We are so happy for Zeke to find a new home that suits him perfectly! He is joining a canine buddy with a FurMom & FurDad who love herding dogs! Zeke will have plenty of ball play and most importantly, they will be with him 24/7, a true family member which will allow Zeke to thrive. He loved all the attention meeting them and will really enjoy walks on their 13 acre property where he can take in the big outside world! He might even get back to some agility for fun which he also did in his previous home. Zeke will be living in North Carolina. |
ZEKE'S HISTORY A 9 year old Border Collie, Zeke is a sensitive guy who has endured a lot of change due to the illnesses of his guardians. A beloved family member, he was adrift as they navigated physical maladies beyond their control, eventually realizing giving Zeke up was the only answer. A tough process that left Zeke with other people the past five months, ultimately leaving him with separation anxiety. We are glad they knew of Glen Highland and are very happy to help. Zeke arrived into rescue in March 2023. Zeke is a very happy Border Collie who enjoys ball games with great joy. He loves people and clearly thinks everyone is his friend. Zeke has done well handling his rescue buddies though mostly wants to be side by side with our Caretaker, of course. Seeing the joyful nature of this very friendly Border Collie, we expect it will be best for him to have another BC buddy and someone home a lot…a good recipe for any dog but those who have experienced big changes, really need human connection and time to unwind. Another herding pal really helps signal that everything in life is just fine. Zeke previously lived with a BC pal. Zeke does have worries about storms which have grown with all the changes so he will need someone patient who understands how scared Border Collies get with the changing vibrations of bad weather. He also has some interest in moving cars so needs a fenced yard in a quieter traffic area rather than any urban-like setting. Zeke is good with cats. All his vet work shows a very healthy dog, about to turn 10 in December, fit and ready to enjoy many years ahead.
Special thanks to Katie Leslie, Pat Stokely and Pete Goodloe who kindly transported Zeke from Pennsylvania to Virginia - he did great in each car ride! |
