Little pup JOY found someone who will not only adore her for the rest of her life, he’ll be with her 24/7 cause she will go everywhere with him! She’s going to work at the campus and hanging with his students who are so excited to meet her and then heading off as his non-stop pal for all kinds of canine fun - ball, frisbee, swimming, hiking - she’s got it all! She now lives in New Hampshire with a FurDad that is beyond thrilled to add another beloved Border Collie to his life!

Little JUNE found the perfect match - a canine buddy who loves to chase and race which thrilled June plus a new FurMom who was looking for a new pup for sports. This little powerhouse will try agility and any other activity that seems to suit her and judging from today’s initial visit, she’s going to do well in anything she tries! June now lives in NJ.

A 1 1/2 year old Border Collie mix, Jamie is a funny guy with whiskers, clearly got a bit of some other breed in there that stands out! He is also a tall boy with lots of interest in running   - he bounds around with such abandon - he makes us all laugh. He has no herding tendencies but sure loves toys! Jamie is super sweet and really wants to connect with someone to call his own. Jamie needs someone who understands that he is a sensitive dog so can worry with new settings at first. He really seeks reassurance from the person that is his, looking to them for guidance. Once he feels comfortable, he is like a big puppy so happy to check things out and meet everyone.  He also absolutely loves to play with other dogs and ‘reads’ them well so gets along with many easily. He’d be happy with another canine buddy who likes to wrestle, chase and play.   He is good with cats though likes to play with them so needs a cat used to that if a cat is in the home.  He is about 50 pounds and was a stray in PA.

JAMIE & BOGIE found a new life, TOGETHER when their new guardians came to add a fun friend to their pack. Once they realized that Jamie fit nicely with their duo, they felt it would make sense to add Bogie, too because he fit like a glove. They were used to a large pack so having four felt easy to them and this group blended wonderfully all together. Jamie & Bogie were roomies at GHF so were already very compatible for a long life together. After an overnight at GHF, it was clear having everyone as one family, would be ideal! Jamie & Bogie now live in PA as the constant companion to their new FurMom, on 7 acres, for tons of fun. We know both these boys will love this life!

BOGIE: A 6 month old Border Collie mix, Bogie is an adorable, happy, good natured, energetic guy! Like any young pup, he is full of steam that needs an outlet so playing with another young dog, suits him well. Bogie is a taller BC and very physical so could easily match a golden or lab for play style and can easily overwhelm some smaller dogs. He means no harm, it’s all fun, Bogie style! He is a big toy boy too, grabbing anything and everything for playtime, including pant legs or shoes, too! He’s a lively, outgoing boy and while he’s good with kids, we would prefer older teenagers or an adult home with another canine pal since he’s such a big boy. Bogie is fine with cats and weighs about 45 pounds. He found his way to GHF due to his energy needs being more than what the person who bought him, expected.

Sweet SHEY landed a life where he’d have all his needs met - from lots of hiking to frisbee to trying any sport he’s interested in - Shey’s new FurMom and Dad love keeping their dogs busy and happy! He’ll also get plenty of cuddling and lap time, which he really loves, too! Shey has a new canine buddy for chase games which happened instantly at the Farm when they met. So, Shey is off to a great new life in Massachusetts!

SHEY: A petite 11 month old Border Collie mix, Shey is a delightful, sweet character. He is full of spunk, curiosity and confidence! He loves everyone, literally happy to say hello anytime to anyone, really adorable to watch. He is a tiny guy so quite the athlete as he leaps over dogs and goes under them or into the air, all four feet off the ground. He’s now learning frisbee to see if that suits him for a mental and physical outlet since he seems so natural for the sport. Shey also loves to swim and hike, joining pack members in his foster home for lots of exploration. He bonds very quickly so would be a great outdoor partner for someone who loves to have a dog going places with them. Shey is fine with cats. He is about 30 pounds. He came from a home situation that didn’t understand his needs so the PA shelter where he landed, contacted GHF to find him an appropriate life. He’s a great little guy, really flexible to adjust to new settings well. He could be a solo dog but absolutely loves other dogs so would be happiest with a canine buddy, too.

Sweet CASSIE caught the attention of former GHF adopters who knew it was time to have another great dog in their lives.  They’d mourned the loss of their beloved Clemie and wanted to return to GHF, hoping for that same heartfelt bond.  Soon as they called, Cassie was the one to discuss and once they met her, it was crystal clear why this loving girl  would suit them perfectly. Cassie gladly shared her vote to go home with them, with tons of affection!! Cassie now lives in NJ where she’ll enjoy  hikes along the nearby lake plus, with their kids grown, Cassie will be the center of attention, as their constant companion. We know she’ll love that!

CASSIE: A 2 year old Border Collie/Aussie mix, Cassie is a sweetheart, loving life and everyone in it! She is great with other dogs, happy to hang and play though most comfortable with more submissive dogs rather than bossy ones. Cassie really loves people, cuddling and playing and hanging out, content to be wherever you are, by your side. She’s a toy girl too and likes chase games, zooming around happily like a pup. She has no herding drive or intensity like a purebred BC so would be a great family dog and companion. She is about 35 pounds and good with cats. She was given to GHF, by her NY guardian, due to a move.

ZANE or ZANEY as he’s been affectionately called, has a life that suits him with everything he could want - a canine pal who races and chases around just like him; a young woman who will be his 24/7 person; two guardians who love active dogs and a great playground complete with a nearby beach, a nature preserve with dogs trails, agility club for training and his own yard, of course! Zane was exactly the dog they were looking for!! We were thrilled for him. He now lives in NY.

