The start of 2025 is full of celebration! ROCCO is one of two Seniors that went to new homes starting the year off perfectly, now forever cherished. We organized a transport north to Pennsylvania New Year’s Day and each former GH adopter drove to get their new friend! Athletic 9 year old ROCCO will now have a loving home with one of our former Glen Highland adopters who was ready to add another busy, fun-loving partner to join her hiking, agility and in all the activities she does! She loves the Border Collie brilliance and intensity so Rocco was the perfect fit. He has some big paws to fill but as she said, this new friend joins her in "GHF Alum Keene's honor - In loving memory of the bestest trail friend ever if not the bestest paddle-boarder”. We know Rocco will fill do just fine to fill her heart with love and joy and fun! Rocco now lives in upstate NY. We are so glad she opened her home to a Senior: "I really love that your organization takes in these wonderful dogs at an older time in life when often they are abandoned or passed up." |
At age 9, ROCCO is a stunning fella as well as quite the athlete. He loves toys of all kinds and will even make up games on his own, entertaining himself. He’s smart as can be and loves learning. Rocco is a huge favorite in doggie daycare where he has gone for 6 years, fitting in easily with other dogs never causing issues though he clicks best with energetic herding dogs. His BFF was a female Aussie who loved toy games as much as he does! But, his real best friends were the staff! Rocco is very affectionate, outgoing and friendly. He loves attention and engaging with people! He has lived in one home since a pup but now needs a new situation due to a divorce changing the living situation. He has been a well-loved family member and has a great temperament. He is about 45 pounds and originally from an Amish Pennsylvania farm.
