LULU has landed in a Border Collie paradise with 30 acres on a lake and 175 acre land preserve nearby!! Since she loves to explore with long walks, this will suit her perfectly! She’ll be the 24/7 companion to her new guardians who love the breed and were looking for just the right girl to add to their lives, giving them that brilliant Border Collie energy back again. Lulu will be celebrating her tenth birthday with this new step where she has had a life of three changes in homes, leading her on yet another journey with new people. We are certain this very lovely girl will flourish, deeply sharing her heart. |

LULU'S HISTORY 9 year old Lulu found herself back at Glen Highland in January 2026 - originally adopted at 8 months old in 2017. She was a marvelous girl then and continues to be remarkable NOW. Lulu is THE quintessential, highly intelligent, focused and loving Border Collie. She has the nature that makes this breed so very special. Sweet as can be, Lulu loves to ‘melt into you’, literally by your side at all times. She is intent on being a partner with her person and eager to see ‘what WE are doing’ and how ’she can join in’. She has great recall and easily sticks nearby on hikes, having lived on 40 acres unfenced. While her life has been as the ‘matriarch’ to the pack of three others - Olivia, Steele & Tinker - she would be happiest as a solo dog, alleviating the pressure of being in charge. Her preference is ‘her person’. She loves car rides, in ’shotgun’ spot for all that unfolds and sad when left behind!
The original adopter updated life with Lulu all the time: "Lulu is one of the most incredible caring dogs I have ever met. She's so amazing, by my side constantly, smartest dog ever. She is truly an exceptional border collie with an amazing heart.” Sadly, a difficult decision was made to return Lulu due a job loss and move. Thankfully, Lulu has adjusted and is ready for her new adventure. We are restoring her health since funds for vetting languished in recent years and she came back in rough shape. Her bad skin infection is resolving (due to fleas) and we are treating her two tick-borne diseases. She is also gaining weight, nearing a normal 45 pounds. Clearly a happy Border Collie, Lulu adjusts to the curves life has thrown her. She loves to play ball though will control other dogs who have a ball so a life where she can be the center of attention is well-deserved. We prefer a fenced yard for Lulu in a rural setting where she can explore outdoors. Lulu also loves to swim! She is best with dog savvy cats.
