Sweet RION found a new life with former GHF adopters who were ready to add a youngster to their pack and eager to meet him. He quickly won their hearts with his kindness and desire for affection…giving and getting! So, Rion is off to be the companion to his new FurMom when she goes to work each day plus be the play buddy to his new canine pals! His new guardians have the skills to help him further lessen his OCD tendencies and get focused on more BC activities to use his mind! We’re just thrilled for Rion!

RION: A 1 1/2 year old Border Collie, Rion is a hoot. He loves his toys, tossing them in the air, then getting the zoomies in high speed circles as he plays a version of ‘keep-away’…he is hilarious. Rion is also a sweetheart, happy to be up in your lap and right in your face for non-stop kisses. He is highly enthusiastic saying hello to people with a full leap almost into your arms!Rion really loves to be with other dogs so we want him to have a BC buddy in his new home. He does well with a group of dogs, too, so could join a pack easily.  He’s a young boy with lots of energy that is now being channeled productively.  He is becoming more focused and attentive, eager to please.  His previously chaotic lifestyle of living with 9 kids, from 5 months to age 20, is fading away and a more balanced BC is emerging.  Rion is doing really well but will need continued help on the OCD behaviors. He will only be placed in a very BC savvy home. He is fine with cats and about 40 pounds.

We are so excited to announce RHYN’s adoption! He found a loving guardian who just adored him the minute she met him and knew he would make her chuckle for many years to come. This good natured, funny boy is one bundle of love and will now share that with her as well as a group of dog lovers she joins for regular hikes in Vermont. He’ll have a couch for cuddling and plenty of canine pals to enjoy, too. He pretty much got the perfect life where he’s the king and gets all the attention plus plenty to do!!!!

RHYN: A 6 year old Border Collie, Rhyn has blossomed since his arrival and is strong and ready for a new life! We are so incredibly happy to see this boy fully recovered and now ready for action! He loves to check out everything going on at the Farm and is so curious to say hello to everyone, a super friendly boy. He is also fine with other dogs though we feel happiest as the solo dog where he can get all the attention being the love-bug he is! Rhyn would enjoy being someone’s special friend, a real companion to go everywhere. He’s easy going and not as intense as other BC’s so slides into new situations well. He does have some interest in traffic so needs to be off the main road or that stimulation will create more of an obsession which is just slight now. He is not good with cats and about 55 pounds. Now that he’s back to himself, we’re going to provide more exercise for him to trim up a bit. Soon as his hair grows back fully, we’ll have some new pictures to show off his handsome self!!

Rhyn came to GHF 4/28 through an unfortunate event in a Virginia home where the other dog attacked him under the porch, inflicting bad wounds. The previous guardian had no funds to handle his needs so he was surrendered. We are deeply appreciative of all the support for his medical care which has allowed us to see this transformation happily unfold. The extraordinary costs were covered by kind, loving people who stepped up for this very wonderful Border Collie.

JERSIE has been in rescue for 2 years, in a ‘temporary’ foster home who reached the official conclusion that sending her anywhere else wouldn’t be right, so little Jersie is in her forever home. She started not far from the foster Mom’s home on a chain at 6 months old living outside with a dog house. That sad start has completely changed in a new life filled with love and attention and patient understanding. Thanks to her history, Jersie has worries with new people so needed lots of time to learn that people are safe. She’s made great strides but any big change could cause regression so the world she’s come to understand now is where she’ll stay. We are deeply appreciate of Cindy Tier and her family’s willingness to help Jersie experience a life she clearly deserves.

JERSIE: A very petite 2 year old Border Collie, Jersie is a loving girl who adores her person and also loves other dogs, truly joining multiple dogs easily for racing and chasing games! She’s adorable to watch as she happily joins in. Jersie will need another canine friend as a ‘mentor dog’ to help her when meeting strangers as she gets nervous. She barks at people and needs reassurance from the person that is hers, so she can accept someone new. Her fears are substantial enough that she will need management in any new home. She’s been learning, step by step, how to handle the real world, in a foster home and has flourished with attention, guidance and love. Jersie will need a patient savvy adopter who can continue teaching her to relax and properly enjoy meeting new people. A simpler life with her own yard, people she knows and dog pals, would be ideal. Jersie was chained outside by someone breeding Border Collies so had a more limited experience of meeting people. She is about 30 pounds and not yet tested on cats. She is being fostered in Pa and can be seen there or at GHF.

Sweet ANNEY found a new life with one of the GHF team, joining an alum who adores his FurMom, too! Now Anney will have two BC pals and a guardian devoted to her every need and happiness. Anney absolutely loves her new life and fits like she’s been there all her life. We’ll get to see her all the time, too!

ANNEY: A 2 year old Border Collie mix, Anney is a lovely, gentle girl who blossoms with a person to call her own. Anney is extremely sweet and needs a quieter home since her nature has been timid since a pup. Her confidence is boosted by the relationship and bond of being a companion to someone. She also gains direction from another dog, having lived with three previously, one being her sister who she followed. We want her to have another canine friend since it helps her feel more secure but more importantly, Anney really wants to be have a close human relationship again. She found her way to GHF once her person died and a neighbor stepped in to insure her safety.

Pup, JJ, quickly drew attention from adopters but one had been patiently waiting for many weeks for just the right dog. Soon as she saw JJ, she came to meet him, feeling he could fit exactly with her beloved BC. JJ will be having a blast learning agility & frisbee, going on lots of hikes and playing with other BC pals he’s soon to meet. The perfect paradise for this little fireball plus he’ll have his new FurMom 24/7 and five acres to call his own! He now lives in NY.

JJ: A 3 month old Border Collie, JJ is all boldness - he is confident, curious and focused already at this age - clearly ready to DO something! He’ll need a savvy guardian since he’s a ‘take no prisoners’ kind of pup, happy to barge in and grab a toy he wants from another dog’s mouth. He is learning that adult BC’s don’t always agree that ‘everything is JJ’s’ so he’s catching on quickly. Wicked smart, he will be a fabulous pup to train for whatever activities a new guardian wants to undertake but it better be an engaging life, cause JJ will make it that way if he’s bored! He is super sweet, friendly and good natured but a REAL BC! He is about 15 pounds and fine with cats.

