Blake now JAKE is officially HOME…our Glen Highland adopters were pretty sure he would stay but with such an impromptu rerouting of the transport on a moments notice, we wanted them to have a couple days to be certain. They are VERY sure:

”You try to take him & we’re moving! He is OURS! He is beyond the sweetest dog and has captured our hearts! He’s really wagging his tail and jumps up for hellos in our laps!"

Thankfully, the fate of this handsome fella quickly went from horrible to happy with the best care and love now. We are so thrilled to have helped make all this possible.

And send a special thanks to Paws Along the River in Warren PA for giving him safe refuge to restart his life. It always takes a village!

Glen Highland has a long history of kismet as Border Collies find their place in unexpected ways and it happened again today!

Senior fella, Blake, was being picked up from a Pennsylvania shelter at 9am to start transport toward Glen Highland in Virginia. One of our adopters kindly offered to drive to meet another adopter who, would hold onto Blake until Saturday, when yet another adopter would drive to get him and meet our transport person then bringing him to Virginia.

Blake curled up in the car calmly as his adventure moving through Pennsylvania began!

BUT, seems another plan was about to unfold. Around noon, a different Glen Highland adopter who had lost their GH BC in October, texted great news…

"Mike and I are ready to adopt again... if you have a border collie whom we would all 3 be a good fit.. or if I see & fit.. Please keep us in mind even though we're "old farts" we're not dead... can play and walk ...love comfort and definitely great food plus patience and love love love."

WELL SANDY & MIKE LIVE IN PENNSYLVANIA, AND BLAKE WAS ONLY 2 HOURS FROM THEM!!!!

So, Blake’s routing was changed to head HOME for a foster to adopt situation!!!! Everyone involved is so thrilled with the good news! Glen Highland will handle the vet needs as planned and wait to hear how everything unfolds!

Blake, after a stressful time in your life you have now landed at a true sanctuary. It's time to live your best life. Kumba, Zoe, Kate and Lisa

About 3 weeks ago, Blake was found clipped to fence outside a Humane Society, leaving him stranded in the first snowfall of a very cold night. Extremely skinny, flea bitten, no front teeth left & a heart murmur indicated serious lack of care on top of a cruel act of abandonment. The shelter IS pressing cruelty charges.
