BRADY: A gorgeous 2 year old Border
Collie, Brady loves to play with other dogs and is happiest running
around, making up doggie games. Like any young border collie, he
needs an outlet for his energy and a home that understands the breed. He
is very very smart, alert and observant. He can be shy meeting new people
so will need a patient guardian to help him build his confidence. He will
blossom in the right home where his needs can be met and a strong
relationship with a person can be built. Brady is good with cats. He is
typical in size for the breed, about 40 - 45 pounds. Brady has lived with
children but did not have the freedom of a fenced yard so will do best
where he can have freedom to safely run and play. He will be placed in an
adult home since he has some herding instincts though not extreme. Brady
was relinquished because the family felt he was the wrong breed for their
situation and had a baby coming, as well as three other children, needing
their attention. Brady was surrendered to the farm from the PA area.
|
SASHA & BRADY: This
gorgeous duo found their forever home together, having been roommates at
the farm, both enjoying the herding and chasing games that border collies
love. They will now have plenty of space for play, as well as hiking,
kayaking and continual love and adoration from their new guardians who are
in love with the breed. Sasha and Brady now live in Maine.
SASHA: A petite 2 1/2 year old
tri-color Border Collie w/papers, Sasha is very people focused and
friendly. She loves to be with someone and will 'shadow' them, happy to be
their companion. Sasha is also quite the cuddler, happy to be loved and
give love. She is very very smart, alert and has some herding instinct.
She is eager to please and responds beautifully to whatever is asked of
her. Sasha has not yet been tested on cats. She is about 30 - 35 pounds. Sasha
was relinquished because she was herding horses in an unfenced situation
and the guardians did not want to tie her out. She came to the farm from
Walton, NY.

friendly. Joie is good with other dogs and would be happiest with another
young border collie. He will also do best in a border collie savvy home.
Joie is interested in toys and eager to interact. He is good with
cats. Joie will be placed in an adult home since he's still learning
about mouthiness and can be a bit grabby like a puppy. Joie

REA: A 3 month old Border Collie Mix,
due to come to the farm this weekend but delayed a few days. Rea is sweet,
cute and cuddly like any young pup. She is strong willed and full of
energy so will benefit from having another dog to play with and a home
with good dog skills. Rea is eager to please and connect with people so
will be a fun companion. She is about 22 pounds. Rea is now in a
foster home and will be coming to the Farm shortly. Please contact the farm if
interested before she arrives here. |
Little Rea, now called
Sophie, found her forever home in a roundabout way, some may say, or
actually, the most direct way - the person transporting- we asked
her if she could hold onto her for a few nights and well, the rest is history! It's not the first time this
has happened, many a time it's crystal clear that the transporter is the
person the dog is meant to meet and we're happy to say, that's the story
here! Little Sophie now lives with Ollie, a border collie from the Farm
and Kirby, our funny lab-corgi mix that strayed to the Farm so we can now
make it a trio of dogs from the Farm! We offer a big congratulations to
the Longfellow family and of course Sophie, who now has a loving life
forever. Sophie now lives in NY. |

Lovely Isabella found
her forever home with Lass, who she adores. They roomed together at the
Farm and even curled up near each other for breaks when inside, literally
checking in on each other often. Isabella now has Lass to herd and keep
track of, as well as another Border Collie buddy, Sam, who she met and
liked too! Her loving guardians know the breed well and have just the
right property with ducks and other animals to keep them busy! Isabella
now lives in upstate NY.
ISABELLA: Lovely, little Isabella is a
petite 3 year old Border Collie weighing it at only 20-25 lbs. She is a
sweetheart, just a gentle, affectionate girl. She prefers laying next to
you, happy to have her head rubbed and a belly rub. She is also quite
interested in everything around her and is active like all Border Collies,
looking for a focus for her brilliant, thinking mind. She is good with
other dogs and would do best with another border collie. She chases cats
but will not hurt them, so would be best with dog savvy cats. Isabella was found as a stray, pregnant at the time. She
came into rescue long after her puppies were adopted, given to us from a
nearby NY shelter.

playing and running and being the energetic border collie he is. A perfect
match, Micke now lives in New Jersey.
MICKE: A 6 year old Border Collie with
papers, Micke is a sweet, loving dog, very eager to be with people. He
loves attention and is happy to have belly rubs as well as lots of toy
play. Like any Border Collie, Micke has a good 'eye' and is very focused

elderly couple who then gave her away to a home that wasn't really suited to her so she thankfully found her way to the Farm. |

BEENE, the wonderful little stray who held his own amidst all these
herding dogs, found his forever home with someone his own size, almost
identical to him. Kasey, his new 'girlfriend' had him doing flips on his back in joy, bounding around like we'd never seen before - he was
so animated and happy to finally have a friend just like himself...we chuckled watching the fun! Beene's has two great kids for fun, too and
guardians who love the comical fun of little characters like Beene. Funny thing is his new guardian once found a stray border collie on the
street who lived with her for many years - probably explains why Beene came to us - just to find her with a border collie connection! Beene
now lives in New Jersey and will never be wandering down a street, matted so badly he couldn;t even see his way. The poor little guy now
looks like a king and will live like one, too!