ZANE: A 6 month old Border Collie mix, Zane is 50% Border Collie! according to the DNA test, and part fox terrier which explains his lean look. He landed at GHF as a 2 month old pup and has grown into a handsome, wonderful boy. Zane’s favorite thing in life is other dogs - he just loves them - and loves to play endlessly. He’s up for chase games or wrestling or just hanging out and exploring outside. Easy going and good natured, Zane would be happy with someone who enjoys a smart, focused and yet independent boy since he’s got such a unique blend of breeds. He loves to learn with treats and is eager to please but he’s not a demanding, non-stop, ‘gotta do something’ dog, instead he’ll entertain himself. Or, play with his canine pals! The more, the merrier. He is about 30 pounds and not yet tested on cats. Zane was adopted into a home without other dogs and it wasn’t the best situation so he came back to GHF.

PIPPA needed just the right person who would understand her fears and help build her confidence, without any expectation of the end result or pushing her too fast too quickly. Lucky Pippa landed a former GHF adopter who has all the skills to help this young BC blossom! She and her daughter and GHF alum, Ripple, came to overnight, just to see Pippa and within minutes, knew not only could they offer her help, they loved her, too. So, off she went to Vermont where she’ll live a great country life and have lots of step by step guidance to handle the real world of strangers. We know she’s in good hands and with good hearts now.

PIPPA: A 7 month old Border Collie, Pippa is a pretty girl with lots of charm and sweetness once she feels safe and knows who you are, truly a cuddler. However, she had a very isolated lifestyle so is nervous with strangers and needs time to get to know new people, with help from another confident dog in the setting as well as a person, guiding her to feel secure. She will need a very patient, skilled guardian so that this can be shaped into a positive outcome in a short amount of time. We are working with her now, step by step, to lay a foundation of successes that an adopter can continue. She loves toys and loves to play with other dogs and is a true ‘diamond in the rough’. She is not yet tested on cats and is about 35 pounds.

Sweet, wonderful DEVAN went to one of our Caretakers for fostering and will be staying. She fell in love as he joined the pack easily and happily! Devan will have a life of total love, proper care and lots to do, joining active herding dogs along with plenty of cuddling! He loves to be glued next to her and she loves that, too!

DEVAN: A 3 year old Aussie, Devan is one of the most magnificent characters to land in rescue in a long time. Perhaps it’s because of his impairments…hearing and sight…sometimes that transforms a relationship between human and dog to be more intimate, instantly. THAT is exactly what Devan seems to command of everyone who meets him - it’s as if his heart is front and center, totally searching for a human heart to meet his. Everyone of us at GHF who have met him and even those at the vet and groomer, were drawn to him. Devan is a heart worker for sure, a wonderful boy who will connect on such a deep level that whomever is lucky enough to be his friend, receives the gift of unconditional love. He landed at GHF when a caring dog lover spotted him online in a very crowded city PA shelter and wrote hoping we would help. He was a stray. Aussie rescue was full so GHF stepped in and we are very glad we did! A special thanks to Kathleen Devaney, whom he has now been named after. Devan is wonderful with other dogs, fine with cats and clearly, great with people! He is about 55 pounds, completely deaf and has limited vision, neither of which stop him from being a magnificent friend.

Wonderful, adorable, fiesty CORA now has guardians to call her own and boy, is she happy and so are they! As her new FurDad said, he loves her name because it means HEART and he feels that she has a heart of gold, just an adorable canine friend, exactly what he hoped for. Cora sat right at his feet, clearly voting for her new life soon as they all met. Her new FurMom is excited to have such an outgoing girl to teach tricks and maybe even agility so Miss Cora is on her way to a fabulous life, adored and challenged! A huge thanks to Ann Gardner for helping Cora realize how great life can be! No longer abandoned on the street, suffering from lack of care, this girl has it all!!!

CORA: A petite 8 year old Border Collie mix, Cora is the cutest thing, full of personality and spunk, making everyone chuckle. She gets so excited that her whole body wiggles as she comes over for attention. If you play a little game of moving around back and forth, she just is over-joyed with excitement!  Cora is a gem, truly delightful.  She came to GHF from a PA shelter clearly in rough shape with an awful skin condition and very very underweight.  She’s gaining now and her skin and coat look good and she’s feeling great! Cora gets along well with other dogs though seems to be a bit of a boss so likely to do best with submissive dogs.  Cora is 30 pounds and is not good with cats.

CORKY landed a life that she will love in a way that only she can do - a shared yard between two good friends so an extended ‘family’ of folks around all the time! Their application was so charming and so engaging, asking GHF to consider this unusual circumstance to suit just the right dog and in fact - Corky is their girl! She’s headed off to western Ny for life on 5 acres, surrounded by humans and two cool canines who thought she was just fine to join their pack! The humans adored her instantly and she felt quite the same - literally going person to person to give her wonderful Corky hello kiss and then ready for some action, playing ball! They loved her focus and intensity but it was that Corky charm that won their hearts. The whole group came together in their Rv so we got wave goodbye to Corky on the road ‘camp style’ to her new world! Way to go Corky!!

CORKY: A 11 year old Border Collie with ABCA papers, Corky is a love. She is very very people oriented and loves to be with her person. She also loves a great game of ball and will happily play as long as you throw! She’s a young girl in attitude and energy when outside and then wonderful inside too, curling up at your feet.  She has done agility and obedience and has her Canine Good Citizen certificate as a therapy dog. Corky is one of those exceptional Border Collies born long before the breed became popularized. She is smart, focused and understands what it means to be a close friend and partner with a person.  She used to vacation at GHF with her FurMom so we’ve known Corky for years. She lived with Pepper and Chips, all three relinquished to the Farm due to her guardian’s illness. These were beloved family members who thankfully found safe haven here.  All three are fabulous dogs. Corky is carrying some extra weight now which will come off easily. She is good with cats. Corky would be fine living as a solo dog or with other dogs. She and Pepper get along famously, too. Corky is a bit hard of hearing so needs a fenced yard. She does hear a loud whistle, barking and other sounds but the less than perfect hearing, makes unfenced properties too risky.  (Corky video)

Sweet young 3 month old BUDDY landed in a great home thanks to one of GHF’s volunteers who heard he needed a new place to live! She went to meet the pup and traveling home with him, had the feeling that a good friend would adore him so Buddy found a home from a home and is all set, lovingly adored! Sometimes the right person is in the right place at the right time and the dog lands beautifully - a bit of destiny at work!

