NOT YET AVAILABLE PRINCE is a fitting name for a very sweet, handsome 10 year old guy! Prince is a friendly, good-natured, go-with-the-flow Border Collie who is now adjusting to a big unexpected change. While his first day in rescue was confusing and he clearly showed some worry, that is not the case now. Prince is deaf and has been since a pup. While his guardian had no idea this was the case, the two of them figured out life together becoming a very tight-knit pair. He was her beloved informal ’therapy’ dog, helping her handle personal anxiety issues. He’s never lived with a fenced yard since they mostly resided in apartments but he’s spent plenty of time at dog parks and on lots and lots of leash walks. Prince is very outgoing and happy to go with his person anywhere they go!
We’re excited to see how he changes now being around other Border Collies…in fact, he showed some interest in toys which had never happened before and laid on a dog bed which he also never did before! Prince is trying things out! Prince has basic hand signals for sit, lie down, come here and stay though he is so easy-going and clued into his person, just one look or gesture tells him what is next! He is sensitive but he was never physically harmed in his life though he felt the heated exchanges and removed himself from the room, we were told. Clearly a resilient Border Collie, we’re excited to see how he blossoms at Glen Highland. Prince is a 50 pound purebred blue merle border collie and has some weight to lose. His coat is growing after being groomed too short. We have a couple vet needs to tackle before he can be adopted. He is good with cats, lived with a smaller dog most of his life and interacted with many types of dogs. He came to Glen Highland from North Carolina. We’re very happy to help Prince and his guardian, both.

A big-time thinker, Prince has figured out that there is a lot to watch and plenty of action with other BC buddies. He’s making friends quickly and absolutely loves hanging out with his new person, our Senior Caretaker. He also loves his yard and is the head of the rescue pack leading the way out!!
