Almost a year to the day we heard that PIPPA needed to be rescued, she returned to spirit, far stronger than her arrival but weakened by unexpected cancer.

Coming from a shelter as a stray, she was in such rough shape, we were not even sure how long she would live. Even touching her body anywhere caused her severe pain and a bite to the hand. And, heartworm disease left her weakened and fragile. This lovely girl had not seen a good life for a long, long time.

YET once we tackled all the medical care with pain medications, incontinence meds, liver supplements, numerous vet visits and high quality food along with lots of love, she improved. Pippa sought out endless affection, loving being pet and brushed. After JUST announcing she was finally heartworm negative, we were stunned to have to lose her to a fast-growing cancerous oral mass on her tongue.

We know Pippa had a wonderful year of better health, kindness and cozy home living which she absolutely loved. We surely cherished her and celebrated the big transformation…

GODSPEED PIPPA… what a wonderful girl who graced our lives.

PIPPA'S HISTORY

Our lovely gal, PIPPA, has been available for adoption for some time but the right fit has just not appeared. As time rolled along, we’ve been watching this girl and feeling another move would be too disruptive… so PIPPA IS HOME with us!

Pippa is in the place she already knows, with dogs she is already comfortable with, and complete medical care for whatever arises. A sensitive 10 year old, she deserves to have it easy!

We are thrilled to have solved her pain needs, making her so much more comfy in her body which allows her to accept lots and lots of loving…literally happy for a belly rub and tons of cuddling! Pippa is so very, very different from the scared, malnourished, immobile dog who arrived back in July 2024.

WELCOME HOME FOREVER PIPPA! Thank you to those who have been her ANGELS, helping us with her medical needs.

Pippa is heartworm positive so being treated with the slow-kill method due to her age. Since she is not super active, this is an ideal way to handle the disease. A simple application of Advantage-Multi between her shoulders each month will eventually kill the heart worms. She is doing well with this approach. She is on pain daily meds for arthritis - CBD from Elle-vet and Gabapentin at night.

PIPPA is a gentle soul happy to have a person who understands her sweet, soft nature. She is very quiet and calm, really at ease being with her person for a leisurely day. She loves attention but also is happy to sit on her bed and watch out the window to see what’s going on in the world around her.

Found as a stray, Pippa landed in an overcrowded Oklahoma shelter about to be euthanized when our rescue colleague, BC Save reached out to us and Glen Highland stepped in.
