NOW A SANCTUARY RESIDENT Our lovely gal, PIPPA, has been available for adoption for some time but the right fit has just not appeared. As time rolled along, we’ve been watching this girl and feeling another move would be too disruptive… so PIPPA IS HOME with us! Pippa is in the place she already knows, with dogs she is already comfortable with, and complete medical care for whatever arises. A sensitive 10 year old, she deserves to have it easy! We are thrilled to have solved her pain needs, making her so much more comfy in her body which allows her to accept lots and lots of loving…literally happy for a belly rub and tons of cuddling! Pippa is so very, very different from the scared, malnourished, immobile dog who arrived back in July 2024. WELCOME HOME FOREVER PIPPA! Thank you to those who have been her ANGELS, helping us with her medical needs. Pippa is heartworm positive so being treated with the slow-kill method due to her age. Since she is not super active, this is an ideal way to handle the disease. A simple application of Advantage-Multi between her shoulders each month will eventually kill the heart worms. She is doing well with this approach. She is on pain daily meds for arthritis - CBD from Elle-vet and Gabapentin at night. PIPPA is a gentle soul happy to have a person who understands her sweet, soft nature. She is very quiet and calm, really at ease being with her person for a leisurely day. She loves attention but also is happy to sit on her bed and watch out the window to see what’s going on in the world around her. Found as a stray, Pippa landed in an overcrowded Oklahoma shelter about to be euthanized when our rescue colleague, BC Save reached out to us and Glen Highland stepped in. A HUGE thanks to Amanda Mayo who devotes her time to reaching out to rescues when there is no time left. And, as always, our appreciation to BCSave and Adam Derby who transported Pippa. We are grateful to help this lovely girl. |
