Lovely LUCCA landed in a temporary foster home with Glen Highland adopters who fell in love and her stop-over became permanent!

Lucca joins a pack of herding friends including another GH dog who had also been heading north to Virginia and found a forever spot, too. Lots of love to give plus lots of pals makes for one happy girl….we are thrilled for Lucca and the whole family!

LUCCA'S HISTORY

Say hello to LUCCA, a lovely, good-natured 8 year old from Virginia. She lost her home being ‘nervous around children’ so we are happy to help this girl find a new life.

The shelter had rave reviews for her and we’re finding the same…easy-going, curious, good with other dogs and cats and a kinda ‘goes with the flow’ personality. She can jump baby gates so clearly is an agile Border Collie, too!

Lucca is currently in a temporary foster home til we have a spot open in early June. A huge thanks to GH adopter, Julie Dean-Adams who kindly pulled her out of harm’s way as the shelter was getting overcrowded - due to her age & worries with children - she was on the list for possible euthanasia.

And, a big thanks to the Franklin County Animal Shelter who reached out to us for help and our rescue colleague, Blue Ridge Border Collie Rescue who covers western Virginia, helping too.
