A sweetheart of a Border Collie, 9 year old ROLO is good-natured about pretty much everything. He loves attention and being with his person. Just the sweetest guy around!

Rolo is ALWAYS very easy going when inside, loving to cuddle and lay his head on your lap. A calm companion with such a loving nature.

However, outside he is VERY interested in the environment and checks out any of the creatures and activities he spots. This has led him to previously dig out from fencing and explore on his own.

He does love to run and is gorgeous to watch as he gallops around to explore, but we want to adjust his focus.

Rolo is now in foster care in Vermont to help shape his experience when outside to be more on a person. We started this training in Virginia and he did very well but he needs more consistent training before sending him to a new home. We are using an ‘air tag’ to insure his safety.

Known as a ‘houdini’ of sorts, he was picked up running loose many times in his previous situation. We know he does not like thunder or gun shots so presume he might have had a history outside alone so dug to get away. He also might have been left outside without fencing and running wherever he wanted to go became his normal life.

He is approximately 55 pounds. Rolo is GOOD with cats.

Rolo had a non-functioning right eye from birth so it was removed in order to prevent high pressures from developing. He is absolutely sighted in the left eye and sees like any other dog!

Rolo will only be placed with with a very secure fenced yard, or we may consider Invisible Fencing since this type of containment often works on some escape artist type Border Collies.

Rolo, along with his sister and a BC mix pal lost their home due to the illness of their guardian. He previously lived with her for five years, very loved.

Special thanks to Ann Cattaneo for fostering Rolo and providing the learning he needs.
