She has extreme separation anxiety at this time, fearful of being by herself. With the fosterer nearby, she is totally calm always seeking out a comfy spot to lay and rest.
Celia will get bi-weekly medicated baths and remain on antibiotics for her body and ears until the infections clear. Her hair is starting to grow now on proper nutrition but will take the longest to fix since the follicles are damaged from sun exposure.
We will know more about Celia’s interests and needs as she recovers. Her heartworm treatment and spay will not happen soon. She will be treated with the slow-kill heartworm protocol until we know she can tolerate the injection protocol.
Celia is being fostered in North Carolina with Glen Highland adopters. A huge thanks to Nancy & Doug Harvey for opening their home & hearts to help.
All the North Carolina dogs were helped by LUKE'S FUND. These funds paid for initial vetting & boarding until the dogs could be moved into foster homes. Blue Ridge BC Rescue, Atlantic Region Central BC Rescue and Carolina BC Rescue each took in one dog from this group. Glen Highland was the only option for the remaining five dogs, though not senior age, we wanted to help. |