GIDEON found a loving couple with a canine pal that not only looks a bit like him, is just as sweet as he is and they are a great pair! Gideon will offer some confidence to Ziggy who is a bit shy and together, they can chase and race and join in fun times together as best buds. His new guardians are devoted to the happiness of their fur friends and just loved everything about Gideon! He now lives in PA.

GIDEON: An 8 month old Border Collie mix, Gideon is quite the charmer, a happy, good-natured, say hello to everyone kind of guy, super cute! He’s easy going and playful, loving other dogs that want to race and chase but he also loves hugs and cuddles just as much, a great combination. Gideon has lots of obedience skills already, is super eager to please and is very food oriented so would be fun to teach new activities. We’d like him to have a canine pal since the play is such a rewarding outlet for Gideon. He is about 35 pounds and best with dog savvy cats since he will chase. His previous NJ guardian had a change in work and knew leaving him home 10-12 hours a day was not ideal so surrendered him to GHF.

Little JUDE is going to have a big Border Collie life with two new pals, one a GHF alum. We’re really happy for this shy little guy to have two mentor buddies, one who will wrestle and chase and play with him and the other who can share the confidence of being a well-loved, happy BC - Jude needed both! He’ll also have 30 acres to enjoy for hikes and swims plus visit the vacation Getaway at GHF so we’ll get to watch this little guy grow into all his potential. We’re just thrilled for him. He now lives in PA.

JUDE: A 4 month old Border Collie, Jude is a handsome sweet guy who is pretty timid about everything new but does well following a lead dog. He absolutely loves playing with young BC’s and is very good understanding adult BC’s too, used to being with both. Jude needs lots of reassurance and will need a very patient, skilled BC savvy guardian to help him blossom fully, not rushing him to be bolder than he can be. He is not yet secure with toys unless the other young dogs join in the action with him and then, he’s happy as can be. He is about 20 pounds and fine with cats. Jude’s mother, Shawnee, is also in rescue, surrendered to GHF because the breeder wanted to downsize their pack.

Little spitfire JILL found just the right guardian who appreciates her ‘old soul’ nature along with her sassy girl bossiness..exactly what she was looking to add to her pack. Jill joins two male BC’s who gave free rein to Jill to show them her ‘big girl attitude’ but also befriended her with some fun BC herding moves, too. This trio was adorable to watch unfold as they discovered who was who and how things would roll. Jill’s new FurMom chuckled to see this girl in action and plans to introduce her to agility as well as any other sport that suits her interest. Jill hit the jackpot with someone who truly understands the mind of the breed and how to stimulate their happiness with work and fun! We are so thrilled for this very special pup to find a very special person. We’re expecting to hear great stories for all the cool stuff they do together!! She now lives in Delaware.

JILL: A petite 4 month old Border Collie, Jill is an amazing pup, absolutely brilliant, confident and exuberant. She is a classic BC with everything wired right. She listens intently to what you are saying connecting to whatever you ask of her and learns extremely fast - she loves mental challenges! She’s never needed a crate so her puppy room is filled with toys she cherishes, never destructive, just happy to entertain herself or engage with one of the young BC’s. Jill understands the pattern of her life right now, even putting herself to bed when it’s the end of the day. She does have her own mind, too, and will quickly catch on to whatever is going on around her, sorting out her role in everything. She is currently living with a pack of adult BC’s and doing beautifully, navigating through the group. She loves playing with the young BC’s and will race, chase and make up herding games as long as they will enjoy her puppy antics. Jill is such an agile girl, so athletic, it’s clear she could excel at agility. She loves to fly through the fields with the pack and would be a great hiking friend, too. Soon as she hears the whistle, she returns instantly, happy to head home for whatever is next. Super friendly and loving, Jill bonds quickly. We want to find a seasoned BC guardian who wants to continue developing her potential with a stimulating life. Jill is a strong female pup so would do best with a male BC since she’s surely going to be the boss. She is about 20 pounds and good with cats.

Sweet, good-natured JONAH arrived just in time as former GHF adopters wrote looking for a good match for GHF alum, Rubie, age 12. They wanted to have two BC’s again but wanted to be sure the fit was just right so when they saw the gentle nature of Jonah, it was clear he would be a great pal. And, Rubie could help Jonah find his way in his new life, too. Jonah tugged at their big hearts, just like Rubie had, making him the clear boy to join their lives. We are so happy for this pairing and know Jonah’s new FurMom and FurDad will give him a lifetime of happiness and love. He now lives in Ct.

JONAH: A 6 year old Border Collie, Jonah is a delightful, happy go-lucky doll! He is so incredibly sweet and loves everyone and now, for the first time, loving toys! Jonah was a geese chasing dog who lost his hearing so came to rescue. Funny thing he never had access to an abundance of toys, but clearly this boy is making up for lost time!! Jonah is so good spirited and loves attention, eager to give his heart to someone special. He is good with other Border Collies and could enjoy a pal to act as his guide. He is about 45 pounds and best with dog savvy cats.

Sweet, wonderful ASIA found a loving home with former GHF adopters who came back for their third rescue from the Farm. They were drawn to Asia after watching her story and felt a strong connection to this special girl.. Once they spent time getting to know her and watching this lovely girl in action, they felt she was exactly the right fit for their family and we whole-heartedly agreed. Asia will join them in all the family fun, including beach time at the Cape in the summers as well as even trying flyball with her FurMom who loves dog sports. Asia’s loving nature easily led the kids to want her with them side-by-side - ‘we want Asia’! Sixteen years of knowing these wonderful adopters, we are secure in knowing that her new home in Massachusetts will be filled with a lifetime of love and commitment to whatever care she needs which is exactly what Asia deserves. They were her Angel while at GHF and now will be her angel in her life ahead!!!!

ASIA: A 7 year old Border Collie mix, Asia is one outgoing, friendly, ready to go girl, happy to jump into anything and everything going on around her! She is also one of the sweetest, most loving heart dogs we’ve ever had in rescue. We are sure the person that finally becomes Asia’s forever guardian will be the luckiest person alive. Everyone who meets Asia agrees that she is ALL love. She could really be a fabulous therapy dog! She also loves to play and chase and race with other canine pals and easily makes friends with those she meets. She is a great off-leash hiking pal, too with a zest for swimming! Her joyful enthusiasm is fabulous to experience!