Sweet shy Bette found
her forever home with a special guardian who understands the patience
needed to help Bette continue to develop and blossom. She runs her own dog
school, using only positive methods of training and plans to have Bette
involved eventually in therapy dog work, going into nursing homes once a
week. Bette's sweet nature will over lots of people, making a big
difference in their lives. And, Bette also gets to continue trying agility
as well as playing with the many dog friends that will now be in her life,
including three Great Danes who will live with her. Bette happily trotted
all over the paddock following her new furmom and one of the dogs who will
now be her furbuddy. We are so pleased that Bette developed so well to
become the loving, people oriented dog she now is and want to express our
deepest gratitude to Dee and Joe Hines, Layne, Morgan and Logan, who all
helped transform this terrified little girl into an adoptable Border
Collie. Now, she'll shed that shyness even more and share her
great sweetness will all she meets. Bette nows lives in upstate NY.
BETTE:
A 7 month old Border Collie (mix) is a very loving and delightful pup.
She had a rough start coming from a collector situation with little human
contact. Now this delightful little girl can't get enough love. She knows
Come, Sit, Shake-Paw, Down and Kennel-Up. Bette charms everyone with her
winsome ways, human and canine alike. She will bark to let you know there
is a stranger about but once you let them in, don't count on her for a
guard. She is one of the most agile, graceful and nimble dogs ever
seen. She seems to make 90 degree turns with ease---running at full speed.
And she is FAST ! A little on the small side, she would make a great
agility dog. This pup can climb a 5 foot tree stump. Yes, climb.
Bette is very intelligent and capable of learning anything asked of her.
Due to her background, she still needs to continue building her confidence
and being trained with positive reinforcement only. She will be
placed with another dog and in a fenced yard. Bette is now getting
to try some agility equipment for fun! She is good with cats and typical
in size for a pup. Bette came from a collector situation in PA and
has done beautifully in foster care in NJ. She can be seen at the
Farm.

JEZABEL:
A gorgeous 4 year old Border Collie, Jezabel is a lovely, sweet, girl who
found her forever home en route to the farm. One of our adopters who
adopted Bryce (on the right), was coming to volunteer for the holiday
weekend and agreed to bring Jezabel with her to the farm. Well, the trip

they belonged together and so did the three dogs. Jezabel chose her new
person and shadowed her everywhere once at the farm, obvious to all, that
she was deciding where she wanted to be! Jezabel now lives with Riley and
Bryce in New Hampshire where she will be safe and adored forever. Jezabel

Happy Harper found his
forever home with a family who thinks he's the greatest, coolest dog
around! He lounged around with them, played with toys and even scaled a
paddock fence to show them his agile approach to going where he wants to
go! Besides loving him, Harper will get to try agility and use all that
brilliance figuring out how to get through the obstacle course...he should
be great at that! Harper now lives with a fur buddy, Roxy and two kids who
will share all their love with him. Harper lives in CT.
HARPER: A 1 1/2 year old Border Collie,
Harper is a friendly, outgoing, want to play kind of dog. He really wants
to be with people and loves to chase and run with toys. He is very eager
to bond and pays close attention to whatever person is nearby, ready to
please. He would be a wonderful companion, happy to go everywhere and
anywhere with you. He loves to ride in the car, too. Harper is one of THE
most agile dogs in rescue...he not only leaps up to pull himself over a 6
foot fence (like a chin-up), he also goes up attic stairs.. the ones that
are only 4 inches wide and go very steep into your attic. And, if that's
not all this marvelous magician can do, he goes down the attic stairs...an
unbelievable thing to see! He could most definitely do agility! Harper is good with
other dogs. He could be happy as a solo dog in an active home or with
another dog or two. Harper could live with cats if they are used to dogs.
He will do best with someone who knows how to introduce the two since he doesn't
quite know what to do with them so will bark. He is easily called off and
makes no move to hurt them. Harper is
about 55 pounds, a little larger than the norm. He was a stray in
Syracuse, NY where the shelter called us for help with him.
