The adorable duo Beau & Sweetie arrived as a surprise pair of Aussies landing at Glen Highland. They quickly attracted attention of their new guardians who spotted them on our site as they searched for a Senior Border Collie. They had previously had an Aussie and a Border Collie so jumped at the chance to meet both of them!

The day they were posted on the site, we received their call and they drove the next day, totally thrilled to find their new family members. End of the week, they all came back to bring them home! These lovely dogs will be front and center on their new journey, totally cherished. Lots of walks ahead, car rides, toy play and cuddling on the couch…all of which will suit them perfectly.

Beau & Sweetie now live in Virginia…thanks to the generous help of volunteers who transported them to us as quickly as possible from KY…keeping them out of harm’s way.

We are thrilled to have opened the door for a new journey for these two!

BEAU & SWEETIE'S STORY

SWEETIE, age 10 & BEAU, age 5, mother and son, needed a new home due to the severe illness of their guardian. A relative dropped them (along with their female Aussie friend) at a Kentucky shelter. Alerted to their situation, Glen Highland stepped in to transport all three to safety, one to Aussie rescue and bringing the two Border Collies to Virginia.

Sweetie& Beau are the sweetest, most wonderful dogs…Animal Control in KY reported them to be great; the boarding facility we tucked them in waiting for transport agreed they were lovely and now, WE confirm they are terrific.

These two have adjusted beautifully to so much change.. they just want to be wherever their person is and are happy to ‘go with the flow’. They ARE Australian Shepherds however so need people who understand this breed and while similar to Border Collies, they ARE different!

We know very little about their history except all three lived with a man and now meeting them, clearly they were loved companions. They are good in the car, good on a leash, good in the house and totally connected to each other and they really listen to a person, even a brand new one like us! They physically play and compete for the ball but have worked out any arguing so Mom wins! Beau loves to instigate play with her and of course she eventually says ok-…it’s cute.

They do love the couch and do love being near each other so we really want to find them a home together, OBVIOUSLY. Both are about 50 pounds.

Special thanks to our transporters who REALLY traveled huge distances to get the three to rescue safety. Jim Adams & Julie Dean-Adams and Jennifer Jones Villar volunteered for incredible driving times and we thank them.
