection.  He is easy going and likes the outdoors especially since he used to chase geese off the property where he lived. Now it's time to be a companion and enjoy lots of love which he will treasure!  He looks to a person for guidance and is not overly active but still has plenty of energy for a very active life. Newman absolutely loves playing with toys and is adorable to watch as he gallops around tossing them in the air, happy as can be! Newman likes to swim, too. He is 45 pounds and is not good with cats. Newman was originally relinquished due to the old age of his NJ guardian. Newman has been trained on the invisible fence.

OAKLEIGH is a little pup who knew where he wanted to be and simply made sure he got there, in a round-a-bout way! His new FurMom had been thinking of a puppy for the past few months, passing the very pet store where he was sitting, just minutes, from her home in NJ. She forced herself to not go in, knowing that buying from a pet store supports puppy mill breeding.  Turns out, little Oakleigh grew bigger and got older til he went 'on sale' and that's when he went to a home with a Pennsylvania couple, who after two short weeks, had to move and knew they couldn't meet his needs. They were heading to a PA shelter that just so happens to regularly work with GHF so he came to the Farm. The story gets even more interesting because he came to the Farm just as his new FurMom was coming to vacation at the Getaway Camp, both actually arriving the same day. Oakleigh got a lift with fellow campers who handed him off to us, just about the time his new FurMom was arriving with her beloved Ben, for a restful getaway. The morning of her departure, she mentioned the idea of a puppy, checking out what Ben had to say, in an animal communication session....well...guess who fit the vision perfectly...Oakleigh! Soon as we met this little guy, we knew he was not your typical pup and tagged him, an 'old-soul' pup on a mission...he knew where he was going and this whole amazing adoption story confirmed it! Oakleigh now lives in NJ, just minutes from where he was waiting for his person to find him! We'll get to see him as he grows up when they're back for vacation!

OAKLEIGH: A 4 month old Border Collie mix, Oakleigh is smart as a whip, eager to learn and loves people. He has a fearless attitude about everything, curious and bold. Oakleigh adjusts beautifully to new things and goes with the flow, meeting dogs and people alike, with confidence. Oakleigh loves toys of any kind and is ready to go, go, go! He has just arrived so we'll update his bio shortly with a sense of what's the best situation for him. He has lots of energy and needs an outlet for his mind and body. He was given up to a PA shelter by someone who had him 2 weeks and felt he was too much. Thankfully, one of our PA shelter friends stepped in to get him to GHF to be placed properly.

Sweet SADIE landed in a great life with former GHF adopters who were looking for a the perfect friend for Jack (the camera shy BC pretending nothing is happening, stage right!). He and Sadie were clearly a fabulous fit, racing, chasing, turning on a dime, wrestling - it was adorable to watch unfold. So, off Sadie went to CT where she'll be cherished for all that sweet nature and have a fast, fun- loving life playing, BC style! We'll even get to see her next year at the Getaway Camp since her new guardians love to vacation here! They are BC lovers and enjoy all the space for both their dogs and themselves!

SADIE: A petite 8 month old Border Collie, Sadie is a love-bug, happiest by your side wherever you go. She is very affectionate and easy going until she has her BC buddy. Then, she's a rough and tumble player, racing and chasing and happy as can be. She is sensitive and smart and will need a patient person to help her through new situations. Once she's comfortable, she really blossoms. She is about 30 pounds and best with dog savvy cats. She came to GHF with her sister, Lila, thanks to a dog lover who stepped in to get them out of an awful situation, left alone in a small pen 24/7 in NY. Both girls are super sweet and could be adopted together or with another BC, males preferrred.

JIMMY: A 10 month old Border Collie mix, Jimmy is a smart, quick learner and is eager to please with whatever is asked of him. He's an easy going guy who likes playing with other dogs and is really happiest with a buddy. While he likes toys, he really loves dogs and his person, especially sharing his wonderful 'border collie hug'. Jimmy is fine with cats. He is being fostered in Buffalo NY and can be see there or at the Farm. He was a stray in a NY shelter.
JIMMY found a new life with former adopters and GHF alum, Honey where he can be a cherished friend for a long time! He's a youngster so adding some excitement to sweet Honey's life and lots of laughter for his new guardians, too. They were ready for this character and happy to have all that joyful energy in their home. He lives in NY.

SHEP found her new life with GHF alum, Raleigh, adopted a few years ago and she'll now be totally adored, just like he is! Her new FurMom was checking out the site and as soon as she saw Shep's face, she wrote that she had to come for that girl! Shep was thrilled and has already been at home, settling in like she lived there forever! Shep now lives in PA.

SHEP: A 10 year old Border Collie/Sheltie, Shep is a doll. She loves everyone and is instantly eager to make friends and go with anyone doing anything interesting - she is quite a lively character! In fact, when she first came to GHF, we were sure she was about 6 or 7 years old, she's so active and athletic. Shep loves belly rubs and is super affectionate. She's a toy girl, too though loves exploring outdoors the most, curious to check out everything on the property. Shep is a well- mannered girl and aims to please. She is best with submissive male dogs since she's like most female BC's, a bit of a boss. Shep is about 45 pounds and not good with cats. She needs a hard fence since in her previous home, she would stray off because their invisible fence was not working properly. She came to us originally picked up as a stray in NH and her previous guardians then relinquished her to the Farm, feeling we could find her a better situation. We're happy to have her in rescue and know this girl will be a cherished family member with someone who really will adore her. Shep has had a full geriatric screen and her bloodwork, thyroid values and urinalysis are all perfectly normal.
