YAY FOR HOME TO HOME ADOPTIONS

A sweet story to warm your heart…. Just as a big storm was about to hit upstate NY on the Canadian border, GLEN HIGHLAND was asked to help move PEPPER, a 10 year old Border Collie, from an empty house after his guardian died (Pepper’s 2nd home).

A neighbor had agreed to take care of Pepper until he could be transported to Florida to the original guardian (his 1st home). However, the neighbor was overwhelmed and needed him to move ASAP - before the winter storm and the holidays.

A GH adopter lived right in the same area, and agreed to get Pepper that very day to transport him west, braving the approaching weather. Another adopter further west stood ready to meet that transport and move him even further west to meet the key person who could then hold onto him until it was safe for the long journey to Florida.

Like clockwork, a few hours of back and forth logistics meant PEPPER would be on his way! Thanks to the wonderful GH adopters: Annie Mazur, Steve Harrington, Mary Jean Maisto and NEBCR’s Petra Hejnova.

However….PEPPER FOUND HIS NEW LIFE WITHIN MINUTES OF JUMPING IN THE FIRST CAR! He was such a sweet senior, easy as could be, even in the midst of chaos being handed to a stranger….His true nature was easy to see! And it was love literally at first sight.

Pepper is staying in NY and happily laying around in his new living room with his new person, Steve! Turns out that Steve had been thinking of rescuing another Border Collie since he loves them and Pepper just ’spoke to him’...

The magic of border collies can never be under-estimated!!!