Beautiful BRIT won the hearts of her new guardians instantly! They came to see two GHF dogs and never got past Brit. They even came to overnight to help make the right decision carefully and instead, got back in the car, wanting to be home with her right away. Brit now lives in NJ where she’ll be with her FurDad 24/7 for tons of ball play, frisbee and hikes. Former GHF adopters, they were patiently waiting for a special girl to arrive at GHF and will come back for a friend soon! Savvy BC people, she was exactly what they wanted and she felt right at home with them, too.

BRIT: A petite 10 month old Border Collie, Brit is really showing her brilliant mind, as she investigates everything around her. She is very curious and clearly tuned into everything, a real thinker. Brit is super sweet, a very friendly, submissive girl with people, eager to be in your lap and your best friend. Once the toys come out or action happens, it’s easy to see how her mind works as she begins to maneuver to manage the action! She loves to retrieve! Brit is great with other Border Collies, joining a pack easily and negotiating toy play without any conflicts. She would be great with a male BC buddy who is easy going, not overly controlling since she can be a bit soft with dogs. Brit is a sensitive girl, in general, so would do best in a calmer home without chaos where she can be the focus of attention. She was a stray in a shelter in PA. She is about 30 pounds and best with dog savvy cats.

CHASER has a new life that suits him - chasing geese! He’s always loved following the birds and now he has that as his main focus! He’ll learn the ropes from a GHF alum, Roxy, who is at work every day. Chaser will join the effort as well as have a loving home with other canine buddies, and a wonderful FurMom with great dog skills. She is exactly the right fit for him, understanding all his worries and talents, both!

CHASER: A 1 1/2 year old Border Collie/Aussie mix, Chaser is a super athlete, one of the most graceful runners and jumpers we’ve seen. He loves to move his body and can leap easily over anything, even a fence. He’s not interested in leaving though so will do fine in a fenced yard. Chaser is super intelligent, a very interesting combination of confidence and thoughtfulness. He will only be placed with a savvy person who understands herding breeds since a big part of his satisfaction comes from the connection with a person who ‘gets' him. He is good with other dogs but a bit picky and would prefer a human connection first and foremost. He loves toys and loves attention. Since he has such a mental approach to situations, he will only go to an adult home. He is fine with cats. He is about 40 pounds, typical in size

Lovely, little PRIM won the hearts of her fosterers and now has two GHF alums as her pack! This great trio is adorable together and we know Prim will clearly be cherished forever. So very wonderful to see as life officially unfolds for her beyond fostering. "Prim is an amazing little dog…..she has gifted us with her heart and we have gifted her with ours…… We love her, she loves us, and this is the perfect place for her…..Prim and I are happy to say that she is home…"

PRIM, A VERY petite 2 year old Border Collie, Prim is really thriving at GHF. She’s living at the Connor House and enjoying the interaction of other dogs. she loves to race and chase with toys, making up herding free-for-all games!  She is so tiny and yet so full of personality, just adorable. Prim is also learning about a house as she hops on the bed for cuddling or races out the door for more action!  She’s doing beautifully, step by step. Prim is about 25 pounds and not yet tested on cats.  She lived in a horrible situation with totally inappropriate care.. never touched, never outside and never with clean water or clean quarters, part of a breeding operation.

We are so thrilled for lovely, little NYA…her foster family has fallen madly in love with her gentle ways and watched her bravely step into a new life with them. So, they want her to stay!! As her new FurMom said: "she is the purest being, so earnest and so courageous, she has lots of spirit, just a wonderful girl”. Happiest news of all, Nya kisses her right on the check while she’s sleeping! Yeah Nya!!! You’re home to be loved forever, no worries or fears ahead ever again. Indiana and that awful history are long gone, forever.

NYA: A petite 5 year old Border Collie, Nya is a very smart, very interesting girl who watches everything around her to figure it all out. And she does that pretty well. She absolutely loves playing with the other BC’s at GHF and is quite a little herder.  She does best with dogs who don’t mind her style of herding which is coming pretty close to their bodies but she also loves to wrestle and make up other active chase games. Nya is adorable to watch.  She will come to you for treats and engages well with a person.  Like her other Indiana siblings, she will need someone patient to keep building her confidence but Nya, by far, is the bravest of the group and has come the farthest so far.  She is about 30 pounds and not  yet tested on cats.  Nya had an awful life, confined inside amidst feces and urine without clean water or loving human contact, part of a breeder operation.

SPENCE, now known as Spencer found guardians that are perfect for him - not only will they love and adore him, they're going to introduce him to therapy work, just like they did with their former GHF alum, Izzy, who for many years, visited VA homes and hospital wards. They hope that Spencer will do the same, sharing his sweet nature. We agreed that this very special, gentle boy had the temperament to step into some big 'paws' and help lots of humans!!! Spencer is now on his way, another great GHF ambassador.

SPENCE: An 1 year old Border Collie mix, Spence is a love. He is friendly to everyone and anyone that crosses his path! He is easy going and yet smart and eager to bond and takes direction well from his person. Spence is a very compliant, well balanced young boy with the potential to try any activity. He would be happy playing with other dogs, racing and chasing, too. He is about 30 pounds and is good with dog savvy cats. This handsome boy was being given away ‘free to good home’ by people who had no time for him. We’re thrilled we could get him into rescue.

BUD landed exactly the life he wanted! A wonderful guy to call his own, teaming up as his ‘bud’ and a pack of busy herding buddies, all game for fun! His new guardians came to overnight to be sure the mix was right and after one evening, it was so clear that Bud and his new FurDad were in sync, there was just no question about his fit. His new FurMom agreed that he fit the pack just fine! Bud and his pals headed out on the GHF trails for swimming, chasing and ball games, having a blast. We’ll see Bud soon in August when they return to vacation at GHF! Bud now lives in Massachusetts. He’ll soon be heading off for a month long work trip with his FurDad, two pals in the truck! Bud will LOVE that!!!

