A 12 year old Border Collie, Ruby is a love-bug and such a charmer. She wants to say hello to everyone, wiggling and wagging and doing her little hello dance…such a joyful girl. She is very easy going, happy to hang around with her person or go for a walk to explore the yard or even a car ride just for fun. Ruby is playful and full of life!

She is very good with other dogs and enjoys their company, happy to hang out or investigate the yard together. But, her main focus is a person…a person who is ‘hers’ so she would certainly love being a companion.

Ruby had an unusual life living with a homeless man in North Carolina. While we would all feel this is less than ideal, one thing is clear..she was a cherished friend. Often we actually have found that dogs living on the street with a person are THE one thing that is loved fully since life has generally disintegrated. Once Ruby’s person went into a shelter, she had nowhere to go herself until Glen Highland. She needs to lose some weight and enjoy better nutrition but is surely the happiest gal here!!!

And, yes Ruby LOVES the couch!!!

Special thanks to transporters Teresa Allred and Cherie Grell for getting Ruby to safety. And, a special big thanks to Laura Powell for lodging Ruby til the transport could happen.

Sending lots of love to Ruby and all the BCs at GHF! - Janice Cannizzaro
