Meet GUS… ‘10' is the age for now, til we see him, but it’s been confirmed Gus is an old fella and really needs a soft landing. He was found as a matted, exhausted, skinny Border Collie wandering along a highway in summer heat with the index at 110.
Thankfully, he was brought to a Texas shelter where he was diagnosed with heartworm disease. Gus has no teeth left and signs of a tough life on his body, but perked up to eating better and gaining some strength, even enjoying toys. He responds instantly to a whistle, coming to see what’s up so we hope that Gus will blossom with time and appropriate care…he surely is people friendly.
We are pleased to help Gus in whatever way he needs.
