JIM HAS FOUND A NEW LIFE WITH A FORMER GH ADOPER!

She saw him when he first popped up to be rescued but the timing to add to her life was not quite right. Now, Jim will head to her the end of May to join her pack of two girls for lots of love, stimulation and patient understanding, all of which Jim needs!

He will be so cherished and love the safe nest she creates for all her rescue dogs. Ironically, Jim came from the midwest to us in Virginia and now heads back to that region for a life with one of our favorite adopters!

JIM'S HISTORY

JIM’s ACL surgery from February has healed beautifully and he is now ready for adoption to the right person who is patient and can kindly guide him to understand living in a home.

An 11 year old Border Collie, he is not only gorgeous, he is THE sweetest guy around. Jim just wants to be near his person and be their shadow, wherever they go. A really good-natured, easy going guy, he would blossom with someone devoted to him.

He is a very soft, trusting Border Collie so takes it to heart if he has done something wrong so does best with positive guidance. However, he doesn’t know what he doesn’t know so sometimes does funny things like staring into the fridge reflection unsure of who that is staring back at him!

Aside from charming behaviors, he will lick at doors outside hoping they will be opened for him to come in or he will push his nose into anything in the house with an aroma that arouses his curiosity. He tends to pick up items that are not for him…a ‘finders keepers’ orientation to all the goodies now around in his environment.

Unlike the 11 year old adult he is, Jim is like a puppy in many respects so needs just the right person to give him time to learn lots of new things and love helping him do so. He thoroughly enjoys exploring the outdoors and is very good in the car, walks on a leash well and is crate trained.

Jim has a huge loving heart to share and deserves just the right situation after the previous life he lived. He gets along really well with female herding dogs (obviously a bit of history from his breeding days).

We do not know if he is good with cats. He is under 40 pounds, a more petite size BC.

Jim was a young, well-trained working dog in Wales and then landed in Michigan after he lost his hearing, bought by someone to be a breeding dog. Once that person became ill, he needed a chance for a totally new life with the help of Glen Highland.

So grateful Jim is coming to you. I wish I could take him but not the best time to bring a new dog into my pack. So grateful for GHF. - Gretchen Rierson