BUD: A 1 1/2 year old Border Collie, BUD is a great guy, happy, good-natured and ready for action! He loves to play ball and he mixes it up with the other rescue dogs, having a grand time, fitting with pretty much any dog. Bud is focused BC who loves to play non-stop but he also loves to hang with his person and go wherever they go! He is smart and balanced. Bud was originally from a Colorado breeder, living in one home since a pup. A move to NJ and a toddler in the house, left his former guardians unable to focus on him the way he deserved, so he was surrendered to GHF. He is about 45 pounds and best with dog savvy cats since he’s likely to chase, but will not harm them.

Puppy ABE, now Beck, came to foster care and within short order, had quite a health scare requiring that he be hospitalized for observation and testing. An extremely hard week of intensive care and extreme expenses finally led to the great news that whatever created Abe’s illness, was gone and he had a clean bill of health. Since Abe came with two siblings, we held adoptions of the other two pups til this was settled. As Abe’s fosterer cared for him so carefully and closely, it’s understandable that she fell in love so this handsome boy now has a loving home, forever, as well as his good health back. We are thrilled since Abe/Beck will be visiting the Farm frequently cause his new FurMom is our first GHF Caretaker! He’s in great loving hands and their hearts are forever united.

Lucky RUBY & JASPER found a new life they are going to love - 17 acres with their own pond and as 24/7 companions to their new guardians - perfect for them!  This wonderful duo steps in following another fabulous pair adopted in 2003, carrying on a GHF legacy. Their new FurMom and FurDad were thrilled to provide a great life to these two and will love them dearly.  Ruby & Jasper couldn’t wait to jump in their car and get started!!!  They now live in NY.

JASPER & RUBY, 6 year old siblings, are quite a pair! They love to play ball with equal intensity, speed and focus though Ruby is ultimately in charge, of course, (like most female BC’s). Jasper is used to their relationship so they have it all worked out. Jasper & Ruby have lived together all their lives around lots of people, kids and cats, fitting in well with all the action. They do well hiking off leash and love being with their people. Super friendly, easy going and high energy, they are classic examples of what makes people fall in love with the breed. While they thrive on action, they also love attention and cuddling. They were surrendered directly to GHF due to a change in lifestyle, from Rhode Island guardians. They each weigh about 40 pounds and are good with cats.

Sweet pup PENN found a new life with former adopters who had patiently waited for him to arrive at GHF. They eagerly wanted to add a 2nd BC to their lives, in addition to beloved Jem and senior canine Kizzy. After meeting adult dogs, Penn came out and these two clicked and an overnight stay, things went even better and it was clear their family would now be complete. Penn will be with his new FurDad 24/7 and get to hang out a nearby pond which he’ll love and play plenty of ball all day too! We even get to see the gang this fall as they return for another Getaway at GHF! Camera shy Jem happily headed out with her new bud once the picture taking session ended!

PENN: A 5 month old Border Collie, Penn is a great guy, really happy go lucky and loves to join in the fun, wherever he is! He is focused and learns quickly whatever you ask of him. He also loves toys but is not overly intense, rather he loves cuddling just as much. Penn is also quite a swimmer, making a game out of the bubbles he creates. Super sweet, this clever guy, he’s a joy to be around. Penn has been well socialized with adult BC’s and loves to play so would be happiest with a canine pal. He is 15 pounds and fine with cats.

Little ANNA has some big shoes to fill as the important first pup for her FurMom and Dad’s daughter. Anna’s new canine pals enjoyed walking the field at the Farm as they came to meet a few pups but it was little Anna that sealed the deal, the absolutely perfect fit for everyone. This important new friendship will change both lives with a heartfelt connection that lasts forever. We’re so happy to watch this all unfold as it was meant to be. So, not only has Anna found her work, she’ll get to play at the nearby ocean and even get to try agility!

ANNA: A 3 month old Border Collie, Anna is very thoughtful and observant, classic like many female Bc’s. She is already testing her ability to be in charge and focuses easily on whatever interests her. Super smart, Anna is confident but not bold, taking her time deciding what she wants to do. She will only be placed in a BC savvy home where her needs are understood. She is now at the Farm and ready for adoption

Wonderful OREN landed a life that he really deserves and we’re sure he will love - five acres to call his own plus a pond, some sheep, chickens and a BC pal who likes to chase balls like he does - it’s perfect! His new guardians fell in love with his sweet, friendly nature and were thrilled to see how well he fit their girl, Saja. The two of them raced for the ball with great enthusiasm and then headed in for a rest and lots of love and attention. Oren will clearly be cherished.

OREN: An 8 month old Border Collie, Oren is a gorgeous guy with a wonderful spirit, very, very sweet and gentle. He is a ‘soft’ BC, needing reassurance at times but also bold, once settled and eager to jump into the fun with other BC’s. Oren loves to herd other dogs so would do well with another BC buddy who could really be his friend, making up herding games together. He is smart and eager to please, just starting to really learn about life and he's starting to enjoy toys now that someone is connecting to him to bring out his drive to play. Oren is good with cats and about 40 pounds.

ZEUS found a wonderful life with two GHF alums, Brenna & Rudy, joining them for a life of so much fun and love, he won’t believe it! We know his new guardians well since they’ve visited two other times and then on a Getaway vacation so this hand-picked boy is now truly home, forever. He overnighted with his new FurMom and her son, enjoyed hiking on the trails and swimming in the creek, making a few fun-filled nights the start of a great life together. Zeus will be trained for therapy work, like Rudy, both big heart dogs with important jobs to do.