Asia has had quite the story in rescue, arriving at merely 25 pounds due to EPI, a pancreatic enzyme deficiency. Left untreated, she was wasting away to nothing, literally starving to death. A simple enzyme powder brought her fully back to life and she is now 36 pounds, on her way to gaining a bit more, likely 40- 45 pounds is her normal weight. We are thrilled that GHF could give this girl another chance at good health and a happy life. Asia is good with cats. So, Asia is now ready to find her new life! A couple things to know about management of her health condition. She must be on a special food that is low in fat so easily digestible: SOLID GOLD: Holistique Blendz with Ocean Fish Meal (Not Grain Free) Protein -- 18%, Fat -- 6%, Fiber—4% and VIOKASE ENZYME POWDER on her food with each meal. This powder pre-digests the food so she can absorb the nutrition properly. There are other brands of enzyme powder but Viokase works the best for her. The cost for the powder is $200 a month so any adopter interested in Asia, needs to budget accordingly

Little CHASE landed a big life with three other GHF alums when he captured his FurMom’s heart! Something quite familiar tugged at her with an inner voice that meant she had to see him when she and her son came on a Getaway vacation. Soon as they met and he cuddled with her in that special sweet way he does, she knew he was going home with them! Chase will be enjoying tons of fun with his new canine pals and even more importantly, have the deepest love possible, too. He now lives in Ct.

CHASE: A petite 9 month old Border Collie mix, Chase is a doll. He’s super sweet, gentle and affectionate. A bit sensitive, he does well with a bit of time to make sense of new situations then comes to life racing around with his toys. He is good with other dogs and especially likes a softer pal who doesn’t overwhelm him. He is very friendly and very good natured. Chase is about 40 pounds and good with cats. He was too much for his PA guardians who had a german shepherd pup, kids and another baby on the way so he was relinquished to GHF.

KINGSTON landed a great home with a former GHF alum who loves to play, chase and wrestle just like he does - the ride home was the start of a big time friendship - emails are already coming about these two being best buds! He’ll have a wonderful property to enjoy with guardians who adore their dogs and love adding another fun BC to their lives. He’ll get lots of swimming in, too, which he absolutely loves!

KINGSTON: A 9 month old BC (possibly mix), Kingston is a player - he loves to wrestle, chase and race with all the dogs - instantly everyone’s pal! He would be thrilled to have a canine friend who plays as much as he does. He is a sweet guy, smart about everything going on around him and figuring out what he thinks he wants to do. A super active boy, he loves to play a good ball game. He also loves attention, a friendly guy who is sure life is all about having fun! Very good natured, Kingston really needs a canine pal and someone who enjoys his joyful nature. He is 45 pounds and best with dog savvy cats. He lived with elderly guardians who felt he was just too much for them.

JULEE found a guardian who loves dog activities from rally to agility to whatever fun thing suits her dogs to stimulate their mind and happiness which is exactly what Julee will love! She gets to hike and play and enjoy everything while being cherished as a real family member. We are so happy to see this wonderful girl find a place to call her own, forever. She now lives in PA.

JULEE: A petite 2 year old Border Collie mix, Julee is quite an athlete - she is fast, agile and focused and easily comes off the ground, all four feet, clearly a good frisbee candidate! She loves toys and will happily play with anything at any moment, even tossing them for her own enjoyment. She is high energy and very eager to please, offering sits and downs and anything she can think of to earn a treat. Clearly a very smart girl, she would do well with an active, engaged home and enjoy sports like agility. Julee is absolutely delightful, fun and friendly and eager to be in the middle of everything with everyone! She is about 35 pounds and is OK with dog savvy cats and Julee loves to swim. She has great recall on trails and would be a fabulous hiking partner.

Sweet DERBIE now again HERBIE, has landed in a loving home with former GHF adopters now on their fourth beloved BC from the Farm. They adore the breed and are happy to share their hearts and home with the mature dogs who are often overlooked. Soon as they saw the love Herbie gave to them and everyone he meets, they knew he was exactly the sweetheart they wanted in their lives. They came to vacation for a few days and Herbie joined in the fun of trail walks, meeting other Getaway campers and had his first RV experience, too! He happily headed off as if he had lived with them all his life!

DERBIE: A 9 year old Border Collie, Derbie (formerly Herbie) is a smart boy, quite observant about all that’s going on around him in this new situation at the Farm. He’s done really well sorting out such a big change and is now starting to blossom, showing some of his herding drive and more outgoing nature. He is a very thoughtful Border Collie and will do best with a guardian who understands his intelligent nature. He is a sweet guy who loves attention and also enjoys entertaining himself with his toys. Derbie lived with 4 children since a pup (now 3 are teenagers) but had a nip of a neighbor child so found himself in need of a new home. He was surrendered to GHF from his NJ guardians.

JAC now ZAC found a new life with former GHF adopters who not only adore the breed, they are completely committed to whatever a dog needs in order to do well. Jac will surely have their utmost support and loving care as he unfolds even further, a long, long way from being tied out with no food or water, literally left on his own. We are so pleased that he found a full life with BC buddies, Zoe and alum, Cosbie, plus lots of hiking and even agility but most importantly, true love. He now lives in PA.

JAC: A petite 1 yr old Border Collie with ABCA papers, Jac is a great boy, really good natured. He has a ton of energy to race and chase and loves to retrieve, happily playing with anyone who will toss a ball his way. He also loves other Border Collies and would be happiest with another BC pal to make up herding games. A super friendly boy, he’s also curious, smart and good natured, quite the cuddle bug. Jac is a very focused BC and loves intense ball play so is best suited to living with other Border Collies who think the same way. A PA dog lover stepped in to get him out of a bad situation where he was being tied outside, no shelter, food or water. Clearly, she did a great thing for this lucky boy who will now have the life he so deserves! He is about 35 pounds and not good with cats and Jac loves to swim.

Sweet SHINE found a wonderful life with loving guardians who have a great life to offer her with close to 300 acres for tons of fun and exploration! She will be with her new FurDad pretty much 24/7, hiking, playing and being his beloved friend! She won their hearts with her sweet nature and will jump into a real BC life finally! We are so happy for her!

