We are so elated that KELCI went to a new life where she will be center stage receiving tons of love! Her new FurMom & Dad saw the facebook post and wanted to add this lovely girl to their home and hearts, no matter how long it might be…they just knew she needed them and they surely wanted her! We are so thrilled cause we know that Kelci will blossom even more! She has a great yard to call her own, a canine pal and they are with her 24/7 since they’re retired. A special thanks to the Margist family who kindly lent their Delaware yard to us to meet halfway between Gloucester, VA and Long Island, NY… making the meet and greet go more easily! It was a long day for all involved but Kelci is now home! Kelci is 13!! |
KELCI'S Story: Kelci is so friendly and really like your ‘shadow’ wherever you go, happy for a scratch and belly rub. She is also wonderful with other dogs. She’s joined a pack of six Border Collies without a bit of trouble and they all easily accepted her, too. She is a very funny gal with a woo-woo hello when she sees someone she knows and of course, if you feel like continuing a conversation with her, she does some more woo-woo-ing! Toys are a favorite pastime for her but truly, it’s her person…riding in a car, walking the property or just watching TV! Kelci was dropped at a North Carolina shelter and had clearly been missing appropriate care, leaving her with a nasty flea allergy, extremely long nails prohibiting easy mobility and a peach-sized mammary mass. Removal of the mass was recently done and the prognosis is good that the carcinoma is gone. She had a low grade cancer that will not need further treatment and is unlikely to return. Thankfully, that is behind her now and she’s feeling much better! |
