NOW A SANCTUARY RESIDENT Update March 2025: Sweet 10 year old LUCY in Georgia is now a Glen Highland Sanctuary RESIDENT. She is such a gem and so friendly and good-natured however we have uncovered some medical needs that make her unadoptable. We are very happy to provide care for the rest of her life and so grateful she is in a loving foster home. Lucy is VERY happy where she is and has truly blossomed since arrival in September. We are certain Lucy had a very rough life without good care since she was in terrible shape and confiscated by animal control. We are also pretty sure there was abuse since it’s taken her many months to feel safe in the new situation. With love, time and solving her medical needs, she has really made great progress. We will tackle this new challenge of trying to solve her respiratory issues, heading to an internal medicine specialist. Something is causing a cough that is not resolving and it’s not just allergies. LUCY'S HISTORY At 10 years old, LUCY is a lovely natured Border Collie mix with a total focus on people - she wants to be right by your side wherever you go! She is a happy girl who is so easy going herself that it’s clear she was well loved, though her care was very lacking. With proper vetting to handle her medical needs, she is now much happier. Lucy loves to say hello to dogs and people alike in a gentle manner, curious and calm. It’s great to see her feeling more confident and outgoing with greater stamina! Pain management will need to be continued. Her arrival in a Georgia shelter was due to a confiscation of many dogs and cats. The shelter team reached out to rescue because Lucy was so incredibly sweet and deserved a better life.
We are so grateful for Pat Stumpf who opened her home and heart to spare Lucy the risk of euthanasia, due to her age and lack of space at the shelter. Also, many thanks to the supporters from Bartow County, Georgia and beyond, who pledged donations to help "Molliemoose" now known as LUCY!