SHINE: A 2 year old Border Collie, Shine is a super sweet girl, very friendly and eager to bond with people. She loves being with you side by side and also loves a good toy game with lots of action! She is energetic like any young BC and really blossoms with someone who understands just how smart she is and what she needs to be happy. Shine is a bit shy with other dogs so could be a solo dog or perhaps mix with a submissive male. She is very good natured but best in an adult home where someone can focus on her needs. She is about 35 pounds, good with cats and has a ‘summer clip’ so will normally have a full rough coat. Shine lived in one home since a pup but no longer fit the guardian's lifestyle so was surrendered to GHF.

Special thanks to Kiersten Anderson who kindly transported Shine to the Farm.

Little Indiana LEA landed a new life today, after two years in rescue!! Sorry our camera didn’t quite catch this very special moment but we’re hoping for a better picture soon. We are beyond thrilled to share this good news so even a less than perfect picture won’t get in the way of this moment where Lea takes the step into the new world. This brave little BC gained her confidence from her first Foster Mom, Rosie Sutherland and then here at GHF, with our Connor House Caretaker, Paige, who worked diligently to give her the tools she needed. Now saying hello to strangers is easier; playing with toys is fun; and having confident curiosity to explore a safe, loving world with new trust is all hers! HUGE DAY FOR LEA!!!!! Our former GHF adopter spotted her face and felt she would be an ideal girl to add to her life. With all the patience and understanding to continue Lea’s growth, we agree that she’s in very good, loving hands! Lea now lives in Ct and has a canine mentor pal, Copper who we met 13 years ago when he was a youngster!

LEA: A petite 3 yr old Border Collie, Lea is gorgeous. She is so smart and has grown by leaps and bounds. She now plays with toys and really enjoys a good cuddle by your side in bed or on the couch. Lea now goes up to new people for treats and happily investigates everything around her.  She’s made great strides to becoming a happier dog and truly wants a person to call her own.  She is very good with other dogs and loves to herd them though inside, does best with one other BC, usually male, so she doesn’t feel the need to control a big gang of dogs inside.  A confident, mentor dog would be ideal for her continued growth. Lea has a lovely, gentle nature and is really blossoming, quickly enjoying her new life. She is about 30 pounds and is good with cats. Lea, like her other friends from a breeder in Indiana, lived a horrible life with no appropriate care, confined in a small indoor area.  She will need a smaller life with her own yard, dog friend and patient, caring guardians.

This fabulous pair, CARSON & ZOEY, found an ideal home that would understand their Border Collie minds and keep them busy and happy but most importantly, adore them for just who they are! Former GHF adopters from 15 years ago, they had a great pair then and were so excited to return and offer their home and hearts to another wonderful duo - they loved these two instantly!! So, off to NJ, they all headed for great fun, BC style!

CARSON, age 4 & ZOEY, age 5, are clearly best buddies. Their relationship is terrific with balanced toy play and racing, chasing games they both clearly love! While they could be adopted separately, we want for them to find a home together. They’d be great for off leash hikes and really enjoy an active life, including swimming! They make a great pair since they nicely complement each other - one more easy going and one more active, a really nice blend. Carson & Zoey are both super friendly, outgoing and love everyone, truly a friend to all! Carson will happily drape himself over your lap for belly rubs while Zoey finds another ball for a quick toss. She is affectionate too but her “work” ethic is all BC! Both settle well inside and enjoy entertaining each other, making up toy games. He is about 50 pounds, carrying a bit of extra weight since they were free fed. He’s going to trim up easily. She is about 40 pounds and both are good with cats. This duo has another pal, Bentley, all given up due to a separation but he’s extremely high energy so would benefit from more focused concentration on his needs.

Sweet MAGG found a new life with guardians who love the breed and came just to meet her. Within very short order, they felt she was exactly what they were hoping to add to their life - a smart, people oriented, gorgeous girl - they spent the night at GHF and off she went to a new life in Massachusetts! Magg will enjoy beach walks at her new seaside home plus lots of hikes in the woods, a great combo for this wonderful girl. We’re very happy for Magg to have a stimulating new life, filled with love.

MAGG: An 8 year old Border Collie, Magg is a very thoughtful girl, amazing to watch as she understands the world around her, making sense of everything step by step. She is so incredibly smart and tuned into having a human relationship, she literally listens all the time, eager to please with her every move. Magg lived on a farm and though she didn’t do any herding work, she understands the bond between a human and dog as she was the beloved companion there and took her role seriously. Magg loves attention and a good head scratch, nudging your hand for more, but she’d be most thrilled to accompany her person on hikes or wherever they go, side by side! Magg is flourishing at GHF, returning to great health with good nutrition and loving care, looking gorgeous now and has a spunk back in her step. Magg will be happiest in an adult home and a more rural setting. She is about 40 pounds and not good with cats. Magg lived with a horrible flea allergy so lost a great deal of hair on her back which is slowly growing back. Due to home changes, Magg and her son, Patch, were both relinquished to GHF.

.

Little AKIRA has a wonderful new life with a BC buddy who is as gentle as she is and a family who understands these intelligent, sensitive Border Collies. They will happily give her time to find her grounding, gain confidence and enjoy a loving home with plenty to do! They were over the moon that she could join their family and we know her life will be a great one! She’s got it all - a mentor pal and lots and lots of love! She now lives in CT.

AKIRA: A soft girl who needs some reassurance, she loves to be curled under your feet or by your side.  She will need a canine pal to help her blossom further.  At 8 pounds, she’s the tiniest of the group

One thing we know at GHF is that dogs and people find each other…if they are meant to be together, nothing stands in the way of that reunion and that is the case with little Maisie. She came with 4 other siblings, each sweeter than the other but this little one had a certain quality, we like to call a ‘buddha dog’, ‘an old soul’, so we waited to see who would be coming for her. As she was being seen in an adoption, one of our GHF Caretakers realized that she felt an incredible sadness that she might leave, a ‘pit in her stomach’ over the idea that Maisie could be gone and THEN, it became clear that THESE TWO were that was meant to be! Their ‘reunion’ was clearly a deep one of heartfelt connection. Our Caretakers meet and help hundreds of dogs and while all are adorable, it’s undeniable when one grabs you by the heart and soul…and so it is with Maisie. She is now home, forever, right where she landed and where she is supposed to be..with her new GHF FurMom. We are deeply thrilled for both.

