REILLY has found his forever home, remaining in the fosterer’s home!

We are thrilled for this sweet guy who really needed the right combination of 24/7 care and lots of BC activities. He has handled the new situation well and we are happy it is his last move! He is very adored!

March 2025 Update: REILLY moved to a foster setting with an experienced former adopter who can focus on his challenges and support him 24/7…exactly what he needed for his next step!! This sweet guy made progress on medication and an environment change but will benefit from more structure tailored just to him.

Almost 11 years old, Reilly is not a sedate fella at all - he is FULL of energy - much like a 6 year old!The ball is his favorite go-to game but it’s not always retrieving, it’s more a keep-away-chase-me game even while other dogs are retrieving the ball. Think of him as the outfielder circling the action…happy as can be. Reilly does have an OCD tendency in circling dogs so needs interruption.

Though a sweet guy, Reilly is a special needs Border Collie since he has separation anxiety and many obsessive compulsive reactions to everything. Reilly's storm reactions are also very extreme not wanting to be alone and he cannot be crated. He must remain on Prozac for the rest of his life. Reilly has done well at Glen Highland with a confident mentor dog to ease his worries but when he panics, he requires full focus.

His anxiety worsened from the covid experience where he and his former person were together 24/7 for two years when she became ill. It was an extreme shock to him when she recovered and started leaving the house leading to behaviors she could not handle. Reilly will destroy a door to prevent a person from leaving him or to follow where you go…medication has helped him.