ZEUS: A 9 month old Border Collie mix, Zeus is a love, just the nicest, friendliest guy around. He loves everyone and happily says hello to any person nearby…clearly people are wonderful in his book! Zeus is easy going, not overly intense in his focus like a purebred, really more enjoying some play and running games with canine pals and then cuddles with his person. Zeus would be a wonderful companion where he also had a canine pal…he really loves to play with another active dog though not needing to be a BC. He has no herding focus so his play is more wrestling and chase. He also loves balls and lots of toy play. He truly wants to be with people so needs someone devoted to his happiness and development. In his previous home, he was too much energy and due to landlord issues, they relinquished him directly to GHF. He is good with dog savvy cats and about 50 pounds. He is trained on the Invisible Fence system. He came from VA.

Wonderful, sweet, funny BO found new guardians who adore his gentle nature and were also totally charmed by his lap dog antics - a true love bug! Former GHF adopters, they wanted a less intense BC this time, a bit more easy going, friendly, and a real buddy to join their lives - Bo fit perfectly! He’ll have two acres to call his own, a place to go swimming and join his FurDad for work sometimes, hanging in the truck as he travels around. We know Bo will love this new life.

BO: A 1 year old Border Collie mix, Bo is the sweetest guy..he truly is friendly the minute he sees you…no hesitation at all. We feel he’s BC/Collie cause his nature is so gentle and he is so light on his feet, very agile and moves swiftly and beautifully. Bo so wants a play friend, eagerly inviting every Border Collie to play though most just want to herd or catch the ball. Bo is definitely a boy who needs a buddy for chasing and racing games. He’s a submissive guy and easily lets the purebred BC’s be the boss but he’d much rather have a pal for fun! He loves to cuddle and be in your lap, not realizing he’s outgrown those puppy days. We all just think he’s a doll. Bo will need an invisible fence system since he can monkey over a normal hard fence. Bo is about 50 pounds and will chase cats outdoors but is fine with indoor cats, probably ideal if they are dog savvy.  We will update his bio once we see how he does with indoor cats. He was relinquished to the Farm from an elderly couple who felt he was way too much for them.

ANNI, now named LUX, has found her person, the one she knows will help her life unfold exactly as it’s supposed to…lots of ball play, lots of hikes and lots of love! But, even more, they are kindred spirits, finding each other on a very heartfelt level, reunited. Her new FurMom met Anni on a GHF tour while vacationing here and felt so drawn to her, she rearranged her entire schedule to quickly return to spend an overnight. The pull back to Anni was very strong and once she spent the night, she was certain, this was ‘her dog’. Watching Anni was amazing for us to witness because their connection was clearly very special. Ever humbling, rescue is always about souls together on a journey.

ANNI: A 5 year old Border Collie, Anni loves her toys, especially ball retrieval and she is great at it! Super focused, she stalks and stares and crouches, waiting for that perfect throw. Quite the athlete, Anni loves her ‘work’. She is also a great hiking partner, really gorgeous as she runs ahead, always tracking where you are, with her. Anni plays a ‘hide-n-seek’ game peeking out from behind trees, waiting for you to catch up! She is good with other dogs but mostly, indifferent, much more focused on her human partner. Anni is suited to an adult home where someone understands her mental needs and really engages her in a respectful, intelligent way. She doesn’t like the chaos of family life and being crowded by lots of people also makes her uncomfortable. Anni is a very special girl with a brilliance that shines through soon as you spend time with her. She is good with cats and about 40 pounds. She was relinquished directly to GHF from a NY city setting by a young couple now focused on their toddler and living in a family neighborhood. Anni had previously been their sole focus.

ROSIE landed the ideal life for her with two loving guardians who adore her, as well as a pal, GHF alum, DOC! She won their hearts with her remarkably sweet nature as they hiked the Farm trails with both dogs as part of their Getaway vacation.  Rosie and Doc settled into an easy routine like they’d lived together all their lives.  Her new FurMom and FurDad couldn’t be happier to add another loving BC who truly deserves to be cherished.

ROSIE: A 9 year old Border Collie, Rosie is spectacular - responsive, smart, eager to bond, involved in everything around her and ready to go, go, go! This beautiful girl has all the classic traits of a BC with brains and heart. She chooses people as her main interest, thrilled for a cuddle, though she’s quite the herder and keeps tabs on all the action including cars, too. Rosie will need to live in more rural setting, with a fenced yard where traffic is not in sight. She is indifferent to other dogs so we are assessing what would make her happiest, being a solo dog or having a compatible friend. She is about 45 pounds and good with cats. Rosie is loving the ability to explore at GHF, all the fields and dogs and people, truly quite the ambassador of the BC world.

Little MAGGIE charmed her new guardians quickly as she came out with sweetness and smarts all in one little dynamo package! They had been so eager to rescue a Border Collie and it was this little girl that caught their eye and stole their hearts. Maggie agreed that a loving home would suit her just fine! She is going to be with them all the time and even have acres and acres of conservation land nearby that she can explore for years to come! They’re going to give her a chance to try agility, too, and see what she thinks of that - we bet she’ll love it!

MAGGIE: A little 3 month old powerhouse, Maggie knows what she likes and she’s not shy about going after it..a sweetheart with people, we’re pretty sure Maggie is going to be a lead dog with other dogs. She’s super smart, watches everything around her and then figures out what she wants to do next. Maggie loves to play with toys and will engage with another BC buddy easily, creating a game of tug so we’d prefer to place her with a male BC pal to give her more dimension in her life. Maggie is also a big cuddler and loves attention though you can see her wheels turning as she meets new people, sorting the ‘who is who’ in every situation. Maggie is 10 pounds, normal in size for her age. She is good with cats. Maggie will only be placed in a BC savvy home.

Mighty little MEL landed a family with plenty of love to go around and lots of time to meet her needs. Her new FurMom is eager to focus on all the activities suited to Border Collies that fit with their active family who love the country. Mel has 12 acres to call her own and a nearby 300 acre farm that belong to the family so Mel will be hiking til her heart’s content! They were so thrilled to add this special pup to their lives and we’re happy for Mel who is about to be cherished!