MAISIE: The spitfire of the group, she is clearly smart as a whip. This little leader is already separating herself from the other pups, in charge of what she wants - her toys - she happily takes them off by herself to load up a stash of her favorites.  About 9 pounds, she is very body aware and going to be fun to engage in canine activities

Little RORY found a loving family who were so excited to come for him, ready to add a canine pal to their lives! He’ll have plenty to do since they are active, outdoor people who plan to introduce him to lots of Vermont country living. He’ll clearly be adored with kids to call his own and plenty to do!

RORY:An outgoing, curious little guy, he likes to explore and also really enjoys toys. He’ll join in a tug game with his littermates, showing lots of focus!  About 9 pounds, he’s very body aware and moves beautifully for his age.

Little CAMDEN found a new life with GHF alum, Furrari! adopted as a puppy a few years ago and now she gets to show him the ropes! He has another BC buddy at home, too, and tons of people who are excited to say hello to this special pup.  His new FurMom & FurDad were thrilled to have him join their lives. He now lives in Maryland, with them 24/7 as a beloved family member

CAMDEN:A sweet outgoing little guy, he loves to explore and is the first to check everything out! A big player, he romps with his littermates joyfully. About 10 pounds, he is quite a handsome boy.

TUCK landed a great life with former adopters and GHF alum, Rush, so Tuck joins him for 6 acres to play on and explore, even two ponds for lots of swimming but one more thing to do - agility! His new FurMom’s daughter came to GHF years ago at age 12 and found she loved the sport and this time, wanted a lean, fast, young BC to go the next step. With Rush and Tuck meeting today at GHF, it was clear this new pup was meant to go home with them! We’re really excited for this wonderful boy and his new ‘Mom’ and know he’ll love sleeping in her room tonight, too!

TUCK: A 7 month old Border Collie, Tuck is a very cool guy with a lot of BC focus really starting to unfold, herding other dogs or going for his toys. He’s going to be the ‘real deal’ with some drive and will be a joy to engage and shape his behaviors. Tuck is also super sweet and loves attention and will happily cuddle next to his person with quite the adoring face, a real love-bug. Tuck aims to please and will do great with a seasoned BC person who understands how to develop his natural talent. He is a bit reserved at first and does well with reassurance and guidance, eager to learn. Tuck is about 35 pounds and not yet tested on cats. He was in a home where he was just not a fit for the person who could not meet his needs.

Wonderful BENTLEY found his new life with a loving family who adores the breed and loves the more intense dogs, exactly what Bentley needed! He has exactly the focus and drive they love to play non-stop, race, chase and join them as a full family member hiking, swimming and having fun! We are so excited for this fabulous boy to have the right home which is now his, forever! He now lives in NJ. He happily hopped into their car, smiling as big as they all were!

BENTLEY: A 5 year old Border Collie, Bentley is an amazing athlete - he is ALL BC and ALL drive - really super fast chasing a ball and eager to play endlessly! Bentley is one of the smartest dogs to ever land at GHF - like living with a human in fur - he knows everything you ask of him verbally as you say it, ready to connect with his person instantly. A wickedly smart boy, he is incredibly social with everyone he meets, a great ambassador for the breed. He can go off leash on hikes and stick right with you or go for car rides, happy to go wherever you go. He’s quite affectionate too, a big time cuddler. Bentley needs a savvy person who understands the mental and physical nature of this boy as well as his emotional needs. He lived with Carson & Zoey all his life, relinquished to GHF due to a separation. He was a beloved family member of his male guardian who sadly could no longer care for any of the dogs. Bentley is 50 pounds, carrying some extra weight but that will knock off easily. He is good with dog savvy cats and could be happy as a solo dog or with others.

PATCH went into foster care to give him a chance to experience a very different life from his past. A sensitive guy, he needed some time to adjust to having two vibrant BC pals, one a GHF alum. His new FurMom was drawn to Patch from the minute she saw his picture, wanting to provide a loving home to this more shy, calmer boy. It’s taken a bit of time to be sure and now, happily, it’s clear Patch IS home! He’ll have plenty of outside walks and frisbee games, which he loves, but even more importantly, he’ll have time to experience a bigger life, step by step, with a caring patient guardian. We are all thrilled for this sweet guy!

PATCH: A 6 year old Border Collie, Patch is a gentle, shy boy, unsure about new settings and new people so will need a patient guardian to help him blossom and trust. He is coming out of his shell at GHF and soliciting attention from people, very sweet and very gentle. He will do best in a quieter home without a lot of social activity or chaos. He’s a super sweet boy and will likely always be a bit calm and withdrawn though very loving once he knows you. Patch is not a toy dog, he’s more of a companion, happy to be by your side as you become his person and make him feel safe. Patch lived with other farm animals- chickens, pigs, goats and barn cats - and was fine with all of them but is not good with cats in the house. He is about 45 pounds. Patch and his mother, Magg, were surrendered to GHF due to lifestyle changes with the former NY guardian.

Lovely LASS came to GHF on a Saturday just has former adopters were coming to find their 2nd beloved canine friend. We’ve known Lass for awhile before her arrival and of course known them for 4 adoptions and lots of volunteer time, over many years, so something just felt right to show her soon as she hopped out of the car. And, so right it was!! - Lass now has a new life with two loving guardians who totally cherish their dogs as family members. Lass joins Bob, a new rescue, to help him gain confidence and enjoy packing up with a happy, good natured, confident girl! We’re thrilled for all involved. She hopped into their van, knowing her fate was right on track.

