A huge thanks to Janine Choplick who allowed us to stage a meet and greet in her PA back yard to make it easier on Patches who was in rescue in NY so Patches easily headed a bit further south into her new home! ![]() |

A sweet, super soft guy, he needed another BC pal and people who understood his sensitive nature. Two days before we were asked to help Shadow, former adopters had lost their beloved BC Jack, another softie needing just the right fit when they met him years ago. So, in classic Glen Highland style, a match-making event unfolded and Shadow met his new guardians days later. He is now the 9th Border Collie to jump into their hearts, carrying on the beautiful connection that they cherish. His previous guardian adored him but his two non-BCs were just too rough on this sweet guy so he selflessly sought out a new life for Shadow. We were so thrilled to make this happen for all involved... healing hearts, sharing the unconditional love between dogs and humans... a good day’s work! |

Special thanks to Noelle & Ian, GHF adopters who evaluated and helped make it possible for GHF to assist Chester. |

As we get to know various rescue dogs coming in, some are clearly eager and able to head off to a new life, making another change. Others are not so steady to make that happen. We are always cautious about assuming they need to ‘go out’ and wait to see what they want. While Parker has easy going qualities that made him seem flexible, he also has a careful nature, not always at ease. As he truly landed at GHF, he blossomed in such a settled, secure way, our caretaker just knew it wasn’t right to move him again. And of course, she just fell in love with this sensitive and reserved boy as she watched his worries melt away revealing a funny goofy boy! Parker loves his new yard, breaking into a run in the middle of the field just for the heck of it, or sitting quietly on the knoll looking out, nose to the air, content as can be. He’s made fast friends with his fur sister Jane and the other senior dogs, herding and tugging and even winning over a few of the ‘grumpier’ residents! And best of all Parker has found a new mission being a steady guide and a ‘heart’ worker to our Caretaker, the perfect connection for this gentle boy with a huge heart. |

The two of them will be together 24/7 getting to know each other as the months unfold, sharing all the love between canine and human, joining hearts together. We know these two will bond quickly and Tess will even have an opportunity to learn fun tricks cause her new FurMom loves to teach all kinds of activities to her furry pals. Highly food motivated, her new guardian got a chance to see what motivates her first-hand, on arrival: “She is very busy exploring everything and getting every crumb my vacuum missed!” We are so pleased for these two!! |

He had been patiently waiting for just the right BC to join him after the passing of his GHF boy, Oats so when he heard about Marleigh, he headed to meet her. He has had many Border Collies and loves the brilliance of the breed so when he connected with this softer, sweet BC, he felt he could adjust all his experiences into a great life for both of them. We agreed and off she went to be his beloved friend 24/7, going everywhere with him. A special thanks to Dave Cameron who helped oversee the process. |
NEW LIVES FOR FLORA & ROSIE, TWO DESERVING YOUNG BCs! We are so pleased to work closely with our rescue colleague, East Coast Herding Dog Organization (ECHO) to help two young BCs find better lives. Both were part of a backyard breeder ‘give-up’ that came to GHF. Time was of the essence, so a GHF team headed into southern PA, pulling four young dogs. The youngest pups found great homes quickly and now, FLORA & ROSIE have landed, too! ECHO agreed to foster these girls to be sure they were safe. Together, GHF & ECHO covered their needs, ultimately landing them great homes! We wanted to give a big shout-out to Debbie Lazaro of ECHO; Margie Flagg, the GHF adopter, who fostered Flora; Rosie Sutherland, the GHF adopter who fostered Kya (who is now named after her, as Rosie!) and also to Mackayla Luse and Lisa Barrett, GHF adopters who transported the dogs! This effort required quick juggling within hours to ‘pass the dogs to rescue’!
