Sweet little MIA joined a Glen Highland family,
making a great pack of Border Collies and two very happy humans.

Her new FurMom & FurDad have had ten Border Collies, to date, five of which were from GH…we are so happy for Mia to join this terrific home where she will flourish with tons of play and adventure. They traveled from NJ to Virginia soon as they saw her picture and heard how lovely she was…and now, she’s part of their life! They are happy to add another Senior to the group, giving all the love and care they deserve…we are grateful for their open hearts for this adorable deaf girl, full of spunk!

MIA'S HISTORY

Lovely little 11 year old MIA arrived into rescue June 2023 full of cheer and joy as she takes off after a ball or herding other dogs. She is quite spunky with a herding nature and eager to join the action. Mia is deaf though that is not a deficit for her whatsoever because she joins a pack quickly and blends right in…no one would even know.

Besides being a classic Border Collie, Mia is very affectionate and friendly, without fears or worries in a big world that she cannot hear. She was born deaf and had a loving home for almost all her life. The birth of a baby and another on the way didn’t work for Mia or her people, so she needed rescue.

A former Glen Highland adopter is set to meet Mia as soon as she is spayed. She will likely join their current pack of two, one a GH alum, recently adopted! We will update her status after that meeting end of June.

A huge thanks to Vivianne Cowley & Jim Gaglione who jumped into action to help transport Mia when her owner made the drive from Texas to TN…they made sure Mia made it to Virginia! Thanks, too, to Renate Goodloe who helped with the final driving haul to Gloucester! The Texas border collie rescues were overloaded so asked for our help.