The story of BEAU finding his forever home has some twists and turns but now he’s landed right where he was supposed to be all along. Beau used to be named Keane when first at the Farm and his three months in his adoptive home renamed him Beau and while they had so hoped he was theirs, he had trouble in the setting handling strangers so came back. Ironically, his new FurMom was the one who originally picked him up from his foster home to bring him to GHF. It was then that she said she would love to adopt him but with an ailing dog, could not. She was so drawn to him and so disappointed. Beau landed back here on a Monday am she was volunteering at the Farm and she could not believe her good fortune. She immediately asked her husband to bring the pack over and it was clearly a great fit for all! He joins two GHF alums, Andi and Trip, plus pal Stanley, for a big life of country living. Beau will be not far from the Farm on over 50 acres and hang with his FurDad most of the day. We’re thrilled to see how this unfolded and know that their hearts are joined

BEAU: A 2 year old Border Collie, Beau is as sweet and friendly as he is gorgeous! He is very outgoing, and exuberant, ready to say hello to anyone new. Since he’s led a somewhat sheltered life, he can get worried with some strangers, so will need a savvy guardian to be sure his introductions build his confidence. He is food oriented, eager to learn and bonds very fast to his person. A thoughtful Border Collie, he is sensitive if he feels he’s done something wrong so needs positive encouragement in all his training. Beau is a big time toy boy and loves anything that squeaks or can be thrown his way. He is also happy to entertain himself playing or racing around with other Border Collies. He’s great at making up chase games and would love an outgoing, confident BC friend as his mentor. He previously spent a great deal of time alone, crated in the basement for many hours cause his guardian had allergies. Fortunately, a dog lover stepped in to gain his freedom and he’s now truly enjoying racing around. Beau is about 40 pounds and good with cats.

RUDY found the perfect life for him - a BC buddy and loving guardians who adore the breed plus two houses, one in the suburbs and one in the country with 45 acres to call his own! Rudy will love plenty of hiking trips as well as lots of ball play cause his new FurMom and FurDad design their lives around their dogs. They came to vacation at the GHF Getaway and had a desire to add another dog since they were used to having two. A meeting with Rudy and their Sadie, led them to return quickly to meet him again and take him home! Rudy now lives in PA with lots of time in the Adirondacks too!

RUDY: A 7 month old Border Collie, Rudy is changing so fast, learning all about being a herding dog, that he’s amazing to watch! He’s become super fast, agile and eager to move with focus. He’s gaining more intensity and clearly needs a BC pal to keep up with his energetic needs. He is also incredibly loving and sweet, and quite the character. Full of personality, he is best for BC savvy guardians who understand the breed. Rudy loves toys, other dogs and pretty much anything and everything he’s exposed to - like a sponge, he is one happy boy! He was living in a totally inappropriate situation with no room for exercise or anyone to understand him. He is fine with cats and about 30 pounds.

AIDAN joined a canine pal we know from vacationing at GHF, just a perfect pairing. His new guardians wanted an easy going fellow to add to their lives and soon as they spent time with Aidan, it was love! Now named MILO, he is enjoying play with his canine buddy as well as lots of time with his new FurMom & FurDad who couldn’t be happier. He lives in Ct

AIDAN: A 6 month old Border Collie mix, Aidan is a super friendly, good natured, outgoing boy. He truly loves to join in the action and will easily make friends with everyone! He also accepts other dogs beautifully and would love having a canine pal for chase games. Aidan is energetic but not as intense as a purebred so will easily be a great companion for an active person. He’s smart as a whip and loves to learn, very eager to please. He is about 30 pounds and good with cats. He was a stray who landed in a NY shelter that reached out to GHF for help. ut 35 pounds and good with cats.

BINDI: A very petite 1 1/2 year old BC/Aussie mix, Bindi is a live wire, having a blast running around so happy to be out of the shelter. She is one sweet, good natured girl who clearly would love the action of a canine pal as well as a human who adores her. Bindi is a tiny little thing, about 30 pounds but more terrier size so she is fast, fast, fast! She loves her toys and will play non-stop if she can. She also loves to race around with the young BC’s here, making up all kinds of games. She’s really adorable! She’ll do best with someone used to little dogs who love to be in your lap. She is good with cats. Bindi was a stray in PA.

Paired at the Farm, OTIS and BINDI became fast friends, hilarious to watch and now, they are friends forever! They are living in Nj with guardians who wanted a pair to add to their lives. They came to overnight at GHF and once they spent some time with these two, they knew the fit was just right for them. Clearly, Otis and Bindi agreed and will now enjoy tons of canine activities, even trying agility! They have access to miles of trails close to home and will join their FurDad, pretty much 24/7 exploring the great outdoors plus having fun with plenty of mental stimulation. We’re just thrilled for all involved!

OTIS: A 7 month old Border Collie, Otis is a doll, super sweet and loving. He really adores people and is happy to befriend everyone. He also loves his toys and enjoys a good keep-away game once he has his favorite squeaky! Otis is very responsive to whatever is asked of him and bonds easily. He is really loving other Border Collies at the Connor House, learning how to race, chase and play herding games. He is a very easy going, good natured pup and will blossoms with positive guidance. Otis is good with cats and about 30 pounds. He was relinquished to GHF when a separation occurred leaving him home alone 10 hours a day. He clearly needs a more engaged situation and we are glad his NJ guardian entrusted him to us. He was very adored.

Miss MIA found guardians who love the breed and enjoy helping a dog blossom, exactly what Mia needs! She loved them, with easy cuddling on the couch and felt comfortable with her new canine pal, too. She’ll have lots of fun hiking nearby parks and enjoying time with both her FurMom and FurDad who work a lot from home, which is just great for her since she is a big time people girl! She lives in Virginia.

MIA: An 8 month Border Collie, Mia is super sweet, attentive and loves attention. She is a very good natured, friendly girl and blossoming at GHF. A bit soft at times, positive reassurance brings her right out into more confidence. Quite the cuddler, she will really be shaped by someone who is sensitive with a positive approach to her growth. With other Border Collies, she is quite the herder, super fast and a racing, chasing, herding dynamo. Seeing her unfold has been a delight! She would love a BC buddy and someone who is BC savvy. Mia is about 35 pounds and good with cats.

Sweet RUBIE landed with two BC buddies who will be big brothers to her, showing her the ropes as she instigates big fun for them, too. The trio was a fabulous match, spending time on the trails at GHF with her new guardians who were vacationing here. They had been patiently waiting for the right fit for their pack and just fell in love with her! So off she goes to NY for a BC life that suits her perfectly!

RUBIE: A 10 month old Border Collie, Rubie is a lovely girl with a gentle nature who loves attention. Affectionate and sweet with everyone, she is super friendly and has an easy going nature. She is starting to sharpen her focus now being around other Border Collies and we’re seeing more of who she will become. She loves toys and playing and other games with herding dogs so we’d like her to have a BC buddy or two even. Rubie is not overly intense like some BC’s but she will need activities to mentally stimulate her which is one reason she loves being around the other BC’s at GHF. She is about 45 pounds and good with cats. She was a stray in New Hampshire.