MEL: An adorable 3 month old Border Collie, probably mix, Mel’s ears keep changing, giving her the looks to match her personality - she’s precious! She is a thoughtful girl with good body/mind coordination, agile in her movements but calculated with her thoughts. A sensitive gentle soul, she’s delightful to get to know, a really special pup. Mel is clearly a female BC sorting through all that goes on around her, deciding what seems right to her, then going for it! She loves to play with other dogs but doesn’t need to be in charge of the action, just seemingly joining in cause it’s the right thing to do. She is food motivated and eager to learn so could be fun to teach. Mel has a big personality in this little 10 pound body and she’s good with cats.

ZIGGY is going to have a blast in his new life, getting to try every dog activity you can imagine - agility, freestyle, herding, obedience, swimming - his new FurMom loves to find challenging activities for all her canine pals. As she said, ‘I’m happiest watching how happy they are when they do things they love to do!” She adored Ziggy soon as he landed in her lap for a big hello, Ziggy style. Then watched as he hit it off with her big boy, Ace, making up chase games together. This great trio unfolded right before our eyes and felt like the ideal life for Ziggy. Now named after a baseball great, Mookie aka Ziggy, is about to have a grand life!!!

ZIGGY: A 4 month old Border Collie, possibly mix, Ziggy is an adorable, fun-loving, sweet character. He is a little sensitive so does well with reassurance when he encounters new situations like new dogs or new people. He’s very friendly once settled and very smart - figuring out puzzle games in minutes! He likes a challenge but isn’t too demanding so a bit more easy going than a purebred. He loves to play with other dogs and does best having a confident, easy going canine pal to help him relax easily. A rough and tumble player, a friend would be ideal. Ziggy also loves the water and will play in it all day! He is 35 pounds and is good with cats. He and the pups at the Connor House are loving their new Puppy Playground, donated by Tracy & Jeff Beck, in honor of founder pups, Ema & Kiely.

NIKA found the perfect person to become her partner in life, enjoying all the fun stuff: human and canine, together! Their chemistry was instant with comfortable cuddling, hiking in the fields and walks on the trails while she was here for a Getaway vacation. Nika loved it all and they clearly bonded! Those country hikes will continue in her new life, as well as going everywhere else they can, quite a team. We’re so happy to see Nika receive all the focused attention she so deserves.

NIKA: A petite 2 year old Border Collie, Nika is a charmer, very attentive and thoughtful, sorting through everything around her, clearly a thinker! She is super sweet and playful once she knows what’s going on and happy to see everyone she knows. She’s a great toy girl too, happy to entertain herself and play. She will need a savvy guardian who gives her time to digest new situations and not overwhelm her. As smart as she is, with the right guidance, she does beautifully. Nika has lived with Kenai for the past year so likes having a canine friend. As we get to know her, we’ll update her bio as to whether she would be happiest as a solo dog or with a pal. She and Kenai were surrendered to GHF by PA guardians who had to move. She is 30 pounds and is good with cats. She lived outside, trained on the invisible fence.

GYP found a life most Border Collies would dream of - herding sheep on a Farm with loving guardians who adore their BC as one of the family! She’ll be the constant companion to her new FurMom and FurDad, former GHF adopters, with tasks to help move the sheep as she gets more skilled. She proved herself in a herding instinct test and has all the potential to be a real partner at work. As our herding expert, Warren Mick said, ‘she’s done everything perfectly today, couldn’t ask for more from a young dog’! So, off Gyp went to a great new life. Gyp will also gets lots of time to play frisbee and soccer as well as cuddling at night.

GYP: An 8 month old Border Collie, Gyp is a delightful, sweet girl who is really beginning to understand she is a BC! She’s now pals with other GHF rescues and starting to intently herd in chase games. She’s also starting to retrieve and enjoy ball tosses herself. While Gyp was loved in her previous home, her mental connection to a person was not fully explored so we’re watching her now change day by day, within a very short time. Gyp will be placed in an adult home with another BC friend. She’s a lovely, smart girl with tons of potential. She is good with cats, and is about 35 pounds. She was relinquished to GHF due to an inability to meet her needs. She is from the NY area.

Miss MOLLY found guardians who adore this breed, having had two from GHF and now, a third. Their deep understanding of the intelligence of a working dog, gives them great respect for the dogs that join their family. Soon as they met Molly, first thing they both said was, ‘she’s a classic, just a love’. Both were thrilled to have Molly come home with them and we know she’ll love her new life as their 24/7 companion. Molly will have acres and acres to explore plus water for swimming and the rural life she clearly loves. She’ll be joined by another GHF alum (not pictured). We are thrilled for this marvelous girl to find the life she so deserves.

MOLLY: A 10 year old Border Collie, Molly is full of personality, quite a character. She loves her balls and kong, for a good game of fetch, with anyone who will join in! And, she is happy to go at it, again and again, of course. Molly is so sweet, very eager to please and adjusts easily to new situations and people. One reason she’s so flexible is because she’s spent her life chasing geese and worked with many people in many places. As she’s aged, the work became too tough on her so retirement finds her at GHF and we’re thrilled to have her here. Molly has great recall, turns on a dime soon as she hears her name and loves to be part of any action anywhere!. A delightful girl, Molly would love a life where work was play!! She is about 50 pounds and good with cats. She came from a NJ geese chasing company though Molly lived inside the home, not in the kennels.

Beautiful BAILEE landed the greatest life that is tailored to her - with a guardian who loves every activity designed for Border Collies - from herding to frisbee to agility to dock diving to freestyle - he will give her a chance to try it all!  And, she’s joining a group of talented canines who perform in shows all over the country, The Marvelous Mutts. She and another GHF alum, Mucho, will be working at the shows, having a blast with a very busy, busy life that is fun, fun, fun! This car chasing girl will have enough to keep her busy now!  Her new FurDad had been looking for a year to find just the right one to add to his pack and he happily shared his sentiment, “she’s everything I could ask for”!   Bailee is about to be happily loved for exactly who she is - a smart, fired up, focused and fast girl!

