TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE • Solo dog or w/friend CHARLEY, age 9, has really blossomed in a life tailored to his needs - lots of toy play, hiking and exploring each day with canine pals in the foster home and doing what he loves most - giving and getting affection! Charley is quite an attentive companion - a big time cuddler, super friendly with everyone, happy to go wherever his person goes or just hang resting at your feet - Charley is one delightful Border Collie mix! Prior to rescue, Charley had a big job living with five children after the death of his first guardian and while he was a loved family member, he was not at the top of the list. Now, it’s HIS chance to shine. His charming nature is evident as he puts his head on top of your leg or chest when laying down, giving that big-eyed hello so happy to BE with you. Aside from his solid focus on his person/people, he has also learned to really love toys and will play with squeaky toys much like a pup, entertaining himself or join in a game to retrieve a ball. Charley also loves to run at a full sprint as fast as he can on a hike or in the huge yard he is now enjoying. He is quite an athlete to watch in action! As far as a new life, Charley would say #1 - the people…#2 - the people…then add some toys, some running and a dog would be okay too, or even two. He is a sensitive, softer guy and flourishes with encouragement so the right people really matter! Plus, if he can go along for errands or trips, he would be thrilled as well as leash walks, too. A fenced yard is also ideal. Charley is 45 pounds. Charley is very interested in chasing cats, so best without them. Charley came to Glen Highland’s Senior Rescue from a home in Pennsylvania in order to give him a better life. The family knew he deserved more time and attention and we were happy to help.
Adoption inquiries, please write rescue@glenhighland.com For former Glen Highland adopters, we can arrange transport to the Northeast region. For new adopters, we require that you visit Charley in his Vermont foster home.
