The start of 2025 is full of celebration! TOBY is one of two Seniors that went to new homes starting the year off perfectly, now forever cherished. We organized a transport north to Pennsylvania New Year’s Day and each former GH adopter drove to get their new friend!

TOBY the 10 year old sweetheart with a big personality is about to join a pack of three GH alums and have a blast!

Former GH adopters were not thinking of a 4th but when they read about Toby, he sounded like the perfect addition. He will be best buds with 12 year olds Reed & Jake (adopted January 2023), and have the matriarch, 15 year old Pepper, to keep the boys in line!

We know the antics of this gang of fun characters will be endless! They have 2 acres for lots of exploration and racing around chasing squirrels which they love to do! Toby started in a Pennsylvania shelter only to head back to PA for his new life! The route to get HOME is ironic but a bit of kismet!

TOBY'S HISTORY

At age 10, TOBY is quite the charmer, totally loving to be with his person side-by-side. He literally drapes himself over your body while cuddling on the couch. His Border Collie/Aussie nature makes him quite puppy-like where he even tugs a sleeve for attention! Yes, Toby is focused but it’s on a person not toys…those are 2nd in line to affection.

This sweet guy was left in a PA shelter when his elderly guardians could no longer handle his energy with the grandkids. To us, he does not seem overly energetic but he is surely not sedate - he just loves life and has joy to share! Toby actually keeps us chuckling. He is super friendly and a bit stockier in build so best for older children or an adult only home.

Toby likes other dogs and is not a lead whatsoever, happy to be a follower. And will enjoy dog play if the other dog engages. He is also good with cats.

Toby is approximately 55 pounds.

Special thanks to Vanessa Ayres, Shannon Blyndenburg, Gail Hurley & Shawn Colvin who helped drive Toby from PA to Virginia to get him to safety.