HOPE found exactly the right people and the right place for her and we are overjoyed! This little girl met her new guardians and quickly realized they were kind, patient and understanding of how she needed to get to know them, never rushing her. With treats and toys and lots of time, they fell in love with her spirit and joy and courage and couldn’t imagine life without her! So, little Hope is living in Massachusetts on lots of acres for hiking, playing and being loved!!

HOPE: A 1 year old Border Collie, Hope is a sweet girl with so much love to give and very affectionate, too. Tending toward the shy side, it’s toy play that brings her right out of her shell. She is very bright, observant and full of energy. Hope is really enjoying the country setting of the Farm happy to go on hikes off leash with great recall to return.  She is really blossoming and will do best in a life with a patient, nurturing person who understands the nature of the breed. A simpler life with her yard, fun toy play and some hiking would be great for Hope since she has a tendency to become timid in new situations.  Hope was bred to chase geese but showed little interest at this age so she was surrendered to GHF.  She is about 35 pounds and good with cats.

Sweet, wonderful OZZY found a new life where his guardians will be with him 24/7 taking long country walks as well as playing in the yard. Plus, he’ll have a home on the lake in Maine! Since Ozzy likes to swim, we know this boy will be a happy character enjoying all the attention and all the action! He’ll even get to try paddling around on a kayak! We are so happy for Ozzy to find a forever home where he can be loved for his great heart and mind, no longer bounced from person to person…this is Ozzy’s fifth move in such a short time, all through no fault of his own and through it all, still a sweetheart.

OZZY: A 3 year old Border Collie, Ozzy is a joyful guy who loves to bound around the fields checking everything out, happy to be free to move like every BC! He’s a sweet guy, extremely gentle with people and even tentative at first til he gets to know you. Then, Ozzy is a love bug, totally cuddling and bonds fast. Ozzy is a gentle boy who needs reassurance and patient guardians who help guide him through what’s expected. He’s done beautifully walking in town on leash, friendly with everyone he meets. He is also good with other dogs but wants to play a lot, so needs just the right fit or he may be a little overwhelming with his enthusiasm so can easily be a solo dog, content with his person. He is good with dog savvy cats and 45 pounds. He was surrendered to GHF by someone who took him in, hoping to give him a good life since he came to her clearly neglected, dirty and dread-locked with mats. She didn’t have the means to do more, so gladly responded to our offer to help from her craigslist ad. He is from the PA area.

Special thanks to Jane Locacio, Erica Snyder, Ellen Simick & Katherine Schule for getting him to rescue.

Wonderful JOJO found exactly the right guardians who not only love her incredibly sweet nature, they just chuckled when she did her happy dance seeing a bone she wanted! She charmed them soon as they met her and then with an overnight, both got to see what a happy, joyful girl she truly is! JoJo will be her new FurDad’s walking partner, going miles each day and she’ll enjoy a country life in upstate NY, living right on a lake..we know she’ll love this life cause she loved the trails and pond here at GHF and now has her own paradise!! Two loving guardians 24/7 and a country life - that suits her perfectly!

JOJO: A 7 year old Border Collie mix, JoJo is loving life at the Farm, one of the happiest more joyful dogs here! She is extremely friendly with everyone she meets- no one is a stranger to this girl! JoJo is so exuberant and absolutely loves checking out the great outdoors, sniffing every corner and racing around happily. She is super fast and would love a yard to call her own with someone who adores her! She’s an easy going girl inside, loving to cuddle and sit by your side and then outside, happy to head off on her own to check everything out. JoJo was a beloved family member til her NY guardian became very ill. JoJo is good with cats. She lived in one home since a pup and will happily return to being an important companion in someone’s life again but this time she needs a fenced yard for her happiness instead of being tied out. She is about 50 pounds.

SPECK found the perfect home with a former GHF adopter who wanted to add another BC to her pack and knew he would fit like a glove! His sharp focus and fabulous temperament was the combo she wanted for agility and Speck instantly showed off his brilliance when they met. The match is perfect for both..he’s joining a herding canine pack which he loves and has a new FurMom who will keep him busy, busy, busy which he is!! Speck now lives in NJ and we can’t wait to see what cool activities he excels in doing!

SPECK: A 8 month old Border Collie, Speck is full of spunk, ready to race, chase, and join in any BC games.  He is extremely focused and very, very smart, so aware and tuned into everything  - a very classic, wonderful young BC boy! Speck is also super friendly, people oriented and confident. A good natured boy, he could easily join a BC home and would love a canine herding pal! While he’s extremely good-natured, Speck needs something to capture his mind with focused engagement or he’ll find his own job! he’d be great in sports of any kind. One of the nicest dogs to land in rescue, he is also best for BC savvy guardians who understand his mental, physical and emotional needs. (Speck will only be placed BC savvy adopters who understand the breed.) He easily mixes with other BC’s and loves to make up herding games. He is about 35 pounds and good with cats.

PRINN, aka Princess, landed a “royal" life with a family who felt she was exactly the wonderful girl to add to their family! They understood her sensitive nature as well as her fun side and felt they could absolutely love her and chuckle at that very picky Princess side, too! Former GHF adopters, they happily returned to adopt again, many, many years later cause they wanted another beloved canine pal to join them. We are so happy for this girl to find a loving family again. She now lives in CT.

PRINN: A 3 year old Border Collie mix, Prinn is very, very smart, observant and clues into whatever is going on around her quickly. Focused and athletic, she loves her frisbee game and will retrieve pretty much any toy tossed her way. She would love an active guardian who likes to have a dog friend who can take her places, including her fully in their life. She is super sweet and very friendly, a people girl for sure. Prinn is good with other dogs but would be happiest as a solo dog since she likes to be in charge of toys and all the attention, a classic girl! She lived with cats and did well with them but will chase a bit so best with dog savvy cats used to that. She is about 50 pounds. She was relinquished to a PA shelter who works with GHF, given up due to a move.