BAILEE:  A 7 month old Border Collie, Bailee is a very, very sweet girl and a very intense BC, too. She loves action and is fast, focused and agile.  She has great toy interest and is happiest when she’s busy.  She is good with other dogs but might do best as a solo dog where she can have a very close relationship working with someone without distraction. She’ll be a fabulous hiking partner once she’s bonded and joins other BC’s, loving the action of running, swimming and herding games. She has some interest in cars at this point since her first home was unfenced and the people had no idea what to do with her natural drive. Bailee is very smart and will learn easily in the right hands. Bailee will need a seasoned Border Collie guardian who really understands how to channel this drive productively. Bailee is not right for anyone new to the breed.   She is fine with cats and about 30 pounds.  She came to GHF from a Ny guardian who bought her as a ‘cute puppy"

Miss MIRRA landed a great life with a BC buddy she loved as well as guardians who adore the breed and were smitten by her! This new duo made fast fun of the field at GHF, racing and playing and checking out their new friendship - it was adorable to watch! Her new FurMom and FurDad were vacationing at GHF when they met her and just knew she was the right one for them! We agree and Mirra, now Maggie, is on her way to big fun and a big life!

MIRRA: A 4 month Border Collie, Mirra is a gorgeous liver color, very striking in person. She’s a lovely, sweet girl who seeks out attention from people she knows and really craves a strong bond. Mirra is a gentle soul yet spirited and starting to realize she’s a Border Collie! One clear choice for her is a BC buddy cause she adores other dogs and she’s right at ease having a canine pal. Mirra is becoming quite the ball girl and she’s strengthening her body/eye coordination the more she gets a chance to really run and play! She is smart and athletic, and loves the water. Mirra is likely to be a full sized 40-45 pound adult and now about 25 pounds. She is fine with cats. Mirra was too much for her previous guardian who lived in a tiny apartment.

Lovely LIVY found the right guardians and canine buddies that suit her perfectly - she’s the queen of the trio and her new FurDad’s special girl! Livy will love this since she’s used to running the show with her rescue buddies where she can play and chase and then manage the crowd, a classic BC bossy girl. Her new FurMom and FurDad had a beautiful bc female before from GHF and knew with her passing, they needed another to help the boys feel comfortable. Well, Livy will make them feel just fine since she’s fair but strong, exactly what works best for their trio. We look forward to seeing Livy at the GHF vacation Getaways this spring!

LIVY: A 1 year old Border Collie, Livy is a very intelligent, sensitive girl, observing everything around her. She is thoughtful and needs time to understand new people and her relationship to them, step by step. Super friendly once settled, she tends to be cautious rather than boldly assuming she can be everyone’s best buddy. Livy is very quick to bond once she loves you and is extremely loving and loyal. Quite the cuddler too! She is happiest as the solo dog, being the center of attention though she’s fine hanging with other dogs for outdoor fun. A super sweet, affectionate girl, Livy has that female BC attitude where she’s orderly and able to take command of other dogs so they listen, very typical of the girls. She is super smart and will really thrive with a person who understands the mental nature of a sensitive girl. Livy loves life and loves her toys and special person, too, all equally! Livy is fine with cats and about 35 pounds. She might be able to live unfenced but only with the right savvy guardian. She was relinquished to the Farm from NY.

HUNTER landed the right guardian who would really understand his brilliant mind and also give him the freedom to be the unbridled Border Collie he can be - full of spunk and vigor! Hunter will have a mentor BC, Mishka, to join him in enjoying five acres of vermont countryside to call his own plus two ponds for a quick cooling dip in summers which we know Hunter will love. His new FurDad was hoping to add a younger BC to their lives and had his eye on Hunter so once he met him and saw the nature of this special guy, he felt certain he’d fit perfectly. We agreed! Hunter loved him and headed out to his new life, happily!

HUNTER: A 1 year old Border Collie, Hunter is a super smart, focused, toy oriented dog and he’s maturing into quite a thinker, very strategic in what he does and how he does it! He loves other herding dogs, making up chase games so would enjoy a BC buddy. But he also loves the mental stimulation of learning so he would be best suited to someone who really loves an intellectual connection with their dog, really developing a close bond. Hunter is only going to be placed with a BC savvy guardian who really understands the mental, physical and emotional aspects of this breed. He is a great hiking partner and loves to be wherever his person goes. Hunter is about 40 pounds and will chase cats so best with dog savvy cats. He was relinquished to GHF as his NY guardian realized she could not meet his needs properly

LEXI waited patiently for the timing to find her FurMom and when they did, it was filled with tears and joy and calm…these two kindred spirits reconnected on a very deep level. It was an honor to watch it all unfold, step by step and now Lexi will head home for the life she wanted and the one she clearly is destined for…we are all applauding! She joins 4 other GHF alums and a FurDad who is excited to meet her, too. Long time Friends of the Farm for over a decade, we are so pleased that GHF again gave them the opportunity to fill their hearts so fully with another very special canine partner.

LEXI: A petite 1 1/2 year old Border Collie mix, Lexi is a hoot! She gets the zoomies and races around like a maniac, happy to play with a person or a dog! She loves other dogs and all the fun that goes with having a friend. She’s just landed at GHF so not sure whether she needs a canine pal for her utmost happiness or being with her human matters most. We’ll update her bio as we get to know her better. Lexi is sweet as can be, very affectionate with everyone, quite the cuddler. She is pretty confident in new situations and handling everything well. She was in a PA shelter for 3 months, picked up as a stray, thankfully for us the shelter works with GHF. She is about 30 pounds and is good with cats.

