Former GH adopters met one of our PA adopters who kindly drove him from PA near to the NY border and then off he went... quite a slog of miles for this good-natured fella. We’ll see some great pictures once he settles in once and for all where he can be adored. We are so happy for Buddy and know he will enjoy a life with lots of great walks on his property and nearby conservation trails! Special thanks to Erica Snyder who spent her sunday driving to make the trip a lot shorter for the adopters! And kudos to our adopters who kindly opened their hearts and home to a Senior!! |

BUDDY'S HISTORY A 10 year old Border Collie mix, Buddy is a character, just a really easy-going, go-with-the-flow kinda guy! He LOVES having ‘HIS' person and will be your favorite friend of all time… imagine a cheery fella who thinks you are the best thing in life. His name suits him perfectly! Buddy enjoys lots of squeaky toys and a good spot on the couch, comfy and settled. He is very calm like most BC mixes and while he thinks living with other dogs is ok, he’d be happy to be the only guy in town. He is great with cats, too. He had one of the funniest cat tests we’ve seen…totally tolerant even on a vet table! Buddy is heartworm positive so now starting the “slow-kill” method of treatment. His case was deemed ‘mild’ by the vet who tested him so we are optimistic that he could clear within months as others have done at Glen Highland. He has a relaxed energy so is a great candidate for this approach.
Buddy can be adopted now and Glen Highland will provide the proper topical treatment. Like all flea/tick preventatives, it’s applied between the shoulders monthly. He is 50 pounds and came to Glen Highland from Arkansas. He lived outside most of his life and clearly LOVES living inside, a perfect gentleman about everything. A local rescuer kept Buddy safe after his person died and then we were contacted. Special thanks to Karen Bagwell for helping Buddy stay out of harm’s way and Aiyana Persinger & Tim Mills, our transport team in Virginia. And thanks to Ellen & Andy Simick who are fostering Buddy in Pittsburgh PA - he likes the snow!!! |