KEIRA has found a new life that is perfect for her! In three short months of being fostered with 3 GHF alums, who were once also very shut down and a confident ‘mentor’ Border Collie, Keira made incredible progress! She even went to the Outer Banks for dozens of beach sessions and walks into the big world. Her fosterers knew that they had the right place for this girl to continue to blossom and wouldn’t want her to go anywhere else, ever! So, Keira is HOME!!! It’s been a two year journey for her to find her way but she’s now set forever. And, for all of us at GHF, we’re really excited cause we’ll see her at the Getaway when they vacation, along with her new canine pals who we totally adore seeing each season!!!

KEIRA, A petite 3 yr old Border Collie, Kiera is coming to life! This shut down shy girl hid for a long time but through the interaction with the other dogs, she is so much fun to watch now.  She’s curious and absolutely loving the herding games of being with other BC’s, fitting into groups and with other dogs beautifully.  And, thanks to her FosterMom’s efforts to excite her with toys, she is a serious toy lover, too!  The jolly ball and frisbee bring out all her focus for fun!   Keira is still a very skittish girl and will need someone very patient to build on the foundation she now has, step by step.  She needs plenty of time to really trust someone and follow their lead, as well as living with a confident BC who can be her mentor.  Keira is maneuvering around the house almost like normal, a bit nervous but oh so very brave. Keira is a very very gentle dog and incredibly sweet, starting to enjoy the affectionate touch of humans. She is about 30 pounds and is good with cats.  She was living an awful life stuck inside a pen 24/7 covered in feces and urine, never outside part of a breeder operation in Indiana.

LIL & SAGE are about to enjoy a country paradise with hundreds of conservation land available to explore and hike!  Their new FurMom loves to be active outside on the trails and wanted a pair of bonded Border Collies to join her. She’s always had two dogs and knows just how fun it can be watching them actively enjoy each other and a loving home, too. She’ll be with them 24/7 and after spending a night at GHF with them, she was so thrilled to have these sweet girls as her family.  Their joy made her smile, feeling grateful to share her heart and home with them both. They now live in MA.

SAGE, age 4 & LIL, age 3 are ABCA registered Border Collies who are not only gorgeous, they are very, very sweet. They are half-sisters, each a little different in energy and personality, but a nicely blended pair who do well together. Lil really depends on Sage so we are likely to adopt them out together. Both girls lived in one home since pups and are very very friendly and good natured. They have limited experience meeting other dogs but truly enjoy the games they make together. Sage is more easy-going, happy to have some cuddle time but also ready to join the ball games, allowing Lil to always be the retriever as Sage is the herder, circling around the toss. Lil is more high-drive, very fast and focused, eager to play ball endlessly. She likes to cuddle, too but action is more appealing than ‘hang-around’ time. Both are average size for the breed, about 40 pounds and both are fine with cats. Their NY guardians had to make a long-distance move and could not take them so relinquished them to GHF.

Sweet MAGGIE waited a long time to find just the right person who would understand her sensitivities and provide a loving, calm life for her. Her new FurDad is the real Dad of one of our adopters who had been hoping for a friend for him. He wanted a peaceful, sweet dog to be with him 24/7 and his daughter felt GHF could find just the right fit, which we did! Maggie has been in rescue almost a year as we’ve waited for exactly the life she will now have - a constant companionship; a deck to watch the great outdoors and a yard for some squirrel chasing and place to bury her bone! For Maggie, life is now very very good!!!! She lives in NJ.

MAGGIE: A 7 year old Border Collie, Maggie is gorgeous, just a classic, beautiful girl. She is also extremely sweet with people and eager to bond. She can be a little worried with someone new so we’d like to have an adult home to make it easier on her, with less chaos. She is easy going and good natured, a pleasure to be with and she wants to be right by your side and happily joins you in whatever you are doing. Maggie also loves the ball and will play some games but isn’t over the top to do it all the time. She was a stray in PA, taken in by dog lovers who had no means to meet her needs so contacted GHF. She’s spent the last year living in a garage as the family attempted to help her but then realized she deserved more. She is not good with cats and about 45 pounds. Maggie is best as a solo dog since she can be defensive when dogs are in her space, very typical of many female BC’s.

Little Miss DAISY found someone who would adore all that charm that is this very much this special girl! She was so wanting a friend again, just like Daisy so when they met…it was tears! Daisy’s new FurMom just knew when she saw her story on the site that they were meant to be together! We are so very, very happy for Daisy to find someone who would not only adore her but truly appreciate just how special this little survivor is…no more chained to a dog house for this girl! Love, Love, Love!! And, big time joy!!!!! Daisy now lives in Massachusetts with a yard to call her own and lots of walks all through the country which Daisy will love!

DAISY: A petite 8 year old Border Collie mix, Daisy has won all our hearts with her charming, funny nature! This little girl has a huge personality - she stands upright like a little circus dog, races around full-speed, curious about everything and barks to let us know she counts - clearly this Daisy girl has a ton of life in her and she is ready to enjoy everything around her. She is super sweet, just enjoying whatever new goodies come her way now! By far one of the most unique girls ever to come to GHF, she really needs her person to have a great sense of humor cause Daisy leaves everyone chuckling with her antics. She is about 35 pounds and is not good with cats. Thanks to a dog loving neighbor, Daisy is safe and in rescue rather than being tied out to a dog house. She has not interacted with many dogs so is best as a solo dog.

Little LOTTI came in with a big burst of joy, raced around the Farm, got over her health challenges including pulling 30 teeth! and is now living the rest of her life with our Senior Caretaker, who absolutely fell in love with her. So many seniors live with our Caretaker and blossom with her kindness and devoted attention but something about Lotti grabbed her so deeply, she just couldn’t bear to see her leave. We are so happy for them both! Lotti is recovering from her difficult dental surgery and will be back on track soon, chasing and racing and bounding through the Farm yard! A special thanks to Ellen Simcik for spotting this petite girl sitting in a PA shelter, saving her life.

LOTTI: A petite 10 year old Border Collie or BC mix, Lotti is one special, super sweet girl! She is full of personality, like a magnet with people who instantly are drawn to say hello. Outgoing and radiating joy - happiness is the word that suits this girl. She is a senior in age only, certainly happy to keep up with the younger dogs, bounding across the Farm fields. Lotti could easily join other herding dogs or even be a solo dog since she loves attention as well as activity. She is best with dog savvy cats and about 24 pounds. She was a stray in a PA shelter.