LULU: A petite 3 1/2 month old Border Collie mix, we just couldn’t resist bringing Lulu to GHF..what a charmer! She is super smart and observes everything - you can see her thinking, step by step, before she does anything. This little doll is sweet as they come, loves toys and is curious to see the world around her, not overly bold but not cautious either, just a balanced smart pup. Lulu is good with other dogs and likes the action of toy play so could be so much fun to enjoy. She was in a NYC setting, alone extremely long hours as her former guardians worked all day. They adored her and took great care for her happiness but felt she needed more than they could provide.
Lulu is now 15 pounds, about right for her age.

NOAH & LULU became pals at GHF and now, will have a life together for lots of play and love with their new guardians.  Plus, they’ll be their constant companions since both work from home!  Noah & Lulu are about to have a great country life living on 150 acres with plenty of places to explore and enjoy!  This pair have similar temperaments and clicked well so having them stay together, is terrific! Their new FurMom & FurDad were thrilled to have such a fabulous duo!

NOAH: A 3 month old Border Collie/Aussie, Noah is a gentle sweet soul, truly a love-bug. He wants to be in your arms or on your lap, cuddling. Not too much eye for toys or busy BC activities, this little guy seems to be all about being with his person. He does love the other pups at GHF so would benefit from a canine pal but foremost, someone to call his own. He is very observant and thoughtful, an old soul type of pup, not a bold gotta do it all guy. He’s happy to sort out what’s going on and then decide what he wants to do with it all! Noah is a delight. He is fine with cats and 13 pounds. He and his brother were relinquished to GHF by a guardian who felt he could not meet their needs.

This little powerhouse, Joy, has finally found exactly what she needs and we are thrilled!! Since the day Joy first herded sheep, we knew it was her destiny-So much talent- so this sweet, but serious little worker, will now be in a bc paradise!!! She is joining two ghf alums who have the greatest life complete with their own sheep for herding and beach life in the winter, hanging with their furmom 24/7- she will love it!

JOY: A 4 month old Border Collie, Joy is a focused girl, even at a young age. She really pays attention to everything around her and step by step, decides what she wants to do. She has great eye/body coordination and could have good potential for sports. She loves toys and loves people. She is strategic in her interactions with adult dogs, sorting out who they are, what toy they have and how she can get it, quite a clever pup. Joy is affectionate and sweet, loving attention and cuddling but also needs something to capture her mind. She is a thinker, not overly bold but curious and actively engaged with everything around her. She is about 15 pounds, normal size for her age.

Miss MILEY found someone who would really understand how her mind works and also loves the little dog attitude about life! She has another mini-aussie, Lexie, who is now Miley’s best bud: "From the moment they wake up to the moment they fall asleep they are either playing with each other or next to one another with their toys” And, of course Miley jumped right into the pool and swam like a fish, happily all the cool stuff in her new life. "Miley is so sweet and such a great dog!! We love her!!"

MILEY: A tiny 1 yr old Aussie/Cattle dog mix, this girl is full of spunk and attitude and ready to go! A little spitfire, she loves toys and tugging and learning so could be a fun sport dog. She’s not overly driven but just enough to enjoy challenges, then after some fun, she loves to rest next to you. Very people oriented, she would love someone who wanted that special little dog to take everywhere. Miley is an assertive female so best with male dogs or dogs used to little dogs who think they are big! or she could enjoy life as a solo dog. She is about 20 pounds and not good with cats. Though GHF is devoted to Border Collies in need, we just couldn’t pass up this gorgeous girl who needed to get out of the shelter in PA. Fortunately, the shelter works with GHF and asked for help.

BENNY landed a new life right from his foster home, staying there! He just fit the gang perfectly and once pup Beck joined the group, the two of them were right in sync so they became quite the pair. Sweet Benny is learning about life, step by step, so he can trust that people are good and love him dearly yet that’s a lifetime of understanding. We know  he’s now in great hands to experience the life he so richly deserves, a real forever home!

BENNY: A 2 1/2 year old Border Collie, Benny is sweet and affectionate and just loves to cuddle up to you when hanging in the house. He's also a typical active BC that will play with any kind of ball - retrieving tennis balls and jolly balls. He's quite fast with his long legs and athletic body. Benny loves to race, chase and wrestle with other dogs that like to play. He's in a foster home learning to overcome his fears when meeting strangers so he'll do best with another confident Border Collie to be his mentor. He will only be placed into a home with an experienced person that understands how to work with fear issues. Benny is doing well in a more rural setting vs the more populated suburban setting he was in. He's finally beginning to relax and is starting to meet new people slowly, using positive reinforcement, without overwhelming him. Benny came from a shelter in NH that reached out to GHF for help. Ben and Glen were given up because of financial difficulties. They are being rehomed separately. Benny is about 40 pounds and good with cats.

STRETCH is going to be adored forever for exactly who he is - a super sweet gentle soul! His new FurMom had a GHF alum, Raleigh, so similar in nature that soon as she heard about Stretch, she knew she wanted to meet him. Within moments, her heart was happy again, having such a delightful spirit back in the house. He joins another GHF alum, senior Shep who thinks he’s great, too. Sweet Stretch even has a new name - Shiraz!

STRETCH: A 3 year old Border Collie with ABCA papers, Stretch is a gentle dog who aims to please and doesn’t want to be wrong. He responds beautifully to kindness and comes to life to run and play. His soft side comes out when he’s asked to do things so he tends to worry and needs reassurance. Stretch is smart and classic in his focus watching everything around him. He has a great nature and with time, will let go of his worries. Stretch was originally involved in sheep herding where often the demands to work cause stress in a dog and then they give up feeling they can't succeed. Pressure on a Border Collie can backfire and in this case, it seems that’s what happened. He was then put into a geese chasing situation and couldn’t handle that situation either so Stretch is now on his way to being a great companion to someone special. We’re very happy to help him on his new journey and appreciate that he was surrendered to GHF to do this, for him. He is great with other dogs and everyone he meets. Stretch is about 45 pounds and best with dog savvy cats. He is a bit camera shy, too.
